  2. Yup that's what the dealership said. This is just not possible unless someone grinds in the street. :|
  3. Ive got tiny rust spots all over the top surface of my bonnet. Again, white FG XR6 Turbo ute. Service dept where I bought it from said it was basically my problem. Car is 9 months old.
  4. Lee from RDP. Not just another customer, always interested in you and the vehicle. Im taking my next $5k there.

Actually used to have a BF2 Turbo ute with my old job... lost that then struck out on my own. FG XR6T rocket. So Im back! \o/
  6. This makes me sad!
  7. Think the recall code was R1005. HMI module. Got mine done, all sweet now. If you own an FG and havent moved or bought it second hand, you shouldve got a recall letter from Ford.
  8. Yeh, got a recall letter this week. Dual climate, sounds like a racoon humping the glovebox.
  9. Sound quality is vastly improved; I only put in 4x 6.5" Fusion Reactors ($50 a pair) as an interim. Main focus was on the sub+amp and seeing if I could DIY it Next stage is probably some Alpine splits running off a separate amp. The head end seems to have enough herbs to crank the volume up on the new ones though! And there is so much more clarity compared to stock setup.
  10. Another great write up, I did this today. 6.5's fit both front and rear (rear in the ute anyway) but as you say, the fronts definitely need to be slim. So yeh; thanks for the help :D
  11. Awesome write up, just completed this today. Except for that bloody trigger cable. Will have to find a good place to tap into. Anyway, just saying thanks; very helpful!
  12. Ive got an FG Turbo ute, no RCAs, and no sub. Hence why I am browsing this section ;0
  13. Wouldve liked a read too. I have an FG Ute in Brisbane if you are interested
  14. OK, installed it this morning. Stock ute, no tune (with Xforce boost gauge running off the vaccuum line). All the flutter has gone, totally. Gauge is showing its coming on boost, and it definitely feels like it, but I just can not get it to flutter at all. So Ill probably take it off later today or tomorrow. :(
  15. Sounds pretty good for a $15 mod. Got the parts tonight, gotta find the time! Cheers for the vid(s).
  16. Going to try this tonight.
  17. Swapped looks with a Toxic ute with Chrome taillights on the M1 near Logan on Thursday arvo. Judging by the sticker, he may be a plasterer! I do the Brisbane <-> Gold Coast run every day about 7am. Neo ute with Xforce tripod!
  18. $60 for freight and they still busted it? Bummer. You are right about it a lot more subtle on the lighter colors. Looks great though !
  19. Damn they look tough! Whered you end up getting the bonnet and what did it cost, if you dont mind me asking?
  20. That is the plan eventually; catch is I dont get time off until friday at the earliest, maybe not until next week. And I need it for work every day :( Guess I was hoping there was some small thing that I could do myself, as well as getting the issue out there in case others have experienced it. Any way, cheers for the reply!
  21. No-one has any ideas?
  22. Hey all, Ive been lurking here for a while, disappeared recently because we've just bought a house and running around like a headless chicken trying to sort things out doesnt leave much time for anything else. Unfortunately, just when the Ute would come in handy for us, this thing has popped up :( Now onto the problem: I have a set of XForce gauges installed, so I can monitor oil temp + pressure, and boost. Recently started my car, let it warm up etc, drove towards the highway, engine/oil all warmed up and nice. Put my foot down as I turned onto the highway, felt like I was in 3rd gear starting off, and then the thing coughed and spluttered; Mrs nearly went through the windscreen; all power just disappeared and I managed to part limp/part jump it to the side of the road, where it was still just bouncing around. The ETC (Engine Throttle Control) light was on, and stayed on. Anyway, I turned off the car, let it sit for 30 seconds or so, then restarted it. No errors, no warning lights. Gave it a few small blips with the throttle, still nothing. So I pulled back onto the highway, all is well apparently. And I would have though nothing of it. Except it felt just a little bit sluggish. I kept an eye on the boost guage, and now I am not boosting beyond 2.5 PSI. Usually it will wind up to 4 or a bit higher, but now it stops at 2.5 like it hits a wall. Power feels down, although it still goes ok. And the feel of boost has almost disappeared. Now onto the car: Oct 07 XR6 Turbo Ute - Manual (First Owner, ~17,000 kms - mostly highway) No mods except for an XForce tripod gauge set (Oil temp, Oil press, Boost) which was installed by RDP I checked the hoses for the boost gauge, thinking it might have opened a little (but I do doubt this as the T peice of the gauge is quite long still and fitting seemed ok). I have bought and installed some metal clamps for it nonetheless. And I still get the error. Ive searched the forums, and cant really see anything similiar to this; or Ive used the wrong search keywords! If its something obvious I do apologise. Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?
  23. Very nice, who fitted them, and what did it end up costing (if its not a DIY job)?
  24. Far out, I hate reading about this stuff. Sorry bout your car mate, f*cking oxygen theives. These days they dont even get a slap on the wrist.
