  1. CJF077, I noticed all the nice work you have done to your car and you live in Sydney. Who did the work? Were you happy with the service and result? ...or is that a silly question
  2. I have been enjoying my T in standard form for the past 4000ks. Ive read about the many different mods people are doing and the different avenues people are taking to personalise and improve their car. I want in. My first concern is who do I see? I dont want to get ripped off or pay for a modification which will damge my car. I was looking at simple changes like removing centre muffler, pipe work, air filter and BOV. What can I expect to pay? I live in Sydney, any shop reccomendations from fellow members? Generally speaking, will this afffect my insurance? (im with Fordinsure) Any insurance company more accepting of these mods? A sincere thank you to all members for your sharing your advice, experience and humour. Im young and hope to learn from your mistakes...
  3. Freaky alxr6t, I just upgraded from an EF as well !! (an XR8II and found my insurance went from $3000 to $1900, thankx Ford Insure). Whilst I miss that V8 note, you cant help but smile when that turbo kicks in...
  4. This will be the first mod I do to my car. What kind of dollars am I looking at? I live in the Hills district of NSW, any happy customers of Exhaust Shops in the area? Thanks.
  5. Octane, Ive only just turned 23 and have a Blueprint with leather T in my driveway. Just because your young doesnt mean you cant do it. Happy saving and I know for sure missing out on that odd party will mean nothing once you hit the loud pedal on the falcon... On that point, I wonder what the average age of the T owner is? Based on this forum, im thinking mid/late-thirties. I think Ford should market more to the younger crowd, judging the modified car scene they seem to have the dollars to spare...
  6. Excellent concept!! I hope other 'Tuning Houses' like Herrod and CAPA offer simular days, id definitly spend my $$$'s after seeing what each can provide. If anyone can get hold of an address, it would be much appreciated.
  7. Before the BA range was introduced, I always thought the XR-XY series of cars was the pinicle series of Ford Australia. I think were now going to see something special with the intro of the BA. I think were going to make a big mistake if we all look backwards to go forward. GHTO = performance & benchmark, not stripes and shakers. The standard for a GTHO should be to have more than 300kw and be quicker around Bathurst. The car is such a legend, it means different things to different people, so you wont please everyone. Ford should definitely race a HOey in the GTP championship. I always said Fords strenghs like in its engineering and HSV in its marketing. GTP should be a secondary platform from V8 supercars to assert some V8 dominance over the lion in the marketing war.

    Xr6t Vs Wrx

Im 23 and have had my XR6T for 2 weeks. My friends have a 200sx and a B4 Turbo. My brother has a FPV Pursuit Ute. The reaction from my 'young' friends is that I have a great car which is a good platform to start modifying when the time (& $$'s) are sorted. Our view is the WRX is a great car but are far too many modified versions around. Im kind of hoping the the 30+ demographic does leave their cars relativly stock so mine does stands out somewhat (not like the airbrush/sticker brigade though).
