  1. Ok good stuff.
  2. Hmmmm, I have a set of bf cams gathering dust in the garage. Would the BA sensors still work with these?
  3. Yeah the red stands out way too much for me
  4. I still need to get more shiney bits, buts its getting there
  5. Mine comes in around 2800 aswell. At 4000 it's nearly making its full torque.
  6. I ordered my coil overs last week, do you recommend a good drive up the gillies or kuranda?
  7. Apparently the dude in the territory was using a phone and didn't see the cars infront. The news are also saying it was a 'hooning' accident!
  8. do you have a surge tank? Nice power by the way
  9. He has no luck with cars, his VK was stolen before he got the VL and now this happens. It sucks to see the work he put into it go like that.
  10. Ahhhh ok. I looked into them but I felt the gopro suited better.
  11. ^^Noise isn't too bad, is that with open back or closed? I've just ordered another case so I can drill it for the external mic to go in and run it on a long enough lead to go anywhere in the car. I reckon the turbo spooling would sound pretty awesome. I've known EJ for a few years, and that doesn't really surprise me hahaha.
  12. Model- BA XR6T Year- 2003 Oil Feed line filter installed/type- Earls, fitted about 50,000 before failure BOV fitted- Yes BOV Type- Kompact duel port, plumb back and vented KM's on Turbo @ failure or current KM's if the turbo hasn't failed- 198,000 Intake mods- 4inch intake Average boost pressure over the life of the turbo- 18psi~ Turbo had bad bearing noise, it lasted a week after a tune running 580hp
  13. The kid on the motorbike makes me laugh. The Townsville track wasn't much better, the return road wasn't even sealed in most parts
  14. Yeah Righto, they are virtually the same between the 2 and 3 with the sound quality.
  15. Install mirrors= heaps cheaper, but you could also use the gopro for 'after performance scrutineering'. Was your video taken with the open or enclosed back? It picks up good sound but the wind at speed is what Im trying to cut down.
  16. Gopro have tested the suction caps on planes at 200mph+. They wouldn't come off if they are fitted correctly. But there is a first for everything.......
  17. Mines the same, has been like it through 2 rebuilds and 3 yrs. seems to be no problem...... So far.
  18. You can get tethers which attach to the camera case
  19. Yeah I just use the suction cap. It's bloody strong when it's attached, but just make sure the surface is clean.
  20. Yeah I've searched for that but no go. I did a bit of a search on YouTube, a lot of people are putting the mics right next to the exhaust and the gopro mounted on the windscreen. It picks up awesome sound but makes me wonder what it would sound like with the mic mounted in the engine bay right next to a screaming turbo......
  21. Ah yeah ok, I've got the hero3 which they deleted the mic jack. I'll have to get one of these- http://gopro.com/camera-accessories/3-5mm-mic-adapter And drill the hole in another case for the cable to go through.
  22. Really good idea, seems like a good way to get some sound. Would you need the adapter to change it from the mini USB plug on the gopro to a 3.5mm headphone jack?
  23. I looked at putting it there on the bumper, does it get much movement from the bumper moving? I've seen footage of it mounted infront of the rear wheel pointing back, looks good if doing powerskids and the wind noise seems to be less there.
  24. I bought myself a early Xmas pressie, a silver edition hero3 Gopro. Good bit of gear, can use it for nearly anything and has a bucket load of different mounting options for whatever you like to use it for. I use mine mostly on the car. I bought one of the suction cap jiggers so I can use it on the outside of the car. The problem I am having is It picks up a lot of wind noise, doesn't matter what rear cover Is on the camera its the same. I mount it on the front drivers door just under the mirror pointing back to get the rear wheels in the shot. Just wondering where others mount theirs on the car and what's the best place you have found for wind noise?
