  1. 1982 Ford laser came as a shell and built it from the frame up. Stuffed around and put a 1989 tx5 motor, TX5 2.0L 12 Valve and turbo'd it, twin carbie, and installed aircon lol It felt like a rocket to me probably really wasn't all that quick but it used to beat the ass of vs ss P.O.S. Untill one day I saw a reeeeeally nice looking Xf and thought hey they look cool, Worst mistake selling it for a crap 4.1l auto carbied xf. The slowest heaviest mistake I ever made lol Cheers

IVe been a Huge supporter of bp ultimate. etc etc However recently I was told by an older guy that used to work for a refinery in Pinkemba Brisbane at one of the refineries up there Either Bp or Caltex he wouldn't tell me But He said to me that There is one pipe line that goes between the Refinerys So somedays its a bit of caltex fuel going down to the distribution center and one day its Bp. What does everyone think? Maybe I was confused, I was thinking maybe that he meant that the crude oil has only one pipe line that runs from the dock to the refinery 's I could understand that becasue its all made from crude and then processed into A high octane fuel. Also heres my second part to the post.... What do you do if you've set your car up to run primarily on 98-Upwards and there is no 98+ fuel available. This is what bought about the first question originally, Caltex had a refinery fire up there and bp ran out of fuel and is still short of high octane fuels.... So Im without a car for a while I guess short of re tuning her all again .. cheers guys

I had the race of a lifetime it was a AMG mercedes CL65 in first and second we were nose to nose, then im guessing the guy realized my car was trying to keep up with him and he sneeakily turned his head and nodded before putting an easy 3 car lenghts between me and him. Soon all that was left was me and my humble falcoon , I dont even remember how fast we were going or how we sat side by side for so long. But I think that he knew I had been put to shame enough to let me go on home and cry Was well worth it but even for a few seconds. From what ive gathered a cl65 With an amg badge means I was an idiot for even trying hahahhaa
  4. When I worked at Autobarn They did a lot of this. Im guessing that they would do it up there too. As long as they are experienced and decent people willing to give some sort of warranty on it like if they break somehting they will replace it. I also know that a lot of upholstry buisnesses do it as well. Cheers Steve
  5. Hi All After Years of owning Fords , in particular the Xr6T Beast. Im looking at trading her in for something else. I may be stupid..... but I was looking at a few things out there in the Ford Family and found only one that caught my eye. The Xr5 Turbo, I know it has the ford badge but its got an old man in a hat Volvo motor if im right. (with a lovely turbo and fords tuning) the other I was intreaged by was the Mazda 3 mps turbo. To me they both seem a little too much "Girlfriends Car" like but id like something similar, I Think. The mazda also has all the otpions that ford Didnt think of as per usual. Sadly. I have had a good run Engine wise with all the mods and tweaking ive done to my 6T, They area very strong Very upgradable car. Maybe I should also post this in the Xr5 forum but I wanted similar ppls Ideas. Would the Xr5t be as modifiable as the Xr6T? I really dont care for the ford warranties as where I live there are a few trained monkeys in the svc area. P.s. No offence to you ford M.S. techies out there you rule ,but there is allways an idiot out there somewhere. Cheers
  6. Hey everyone, Just wondering if anyone else has had as much trouble with their Ford? Ive got an Xr6t 02 had it since new and never had any problems until almost a month after the warranty period ran out a while ago . Its now hit about the 70thou mark, not 700thou, seventy thousand 101km to be exact. Its been babied all its life and sheltered from the weather for about 350 days of the year. Ive replaced door actuators in the drivers side door and boot, Handles on the inside drivers front and rear passenger. My glovebox anchor point or hinge snapped so now the glovebox will fall out if opened. The Bonnet release snaped off from the fuse box. The drivers side seat side cover has broken about 3 times now. Cup holder no longer springs out and sometimes locks down. Drivers speaker in door occassionally works. Drivers side window dropped out and is now not working at all. Plastic grommet holding rooflining above rear passenger seat parcel shelf area fell out and dissapeared about twice now. Rooflining now sagging at the front windscreen area and rear parcel shelf area getting worse by the day. Inside of the front wheel arch the plastic air deflector came loose and was rubbing onto the tire. Front chrome ring surrounding the RHS headlight came loose REplaced headlight Asm. Blew out the PCV valve and assorted vacuum hoses in the middle of nowhere. Chewed out a cv on the diff and took the axle and other expensive nasties with it. And after the millions of km's its done , (NOT) it need new bushes in the rear apparently. Etc ,etc, etc But it does have that lovely blue oval on it and the favorable Red turbo badge The car has never been mistreated or really even driven hard. I bought the car to keep locked away, use for the weekend drive to the newsagency etc. Am I Just unlucky or has anyone else had this much trouble? Ps lucky this isnt a General moron site , I mean MotDirrrs

I cant exactly remember but its definetly inside your handbook (the pretty much useless one ford give you) It states how the smart lock if its still called this???? system enables different modes The windows will operate for a est period of 50 seconds after the key has been removed from the igintion if a door is open, However if a door doesnt open it operates for a longer period. It must use the interiour light sensor to detect this as sometimes my door switch would stick and they would go for longer. Hope this helps Cheers Steve
  8. Hi ian , How did you go with your electric window? Mine did the same on christmas day. Have found a few good ebay sites that sell the complete regulator for about $90 Have now got the doorcard off and had to force the window up with a screwdriver. Cheers Steve
  9. hi guys I was reading through the above and noticed someone asked what the difference between a 342 and 341 the difference is the 342 has an offset outlet or inlet pipe cant exactly remember, but the 341 has a straight pipe, as I was told via a phonecall to vpw vic perf wholsale. yell at him if im wrong I used to work for an autbarn up here and yeah I did all our returns and warranties and only once did I ever have a walbro come back, and it had been put into an old pos landcruiser. you could actually see how much crap the guy had in his tank through his filler cap lol hence why it failed. autobarn there has a ford v8 supercharged quad cam 5.4litre 02 mustang and its running a efi-255-341 fine! and yeah guys its well over the 300rwkw mark no fuel flow probs at all! I sell them day after day highly recomended half the price of an 040 bosch but still good stuff! But hey if you win the lotto and wanna pay more go for a bosch that way you can say hey ive got an 040 lol easier to remember I spose!
  10. hi guys , just like to say this is a great Highly recomended thing to do! I run 15 to 20 psi on a xcal2 comp, all the fun bits etc and I felt it seemed a bit laggy coming on to boost, thinking it was just me and buying more and more for her to make it feel better and better! Ive now .... I call it invested about $10000 cost price worth of add ons for her and this would have to be the biggest most noticable, and cheapest even if you buy the most expensive silicon spray mod that ive done , really sad actually lol! Not that im saying all of the other mods didnt give huge power and torque gains, but the simple easy procedure taking what 5 minutes is suprising. Good Job guys! Thanks
