so a line converter would just clip straight onto the fitting that goes onto the stock amp?

Hello, I've just recently purchased a ba xr6 '03 model and I was wondering how I could fit a aftermarket amp and sub to run off the standard headunit? I have located the amp in the boot and when unplugged ive found that the amp only runs the subwoofer. Now, is there anyway that I can cut or splice into some wires to get my remote wire from the existing port and the rca plugs? thanks
