  3. sept/03 BA XR6T, still stock. 107,500km and still going strong. Replaced the clutch about 5,000km ago. Car goes like new and I still drive it like I stole it.
  4. When I got the car (09/03), I had a disappearing oil problem. Not much went missing but it would slowly go. But after about 10,000 to 15,000km the problem went away and engine oil level stayed the same ever since. 92,000km on the clock so far.
  5. What Ford_Power said. Even the BA's have the variable speed wipers depending on the speed of the car. For those who don't know, select the intermittent wiper setting and you'll notice the gap between wipes change depending on your speed.
  6. I thought I'd dig up this old thread about World of Warcraft. I am still playing the game and reading through the stuff I wrote in this thread from the early days, I am quite embarrassed about how little I really knew about the game back then. Anyways, the characters I currently have are as follows. They are all still on the Uther realms server, spread over 2 accounts. Yep, I 2 box the game sometimes. krashhed - Level 70 Human Warrior. The Original character I talked about in this thread, but currently retired. Krasht - Level 70 Tauren druid. Yes, I switched to the other faction with this druid. Was awesome to play all the way to 70 and was a regular starter in the old High Warlord groups back in the pvp grinding days. This druid is semi retired now. Krashtoo - Level 70 Tauren Shaman. My current character, which I play the most, though I don't play nearly as much as I used to. I usually log in, play a few bg's and log out hen I have spare time. Krashnoheals - Level 49 Undead Priest. This is my 49 twink, which I play when I feel like melting faces. The other bg character that I play when I get some spare time. Also have multipal other characters of varying levels. Yep, I still play WoW.
  7. I got my XR 6 turbo in September 2003. Still have it today. Total distance driven so far, 91,000 km's.

    Tailgating

When I drive any vehicle, I personally don't tailgate. If someone is hogging the right lane, I usually go to the left lane, turn up the music and cruise along. No use getting agro over some other idiot on the road. In regards to other cars on the road tailgating me, It happens a lot in the car, but when I drive the work truck (little mazda E2000 thing) I see the tailgating increase by an insane amount. I'm thinking, the tow bar on the truck is a magnet of some kind.
  9. Hello, Anyways, took my XR6 Turbo (BA original) into the dealership for a service and for them to fix my heating. They have to pull out the dash for that, so that's nice and fortunatly under warrenty. Anyways, I got a call from them saying that I have to replace my front pads and rotors. I have the Premium Brakes and the quoted price they gave me was $1800 for front rotor and pad change. I understand that I have to replace the pads, but the bloke who called said that the mechanic noticed a little "bobble" (whatever the hell that is, and no not the game) on one of the rotors and they said both front rotors have to be changed. Thus, the $1800 quote. I obviously said no and will be taking it to the mechanic we use for the other cars. If indeed it will cost $1800 (which I doubt), I'd rather pay the family mechanic rather than the dealership. I haven't noticed any brake shuddering, vibration, pulse or anything that would suggest that the rotors have to be replaced. The cars only gone 67,000km and it's in Canberra, so not exactly alot of braking involved on the average trip around town. What are some prices people have paid for a similar thing (2 front rotors + 2 pads and grooved premium brakes)? BTW, good to be back on these forums. It's been a while.
  10. My first car (was actually the family car) was a Falcon XF. My second car was the first car I owned and it was a 1998 N15II Pulsar SSS. My 3rd and current car is the Falcon XR6 Turbo By far the best of the 3.
  11. I've had the same sound every now and then. For me, it's a backfire. They can get loud sometimes (my brother actually heard it once, while following me on an enthusiastic drive) and when you're concentrating on the road it sounds like something else and louder then it actually is. It happens quite rarely and I can't replicate it, which would be good. Bit like in the movie Uncle Buck, but minus the smoke.
  12. Unfortunatly, due to last minute changes to plans, I have to pull out of the cruise :( Have fun all.
  13. I filled up in Cooma with Vortex 98 @ $1.22 per L. This was about two months ago.. I'll come along.. This Gull?!?! Is that past the Queanbeyan Ski club boat ramp? Can anyone post a map with its location...(I'm new to Canberra).. The gull is on the Monaro Highway. It's in the industrial suburb of Hume, so if you are going to cooma it's on the left at the set of traffic lights in the "middle part" of hume.. I think it's the only turn into hume from the monaro highway. I hope this isn't confusing.. Anyways, it's been a long time and I think I'll have time for a cruise... Count me in for now cro s
  14. Mine went through oil until about the 25,000 mark... Then the oil usage just stopped.
  15. hehe... well, some rubber thingity jig in the back end... he said there were apparently 3 stages and he could take one stage out, but that would be "illegal" or some rubbish like that. I will still keep on pesturing them until something is done..
  16. Long time no type on these forums, so I may be out of the loop bit.. I also have vibration issues under accelleration. I can actually feel it by myself, but with load it's pretty bad... It is getting prograssivly worse... My car was actually in for 2 days a few months ago and they had to basically take out the whole rear end to change some rubber or something on the back of the diff.. The vibration was gone for maybe a few days after (couldn't really test it with alot of people in it etc), then it came back again. The next time, the shop manager went for a drive with me and said something about the "butt stops" maybe hitting and causing the vibrtion.. anyways, no go.. I have noticed however that there is less vibration when TC is off.. Is this a driveline issue related to the motor? I can feel it in the gear stick.... Anyways, great to be back..
  17. Ahhh, that audi (the blue thing) is from the mischief dvd's (mischief 3000 I think). That bloke got pulled over dozens of times..... But they didn't have this bit on the DVD's however...
