  1. Alright very fair point everyone has been getting a bit ahead of themselves, me included Have you got a tuner ? Have you asked them what they want installed/modified to get you to 350-400kw We all can recommend what we like but it comes down to the tuners knowledge/preference You might put piston brand "A" in your engine and the tuner might not like pushing them to a certain point or has had a bad Experince with them. He might prefer brand "B" cause he has had no problems with them This applies to all the parts really, so you gotta speak with the tuner, or multiple tuners and get quotes And I was only using the Pistons as an example
  2. I think that is because you signed up today, so means no replys till tomorrow [emoji14]
  3. You are dicing with death, if you are putting the word cheaper in your thoughts. I don't see how $13000 is cheaper than $2600 If you want 500kw You are gonna need a hell of a lot more cash than 15k And then another 15k laying around for when not if something breaks If you just want a 10second pass go down the e85 road
  4. Tune will still be there, it's in the ecu But a tune will have to be re-done as the new motor will have better compression and it could knock It would start and run fine, you just wouldn't wanna flog it until it's been on a dyno
  5. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=271543583788 Just typed F6 motor on eBay
  6. Hopefully it's something simple Just remember if you wanting to up the power (as all of us do) Then you need to factor in making everything else stronger
  7. No good to hear that mate, definitely not gonna be good if you have heard metal crunching Best and cheapest method for a new motor is to buy a FG F6 bottom end, which has forged Pistons and good for 400killer wasps Can be bought for $2500 off ebay But if your head has been damaged or it was starved of oil you will nearly need a whole new motor and turbo In that case it will be easier to buy a smashed car or a whole motor There is one on eBay at the moment for $5000 I think

Welcome mate, nice looking car and the power is addictive What happen to the engine ?
  9. Washed it Clay bar'd it Polished it Waxed it All by hand [emoji29] Then the A$$Hole fell out of the sky And I can't feel my shoulders anymore But that shine makes it all worth while
  10. Awesome!! Was Great to see it in the daylight as well Must be so much fun Is your passenger just there for the ride/enjoyment or another reason ?
  11. You just bolt your head onto the FG bottom end, manifolds and turbo all stay the same Your sump as well That's what people meant when they said a fg short is cheaper than rebuild
  12. Makes sense... I used to work on all the Mack truck army stuff, mostly training vehicles but did also see some recovery tow trucks that had the bullet/bomb proof cabs for actual combat use Was very cool!
  13. http://youtu.be/SHSO2rUqMqs Bet this guy said every known swear word
  14. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=271543583788 That's the FG f6 short motor There is also a whole BF F6 motor with all bolt ons and loom for 4800 on eBay Plenty of cheap ways to do it
  15. What engine is it ? They will just have adblue pouring into the exhaust [emoji13]
  16. ADR list for anyone that's curious http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/motor/design/files/ADR_Applicability_Summary-M-Group.pdf
  17. ADR 79/03 - euro 5 emissions and ADR 83 - external noise I'm not trying to burst anybody's bubble, I am just sharing what was drilled into me on my 5 day roadworthy course I did Everything you can think of arguing with the government has an answer to it
  18. Because 9 times out of 10 a tune is to increase the power and acceleration of a vehicle Wonderful things called ADR's get effected when you make your car more powerful
  19. Soon as a car is tuned it is technically unroadworthy And yes what rab said is true, there are only a few modifications that are legal, Some mods are counted as un-roadworthy and that's where engineering certificates can come in to it as well An FG should pass a roady pretty easily unless it's trashed, and even then it's likely to be simple things like brakes and suspension bushes
  20. Did your car fail on anything else? I have my roadworthy licence and the only reason you would request something like that is because the car is just rooted all over, or it is actually blowing smoke as it sits there Seems a bit strange for them to send it to an emissions test if your car is in good condition But scrap all that and just take it somewhere else
