I heard once the car's been impounded it's not the police's responsibility if it get's damaged etc, it's the reponsibility of the impound storage yard... Police cant be made accountable either apparently...

Nothing to be said, well nothing in relation to car's on the H*****Y or people getting C*****D up, or meeting up etc... There are other section's if you have problem's with your car so I think the death of Vic chat in inevitable, dont see it getting any better... Maybe somebody can open up a private board with a name which wouldn't draw attension, where ppl can only get in by knowing another member.... Just a suggestion... BTW My Capri is looking Awesome

Not good new's mate, been through a number of member's in my family who have passed from various cancer's (Bowel, Pancreas, Blood Cancer), but on a good note had a freind that had Terminal Lung Cancer and had an operation went through remission and is now Cancer free, I wish you the very same outcome... Because when these car's are built and tested standard, Ford only send 1-2 car to get tested and the rest get built to the Exact same tolerances and spec's once they are legal, not every and each individual car is tested as it would blow out cost's rediculously, that's why standard they have really low boost, restrictive cat's, small exhaust's and cooler's and why they tried to develop an ECU which they had hoped would not be able to be cracked which as you know didn't work... When you go and fit, big exhaust, hi flow cat, bigger cooler & piping, injectors and crank up the boost, the emmision's the car permit's would be double or even triple, which mean's it would be waayyy over what it had been approved for from standard, rendering it illegal....

It's mainly HWY patrol's job to find and weed out thing's wrong with the car's to give them an unroadworthy and EPA, for instance there is a cop a HWY patrol up our way, we know him fairly well as he had a Mustang painted by Rajab's a number of year's ago and sorta became a mate of the Alan Rajab's, anyhow they brang in sorta the same thing for VL Turbo's a fair few year's back to get them off the road, this was about cooler piping going through the lower part of the inner gaurd, he came and warned Alan and said I'm giving you the head's up, the bosses have devised an idea to put all you guy's off the road, he said where are instructed to look straight for cooler piping through the inner guard, disconnect air flow meter's and see if they still run properly, search for aftermarket ECU's etc and even give an unroadworthy for a simple thing like a plastic plug that cover's the adjustment on the airflow meter enrichment... Any car that had the intercooler piping through the inner gaurd was to be canaried and need an engineer's report for structual strength, and Alan said what about if they remove the piping and weld a plate over the hole, he said well, they still need an engineers report to say it's up to an engineer's spec so either way you were screwed.... They know they cant get the Ford's for ECU's and stuff and there's no way for them to prove they have been tuned, they are just looking for alternative way's to give them an unroadworthy, it wont be long and they will be handing out EPA's to anything with a non standard intercooler unless it has paperwork to prove it's legal, like the Nizpro gear does...

Yeah I've spoken to my insurance already, they must be onto him cos they reckon he has cover, I said is there anything I have to do, they said no leave it to us and in the event that the car is a total loss we just pay you and we chase it up with his insurance so it should be pretty straight forward fingers crossed... Surprisingly not all that much, few hundred for pre-inspection, then when you have it all done and finished and running you pay a final inspection fee of roughly $1k give or take and they test the braking and stuff, handling, body flex test etc, he give's you a paper which you take to vicroad's and they punch it all in the computer, it's not like the old day's where you carry it in the car, it's like a RWC now you have 28 day's from the final inspection to take it to vicroad's and get it all sorted, if your late you pay another fee... Abit of stuffing around but the added bonus of having it in an old car is it's much much lighter, you can run any aftermarket ECU, no cat converter required, can have monster camshaft's, no pollution or EPA sh!t to bother about and of course most importantly the Tuff old school look's of a classic car not just another T in a crowd... I'll post come pic's up when it's progressed along more...

Car will be fully engineered for the Barra engine conversion, computer system, glide, tub's, 9 inch, cage and wheel's, and if I decide to fit 1, also a reverse cowl scoop, but I like the clean lines look so most likely just a V6 bonnet... It's getting there...

Yeah car was immaculate, I owned it from nearly new, only has like just ticked over 100,000k's, engine and some part's have been transplanted into this car which is a project still in progress... I should have some progress pic's in a few week's time finger's crossed, it's in chassis shop...

If I had a passenger it most likely would have been a fatality or they would be pretty busted up as in broken leg's, pelvis, head trauma etc etc...

Seen it around up my way, sounds like it has a stuffed turbo on it, it has this awful noise like a failing turbo bearing when it hits boost...

Yes you are right, that would be the case in a perfect world, but more often than not authourity is abused wether you like to admit or not...

Maybe a more appropriate approach for the police would be to get close enough to get a registration, if the Rider's see you and take off then Yes pursue them, if speed's get excessive them call it off, police say they do but in fact very rarely do they call them off, can tell by the amount of fatalities that happen, in fact I remember hearing on the news a copper say we wont stop pursuing them and let them win.... How many people that post in here have rode dirt bike's as kid's a short distance on the street to get to there local creek to have a ride, as in short distance I mean down a side street or 2 not down freeway's etc, does that mean they should be rammed by a police car or chased until they have a head on with a car, fence, wall, pole etc just so they can give the person a fine, because that's all that would happen if they caught them...

They say on the video the 4 bikes are all registered to the same address, I highly doubt 4 theives stole 4 bikes from the same house and are going to be cruising the street's together... None of the rider's even seen the cop's behind them until they were overtaking them, in fact the rider that took off had no idea he was being pulled over until the lights and sirens came on, wouldn't it be logical to cruise behind him for abit and do a rego check before endangering everybody on the road including the bike rider... Cop's push people in pursuit's to take risk's and I have heard the non commentary version of that clip, if you heard it you would be disgusted to see how petty they think the life of the bike rider is, it also doesn't show that there was a pack of about 3-4 highway patrol car's driving on both sides of the road's around bend's into oncoming traffic prior to chasing him swerving in and out of centre island's driving like a bunch of absolute moron's....