  18. look at the girls.. think to myself, "hrm... basic picture..." then after some scanning.... hehe... talk about funny.. that dudes small.
  19. I noticed the lack of social interaction when I first started playing. Sure there was the odd "hello" etc. But the more levels I get up the more people I meet up with for the harder quests. I actually have quite a few people in my friends list now and I'm also part of a smallish guild (although I may quit the guild because most of them aren't online when I play). On the server I am on, UTHER, there are a few guilds full of players from eq etc. who were in guilds in EQ and have joined up as a guild in WoW. The more you play, the better the interaction with the "locals" is. You just have to go to the uther realm forum on www.worldofwarcraft.com to see what kind of "smackdown" happens In game the allience can't actually understand what the horde say, vica versa. The social aspect does improve, especially if you are helpful. I regularly get whispers for help and I usually do, even if I can't get any exp points for kills etc (lvl's too low for me) . Anyways, the server I play on 99% of the time is Uther. I've hung out at Proudmoore, but that's only a part time character I play if uther is down for maintanence. My character is krashed (human warrior). Add me to your friends list in game and whisper me for any help . I am usually on most weeknights and sometimes during the weekend. Oh well, 5 more levels then I get my own horse, if I can afford it.... 90g's. The most I've ever had is 7g's.... gotta start saving. Can't wait.
  20. Being a newbie in this type of game, I actually liked it from the start. But I must say that the fun really starts at around lvl 20. When you join groups for the instance quests it is damn enjoyable. My human warrior is at lvl 35 now (need about 50,000 exp points to get lvl 36) and I have started to be involved in raids against the horde (the opposition players). Although alot of the horde that attack us are in their 40's 50's and the odd 60, I still have fun. I once had to faced a level 54 tauren (from the horde) and he hammered my in about 3 swings.. hehe.. This "war" is pretty enjoyable. There are alot of high level alliance aswell (40's, 50's and 60's). Unfortunate for the alliance (my side), the horde seem to comprise of more skillful players. Most likely due to the horde having more mmorpg veterens etc. Alliance is full of newbies in this game type. When a raid happens on Stormwind (an alliance city), most alliance don't want to participate. We also couldn't handle 20+ horde, even though we outnumbered them 2-1. Mostly due to conflicting instructions from multipl sources. But in the end, after 40 minutes or so, we just went all in and totally destroyed them. Was fun. I'm still having fun and the Battlegrounds add-on is going to be released publicly soon and I can't wait. Proper warfare against the horde Should add more to the experience.\ Anyways, it's a pity that WoW isn't your cup of tea, but as long as you're having fun with eq2, enjoy yourself As we all all know, some people drive crummydores.
  21. First in has right of way.. Here in Canberra, Roundabout capital of Australia, Some people have no clue. People use roundabouts like a racing chicane, no matter how much time you've spent in the roundabout. They always recon "give way to the right". Roundabouts are supposed to slow people down... Oh well...
  22. Yeah, I noticed that too. Hopefully it isn't a fake bid. Last thing we need is a dickhead to ruin it for the appeal.
  23. Yer, the game can get graphically intense... System slowdown mainly due to hardware and the "on the fly" loading. My laptop with a ati radeon mobility 9600 and 64MB graphics mem craps itself the most when I get to a city such as stormwind and ironforge. Other then that, not too bad. My main PC with a Geforce FX 5950 Ultra (256 MB graphics mem) handles it way better. But in cities it does jerk along, while loading all the different character attributes... Especially in Ironforge at the Auction House. But out in the world it isn't really a problem. Anyways, I'm still enjoying myself. Level 29 Human Warrior on Uther and I started a Human Paladin on Proudmoore called Krash Level 10 with that one
  24. Maybe a solution for the Public Service. In the Public Service guess how many laptop computers go missing each year in Australia. Not Dozens, Not Hundreds, Not even Thousands... Tens of thousands... Pretty amazing really.
  25. Ahh, the CD32.... I have one... still work's Unfortunate for Late model camira at the time, the CD32 was a few months late. If they sold an additional 70,000 units, which they could've if it was available at the right time (before christmas), they wouldn't have gone into liquadation (mainly due to their failing x86 PC business). Then the world would've seen the AAA chipset in the amiga desktop computers, and it would've been the first 3D chipset in a desktop computer and the next CD32 console, pretty much taking the wind out of the PSX... D'oh... so bad timing... Watch "The Death Bed Vigal" (should be searchable on the net I think). It's a film by Dave Haynie, one of the chipset/hardware designers at Late model camira at the time. Certainly sad to see such a bunch of good people get done by the wa*ker been counters up top. Just a note that may interest some, the CD mechanisms in the CD32 were provided by Sony. Commodore/Amiga patented "Bootable CD's". Late model camira Amiga computers were the first desktop computers to have a chipset that provided graphics, sound etc all on the one board. The first true Multimedia computer (1986), before Multimedia became a buzz word. Ther are some pretty good stories about the Amiga. One such story is about Joe Pillow. This person didn't exist at all. When the Amiga 1000 was first revealed at a trade show, they didn't want to send the prototype unit by normal courier. Mainly because the actual chipset etc was put together by thousands of wires, not a completed motherboard. They then had to buy a plane ticket for it so that they could take it onboard a plane with them. They then called it Joe Pillow on the ticket, mainly because they were going to put it on the seat ontop of a pillow. Another interesting thing. Every Amiga 1000 sold had the autographs of all the people who put it together. Just look under the computer cover. There is even a Dog print, "Mitch", the dog owned by the late Jay Miner, the father of the Amiga.
