  1. Manuel you would do the burnout in 2nd gear to start and then if the cars got the grunt you'd shift into 3rd holding it to the floor with no brakes till the tyres bite, then reverse back and you should be right to go. The higher the gear the harder they'll spin hence more temperature going into the tyre.
  2. What about rocket industries in sydney and get them freighted to your door.
  3. There updates are on tuesdays but why wait go over to there forums now and ask im sure somebody there could verify it and possibly brandish some pictures..
  4. Awesome work, well done to jim, dom, tony and everybody else involved with the car... The bar has been raised and by a great bunch of guys at that.
  5. Mate some bloody old HD-HR-HK-HT holdens came out with powerglides factory with 186 carby engines which make about -50kw standard haha, are they drag cars to coz they have 1. Of course you can, most of the quick VL turbo's have been using these auto's for years.
  6. Sorry well street car then instead of street trim. And how does an auto change to a powerglide make it a dedicated drag car, does that mean if you built a T with enormous power like this guy has obviously done, but say for instance yours was manuel instead of autp, say it kept blowing up the manuel, but you liked manuel and didnt want to swtich to auto, so you decided to take out your factory 5spd, only to replace it with an aftermarket 5-6spd like say a tremec with a massive drag style twin plate clutch only because that's the only thing that will hold the power, does that make it a dedicated dragcar? What auto do you propose he use if the stock auto just wont handle the power, even if a modified 4spd auto wont handle the power.? Only thing you can switch to is the older ford 3spd's or the older style GM Boxes like T350/400 and powerglides. Also another reason is there isnt a transbrake available that I am aware of for a ford 4spd auto yet. As for slick's. well that's obvios he needs them for traction, front runners well, try driving a high powered car with full slicks on the back and normal road radials on the front and then come back and tell us how you found it at 100mph+. Cheers
  7. Hahaha I know what you mean.
  8. Yes Adam I see your point of disbeleif, there are a squllion out there claiming monstrous numbers who say they are guna do this and that but never come through with the good's, but by end of year hopefully it should be ready.... Ill leave it at that.
  9. BTW nah dont know this one Dags, but I know 1 that's coming in the not to distant future hahaha.
  10. How do I know this info, well maybe its because my mate seen it run the time's with his own eyes, maybe he just happened to go up to the car take a look around it, maybe he might have then approached the owner or driver of the car and asked what power it was making, have you stopped to think of that for a moment or are you bored. Example, So if your on the street having a race with a bloke who you blow away by a mile and that stranger then comes up and says nice car mate, what power does it make, does that mean then you have to tell him your name, address phone number who built and tunes your car etc etc. quite obviously NO, my mate seen the car run the times checked out the car in person and seen it had full trim etc, he then asked the owner what power it making, owner tell's him and without being a gig and harrasing the bloke any further he left it at that. Im sure it will be on fullboost or somewhere soon as there usually at calder park taking videos and pic's.
  11. It wasnt a ute, it was definatly a sedan and it had full interior and all in it, and it was the same color as the car under fordboy1981's name. its definatly a streetcar not a racecar and it had big hoosier tyres under the bum and front runners on it aswell. Was told it had a transbrake'd powerglide in it and apparently its packing about 450rwkw. Ill try doing some asking around and see what I can come up with.
  12. I heard at calder park last night there was a a fluro colored XR6T there which ran a string of very low 10's at around the 140mph mark. The best being an oh so close 10.0002 at about 140 mph im told. Anybody from here know the specs on it or power its making.?
  13. Have you tried VPW in Epping. www.vpw.com.au
  14. PM sent regarding guages.
  15. Loctite them on. Just a droplet each bolt.
  16. Well mate im no dyno expert, it must have been shoot F6 mode then. Cheers
  17. Has a Rajab Racing Developments Intercooler in it to I forgot to mention earlier.
  18. Or you can just fit a new turbo screen, its only $60 from ford for the whole assembly and will last 100,000 k's atleast if you regularly service your car, not bad I thought and abit extra turbo protection for a mere $60 bucks.
  19. You should definately get your car to a dyno and have the afr's checked, Yes the car will run fine and feel more powerful and wont go into limp mode on a small thrashing here and there, BUT, I can almost garantee your car will be maxing out the factory injectors and running lean if you still have factory injectors and factory tune, it will be overboosting aswell...
  20. Could be a number of things. Check for cooler hoses being squashed or sucked in.? Also how long since you last changed your fuel and air filter.?
  21. From what I know Shoot 6 is usually industry standard, that's whats used at the summernats event aswell as many others, it stops the correction factors from being tweaked and allows all cars running in shoot 6 mode to be on par with each other, same goes for shoot 4 and 8... Mine felt flat and linear through the whole range before the tune, now I had a custom tune it starts making oost around 22-2500rpm and feels to have fullboost by about 3000 right through to 5500-6000rpm but my sh*tty valve springs are getting worse and after a few repeated cainings it feels like it drops back to factory power. Getting springs upgraded pretty soon hopefully so ill see how that goes.
  22. Definately sounds like the turbocharger seal is slowly seeping oil into the exhaust housing. I would be getting it looked at if it continues to get worse.
  23. Dunno about you guys but I just love the sound of this blue T. Hoping mine will sound as good 1 day.
  24. Have you had the car dyno'd before the you performed the 10psi tune ?. Mine had a 10psi tune when I bought it everything else was totally stock and it could only muster 185rwkw but ive read on here heaps of people with same boost making 200-240rwkw on just 10psi alone. I removed centre muffler fitted a Rajab Cooler, Typhoon lower airbox with 2nd CAI but still have the ford factory element which is abit grubby looking until I go and buy a K&N flat panel filter. Got it custom tuned as I wasnt sure if it had just the generic 10psi tune and anyhow after the custom tune it picked up to 218.3rwkw on 10psi dropping back to about 7.9-8psi. I have now purchased injectors, (Deka's) and are getting valve springs done and upping the boost to about 15psi and changing some piping sections so ill see how it goes then.
  25. Jared did you bring the gaps down on te plugs when you put the 10psi tune in it.? My mate had a brand new BA XR6T MK2 ute new from the showroom floor and his only made 169.9rwkw on same dyno as mine was tested on, and his was 6spd manuel, also today I witnessed a stock as a rock BF Typhoon 6spd manuel make 240.3rwkw on the same dyno mine was tested on on factory boost. Apparently the valve springs on the BA Mk1 are absolute rubbish and may contribute to the lowish power figures im now getting, so im off to get them changed in the next week or so and see what happens then. My mate who does the dyno'ing on my car has said ford used to test some cars on his dyno and some typhoons used to struggle to make 200rwkw and he said some stock xr6t's were freaks 1 even making 235rwkw on his dyno so I think it must be just the way it is, some people get the freaks and some get the duds, im with you hahaha, dissapointing I know but ahwell what can you do. Cheers
