I used the brakes that were supplied with the callipers. I am bedding them in, well at least for the first 200kms. Cant wait until I thrash them

I just got the brakes installed on the weekend. Due to me hurrying and not reading the instructions, I threaded the brake line screw insert in the calliper. I tell you what, I was not a happy chap for doing that. Anyway, I called a mobile mechanic who rethreaded it for me. Since they were the brakes and did not want to do it again, I asked him to fit it and he did it for $250. The majority of the time was threading the calliper and cleaning it out. Any way, its all on my car and looks sweet.....

Hey Everyone I have finally received my bits and pieces to install my new set of brakes on the front. Here is what I got. 1. BA PBR RED PERFORMANCE CALIPER AND PADS TO SUIT 325MM ROTOR (SAME AS FORD PREMIUM BRAKES) 2. FRONT 4000 SERIES ROTORS 325MM TO SUIT PBR PERFORMANCE / FORD PREMIUM CALIPERS CROSS DRILLED AND SLOTTED 3. Braided hose I was looking at installing this on the weekend. I looked at the PBR website and there are some pretty simple fitting instructions. When I was speaking to someone from PBR, he said that there might be a bracket required to fit these on. I ordered the braided hose from Melb and the dude said that there is a special connection from the brake line to the above calipers. He sent me the right connection I believe. I was just wondering if anyone has installed this before and can tell me how easy/ difficult it is. I am hoping that it will be almost a direct replacement. I have 18" wheels so hopefully there is enough room for them (require 18"+ apparently). I hope that it is relatively easy. I have all the right tools and have bled brake lines before so I am pretty confident with that. Any suggestion from anyone?

Hey I have just got some PBR brakes for my car. After speaking to PBR directly, they do not sell the parts individually. I wanted just the front but they will not supply it to their retailers anymore. Well I have called around and managed to find some parts for the front only. I got the red sports calipers and a set of 325mm slotted and drilled disks. If anyone knows where I can get a set of braided hoses for the front, it would be appreciated. Hopefully all the stuff will be here by the weekend and I can hopefully throw a few picts up next week. I am going to paint the rear calipers red to match the front. No change in brakes/ pads or disks.

Full Monty- Thanks for that information. I was just wondering if there are a good set of brakes that are a little cheaper. I dont take my car to track days or anything like that, just thrash it around on the weekends a bit. Obviously I want to do it a little cheaper than 3K, so is there a set of brakes (seems like front only) that I could pick up for cheaper? I was thinking anything between 1- 1.5K. Is this possible?

Sounded bad but they are from a wrecked car, brakes obviously fine.

Does 3K seem a little expensive for a wrecked set of brembos? I assume it is for all 4 wheels.

Thanks to everyone for their information. I think that I will stick with tuning it first and doing the exhaust a little later on (when the money flows in a little more). Cheers.

I think that I have spoken to 1 sponsor on this site. Just reminds me to get back to them via email. My brakes are getting pretty crap again. I need to look into them more. I need to do a bit more reading about brakes on here. I might try and get some brembos for the front to start off with. I wonder if the ebay ones are any good. Are they easy to install. Geez, 1 thread and I am already spending MORE money.

thanks Adam that's what I thought. there is so much helpful information on this site but when you are going to throw about 3K at your car, you want to know all the details. I think that I will go for the tune, injectors and air intake and see how that goes.

Hey forum I am wanting to know from people that have completed mods. I have done a fair bit of research and have found a few discrepencies. 1. The first modding place that I contacted said that I could get 270ishrwkw if I do the following; flash tuner, injectors, cold air induction, dyno tuned 2. After speaking to modding place B, he said that the 1 was full of sh1t and could not be done for the limited amount of mods. He suggested putting on an exhaust and maybe intercooler kit (no tuning required) and then look at the flash box. From everything that I have read, people are generally flash tuning it first and then putting on exhausts to get over 300rwkw. is this the best way to go or is putting on the exhaust first the way to go. I would like to make my final decision ASAP as I have the money aside for the mod. Just want to know what way to go.

it came with the car. its so good driving with the power bulge in front of you. Basically an optional extra with the car. would recommend to all.

Howitzer85 that's what I am a little worried about. The time comes in very handy. It makes you drive faster when you are late. Did you look at guages down the A piller or do they just look crAp?

The clock is so handy and who wears watches now a days. Bourbon and coke sounds good though and yes, that picture looks awesome. Thanks lads.

Hey forum I am deciding to put a few guages on my 05 xr6t. I have the farelane dash with the duel climate control (wank value) and the clock on where the guages go. If I buy a 3 guage set, can I put the clock in one of the pods? I use the clock a lot and dont really want to loose it. There is no other clock in the front and that is my oncern. Cheers

Thanks for the clutch info guys. Been a great help. I suppose that I will be running 280ish for a start. I have budgeted money for a new one so if it goes or I am sick of it, can replace it.
