  1. How much was the 4L65E straughsberry and what's max power it can handle ? The 1 I posted above is $3295 USD, which is as we speak at current prices (3,295.00 USD=3,685.43 AUD)which isnt to bad plus freight, then converter which im sure Dominator or TCE should be able to knock up, but it would be non lockup that's the only thing, just get the converter a little tighter to compensate that's all. Only other mod's would be possibly tran's tunnel which until it was here you wouldn't know exactly how much modification's needed, if any need's to be modified mind you, and a X-member which would be a few hundred to knock up, also a 1 peice tailshaft, say $1k for a pretty decent 1. You would be looking at about $6-$7k I would guess though.
  2. Sound's like once you throw in a built bottem end mate that auto wont live to long, ive been looking into auto's and here's a write up on a 4spd auto I found which may be adapted to suit the 4ltr 6.
  3. On my private road, I hear this V8 burble pull up beside me, look across its a VZSS, was either dark blue or black, anyhow he pulls about half a car forward whilst just sitting there . I think it was just to show me his there, plates were XR6-TZR, and somebody was getting teased but it wasnt me, it wasn't by carlengths it was by truck lengths, Another was a VT clubsport R8 get's beside me , this thing wasn't a stocky was as cammy as all hell and 6spd manuel plates HSV-R8U, I was only making about 265rwkw on both occasion's then, we had 3 plays he got takin on all occasions quite easily even with me starting from behind a little, driver puts his window down, (Driver)im getting to much wheelspin, (Me)you want to have a car jump, (Driver) nah that's I dont think it will do much good, he claimed power was 320rwkw so got me stuffed. Also there's a nice red XR8 ute ive seen with plates CUGEN3 which I thought was quite funny.

  5. Well done mate considering the GTech ba's have bigger tyre's and put down a Acid green one went 1.40 60ft on its 9.29 pass I dare say you might have givin him a run for his money. Hopefully this doesnt set you back to long and you can get back out there. Well done and all the best.
  6. HK GTS Coupe, they dont come any better than classic aussie muscle. George Seperavich's HK turn's my cogs and they dont get any tougher than this, crank up your sound and take a listen.
  7. Any under bonnet pic's of these car's never seen a single shot anywhere of them under the hood yet it seems to be abit of a mystery.

Yes agree'd im a fan of all thing's turbocharged, ive owned GTR's and sold mine to by something abit more big and comfy hence the ford, the ford are a great peice of kit, but GTR is in a class of it's own. The jap's have races from 0-300k's, they are right into it, the quickest im sure from stand still to 300k's is 13secs slowest being 20sec I think. Should be on youtube.
  10. A well thought out and setup GTR will beat just about anything, off the line, on the roll, top end full stop. Even though they are a tiny 2.6 they are a phenominal engine capable of very high output, ive personally witnessed GTR's run 10's with just management, injectors, 2 320hp roller turbo's good exhaust and a heavy duty twin plate clutch the rest as stock as the day it was built. If you move up to a 2.8 to 3ltr then it will beat almost anything that's street driving on pump fuel no problems in the world, only thing I would see beating it would be a modified 2jz.

  12. Just a question, not sure if it's been asked as yet but forgive me if it has. What rear driveshaft's and cv's are you using.

I would think if it was valve springs then the first power run would be say 270 followed by say 260-250 and keep falling the more runs you have, reason for this im told is the lifters pump up, RPM would also fall lower and lower with every run, well that's what mine was doing when it needed springs. It wouldnt keep going 270 270 270 and same thing over and over. Somebody else might know more in regards to this but that's from my personal experience with valve springs.
  14. Hard to say XRDOSE, was night time on chapel with those orange colored street lights so it very well may be. Somebody who has seen it in broad daylight may confirm if it is though. Looks pretty identical to yours though from what I seen.

Power is 360 rwkw 16psi, im from melbourne and I would never recommend this so called reputable transmission builder to anyone ever not even for a f*cking service, I mean 6 months for a transmission is f*cking ridiculous to start with regardless of type of vehicle. Trust me when I say I payed good money its very close the the 5k mark drive in drive out job. If the sh*t hits the fan and they play funny buggers I will name names and give the absolute full rundown on the whole situation.

I am having absolute grief with my fully built 4spd so far from a well known workshop, I wished I never had touched it and after spending sh*tloads to get the job done right the first time 6 months later I am still getting nothing but excuses from this transmission builder, oil leaks, slipping, transmission oil smells in the car, even smoke whisking out the back from underneath the car etc. All this within the space of just under 2000k's, 1700k's of that babying the auto to put some kilometers on it, reason being 1700k's is I ran it in for 1000k's couldnt fit me in so continued to baby it around for another couple weeks till I could get fitted in and adjusted, have done 2-300k's from then, no hard k's yet as of problems and its rooted again im sure of it with the above mentioned problems etc. Its so bad I am considering selling the car either as one or in pieces and returning it to stock and going 2J power, dont get me wrong the car hauls ass but I want reliability and I payed for that in full and are getting nothing but severe f*ck arounds. I will be ringing this week to see whats the go once again, if nothing but excuses I will be asking for a full refund of the transmission and selling the car.

  22. Im long ago 10th prestige now. Was nothing different just be able to have extra classes which sometimes comes in handy, the new map pack 3 out is pretty good some nice maps. The new modern warfare 2 is going to be insane I hear it will be on sale in 3 styles, 1 is regular modern warfare 2, then there will be modern warfare 2 hardcore edition, and then there will be the modern warfare the big box which is supposedly a few hundred dollars but come with real working night vision goggle such as the army use. Call of duty 4 has been hacked I hear with people flying around in the skys and walking through fences and buildings its become rediculous. Cant wait for modern warfare 2 now.
  23. spotted XRDOSE friday night, it looked a bit hard to tell but it looked like he was having round 2 with what I think was the black merc heading towards noble macca's around 12.30. Still no luck mate looked like he was handing it to ya again.
