the poor fellow who just died (RIP) was not a victim of a rock throwing incident as such, police believe the concrete fell from a truck and basically it was all an unlucky coincidence. Still, RIP and hope his family are coping as best can be.

straughsberry, ask albins about possibly using bohler W302 steel for the axles, we have custom axles in our sports sedan and the originals were EN26, we snapped one, made some new ones in the W302, also had them heat treated. they came back with about 2mm bend in them from the heat treatment, required numerous attempts with a 20 tonne press to straigten them.

not entirely true adam as the power still runs through the solenoid. if the solenoid was stuffed the starter wouldn't turn either, as the solenoid engages, it not only pulls/pushes the bendix gear into mesh with the ring gear, it also creates a bridge for the power get to the starter. at a guess, check the brushes in the starter though, sometimes when they wear out they will create similar symptons, however when you were taking the solenoid off you may have bumped the starter enough to create enough contact to get the starter to spin up. anyway, now that you know the starter will spin, replace the solenoid and see what happens. if it is easy enough to take it off completely try it like that too.

someone give me a match, QUICK!!!

I have a really original, never restored 1969 car and when I got the rego done I asked for the old white over black style plates, didn't care what the plate number was, just wanted them as they would have suited the car more than the black over yellow. Yep the lady said, $110 plus $90 per year (or whatever the fees were), my reply, "nah, stuff that, give me the once off $32 ones" flibbin rip off merchants.

sh*te, that's a good price, we had VL manifold and turbine housing done about 3 years ago and they charged us $305 for that and we apparently got a trade price AND have had quite a bit of work done by them. Black is usually more expensive as well. and no we don't own a VL, the motor is in our old nissan urvan that is used to tow our race and rally cars.

condolences Dags, may Steve be remembered for all the good times, bad times, illegal times?, fun times and the dangerous times. Don't dwell on what he will miss, but what he did and acheived.

competition coatings at granville. these are the people I have used through work for a few years, everything from valves, pistons, heads and exhausts.

Hopefully my connection will be a bit better as of monday night, finally got the craps with optus so am going with telstra. hopefully that will make it a bit quicker.

a possible problem is the battery, our cars alarm went off one morning at about 5:30, went out and checked everything, nothing wrong, started fine in the morning, next night the same, and again for a few nights (needless to say the neighbours weren't happy. Took the car to work, put it on an osciliscope (engine diagnostic thingymabob), showed battery wasn't happy, put a new one in and it solved it. Hasn't happened since.

not in ANY way am I supporting pauline, infact I can't stand her like the majority of people however, of the stats you have just listed, non of them surprise me at all BUT unemployment- how many of that 38% is from choice?? You try and tell someone that 38% of the aboriginal population is looking for work but can't find any and you will get laughed out of the country does that income stats account for minors? again, with the over 35000 wage, doesn't help when a 1/3 of the possible workforce is not looking for work. infant mortality, might be because of the possible amount of child abuse that is "supposedly" rife in amongst aboriginal communities? life expectancy- you die earlier when you do nothing but drink beer, smoke and eat when you don't work, regardless of your skin colour, nationality or race!!! it is a fact of life DON"T get me wrong, I don't hate aboriginals, I have some mates who are aboriginal, and they are damn hard workers, damn loyal mates AND couldn't give two tosses about some lands claim, infact they try and distance themselves from all the crap as they find it downright embarrasing. Pauline though has some stupid ideas and will sooner or later get herself killed if she doesn't give up and just leave the rest of the country alone.

, although I got a complete company coming my way if it (and I) survives long enough.

saw a silver GT on resevoir rd blacktown, then a white GT on the M4, followed shortly after by a blue F6. was quite shocked to see 3 FPV's, all within 5 minutes of each other, and not 1 XR6T on the whole trip to work

I was in a similar situation with my femur and hip, I had a bolt inserted directly up the middle of the femur to hold the ball in place, bed ridden for 2 weeks, not allowed to walk for another 2 weeks, crutches for another 3 months, not allowed to run for another 6 months. well that is what they told me anyway, sport gave the call and I was back playing baseball in 6 months
-
I have played baseball for 20 years., longest I have gone between games is 6 months. with the amount of injuroes I have had from torn rotator cuffs, dislocated knees, near shattered ankle, dislocated hip (this was what caused me the longest layoff) elbow injuries, wrist injuries, dislocated fingers, general muscle strains, concussions (ever been hit in the head by a 90mph fastball, even with a helmet? NOT FUN) I will continue to play until I cannot physically pick up or throw a ball or swing a bat, I will crawl the bases or whatever but while I can I will play. Many people I speak to ask the same ??'s, Why? because I can and I want to. If you are deadset on playing, PLAY! BUT, let your current injuries heal completely, then work your way back into it SLOWLY! I have done courses in sport science and other associated stuff and some of the things you learn are about muscle memory, muscle recovery etc etc. While you can teach someone to change the style in which they throw, swing, run etc (much easier in a child as their muscles haven't yet got the memories of bad styles) it takes time. Since you haven't played in quite a while your muscles are still on "lazy" Nick settings but will slowly change to soccer settings given time. As mentioned, take it slow, take it easy, warm up for at least 20-30 with obvious emphasis on your legs and back and then start out your training or games slowly, building up to a faster pace as the body can take it. AND almost as importantly, cool down, go for a run around the field, bringing the pace down slowly until your basically walking, then stretch the muscles again just like at the start. by the end of the season, your body "should" be holding up, and you will want to play again. At the baseball club I play for, we have 1x64 year old, 2 players turing 60 this year, and my father played until he was 60 but stopped because of a heart scare!
