Hey guys, need some advice, the bloke who bent the renault in post 4 wants me to remove the photo from another forum because he is trying to claim insurance. Firstly this is fraud, secondly the bloke was an absolute F#@KWIT. Do you think I should remove the photo? Secondly, does anyone here work for any insurance companies as I will gladly pass on any photo's WITH number plates.

yeah but joey, It's too hard to make a cardboard xr6 the right size. Otherwise you could go and get a model and let them pick that up but definetly a con. Play with their head for a while, let them think you will give the okay and when he is just about ready to 'deposit' the money say the car is sold.

What Is Your Prefered Method Of Legal Racing?

Yeah but those mongrels are just psycho suicidal idiots. Don't get me wrong, love rallying but it is just TOO much of a close call on every corner. Have competed in a bit of rallycross and my father was head mechanic for a 3 time ARC champ but nah, wouldn't get me doing it. -
not many 500's in that photo.

Okay, my questions are based on whether anyone was making these or notas my dad is a fitter and turner by trade (40+ years) so I was always going to get him top make one anyway but just curious. If anyone wants one my dad can make them up and can be yours for $40. Only made out of steel though, no fancy stainless or 4140 high tensile stuff. It's funny that you say about $350ish for the M/cyl as I was quoted by Cumberland Ford $550 with a trade order. Quite fun putting the bugger in though, especially in pitch black without a torch and without the right tools but got there in the end. Also surprising is the clutch feels lighter now, go figure that one out.

im part of the commitee of a baseball club here in western sydney, our ground gets watered along with the AFL field and athletics field once a week every tuesday morning at approx 1:00am. The water used is mainly run off water that is collected into resevoirs and pumped into the watering system. I think about 10% of the water used is mains water. If these other footy grounds want to water they should only be allowed to do it this way IMO.

Just a few answers wanted. 1 what is the average entry fee? 2 what is an annual ANDRA license worth? 3 what is a set of MT drag slicks worth? 4 Seriously, how much actual RACING time do you get per meet? For cicuit racing these are the answers I have come up with so far 1 $150-200 (depends on the organizing club) 2 My current cams license cost $90 from memory 3 Racing slicks for my sports sedan are $325 each (can get cheaper but why would I). These will last me about six (possibly more) 'meets' the way I am using the car at the moment 4 At the last track day I did, I had about 1 hour in total on track. My father in the same car was out there for about 45mins in total. That was $165 for his entry, $65 for mine as a secondary driver and 1h45mins worth of driving. -
Has anyone else had this happen, just got a phone call from the missus that the clutch no longer worked, got there and found this clip in 2 pieces on the floor. Does anyone make a replacement? Does ford make you buy a complete m/cylinder? Cheers

RACEFPV, Can't afford to head down then as going down there on May 10th. and then Ocober at Oran park. ZAP, What sort of sports sedan did you race, My dad and uncle were also into the SS's at Amaroo park (RIP) and Oran park (soon to be RIP) many years ago. Where I learnt to be biased I suppose. POSTitute, I can see where your coming from and not meaning to knock it, that's why I want you to 'enlighten' me. Honestly I will never get out to the drags, not to watch OR to compete as it just doesn't interest me but I want to know why it does it for you guys. -
Just wondering what is everyones prefered form of motorsport to compete in? I was born and raised in circuit racing and honestly can't see the point in drag racing (don't flame me, just stating my opnion), I mean, its all over in a matter of seconds, really about the only ability you need is a good reaction time at the start (at these street levels anyway) and then you have to line up again for another few seconds worth of racing. The advantages I see in circuit is that the runs are longer, there is more competition all at once, you actually need to stop the car and turn corners, AND have the presence of mind to be able to think about what someone else is doing as well. Anyway, can someone PLEASE enlighten me as to why it seems every man and his dog now only wants go out to the drags and also to know "what'll it do down the 1/4 mate?"

RIP Geoff, To his family, stick together in these times, all our thoughts are with you.
-
Hmm, sounds like I did myself a favour by not watching this round huh.
-
yeah that is why I had to read it twice to realise that. Cheers.
-
Geez hypno, had to read that twice, misread it or didn' read certain words and thought you were saying well done but your wrong. As I said, if I can be bothered and get all my other work done tonight I will have a search for all 3 articles but don't get too excited.

Something I read a few months ago (just can't be bothered searcjing the internet for the article) was about the highways in the NT having speed limits applied. In the FIRST 12 months road deaths on these newly speed limited roads rose somthing like 400%!!! Apparently the new state power (whatever his/her name is) is now investigating removing these speed limits. This is an indication that not all laws are thought out properly. They obviously thought that by lowering the limits that it would be safer, not taking into consideration the amount of people that would fall asleep. An almost identical situation happened in Vic quite a few years ago, a section of highway was deemed to be a black spot, the limit was lowered from 110kph to 90kph and in the following 12months the deaths nearly tripled. After the limit was raised back up the deaths went back to 'normal'. Yet another example is the F3 heading north out of Sydney, a section was lowered to 90 (or was it 80,can't remember now) to try and lower the amount of accidents in this area. Needless to say it didn't work and now the limit is back to what it was with the limit automatically lowered in wet weather. As to the hoon laws, if you read back a bit you will see my views and I ain't going to add any more to that useless debate!

A bloke I know used to sell car parts in brisbane. Ocasionally he would ring up and say he got real good money for something and we would just laugh and say "you thieving bastard".His come back would be "HEY, I never said I wasn't a c*nt!"

The F430 exhaust has a diaphram activated valve in the exhaust, when the valve opens the exhaust basically bypasses the complete exhaust system, straight from the extractors to the tips basically. see photo for what I mean, not complete system though definetely makes the note louder but unsure of flames as the only time I have followed one was on a bright sunny day at Wakefield Park.

I dunno yet, until I see it in the flesh I am gonna hold my judgement. The "racoon eyes" are just so wrong to me. Then again I might see one in the flesh and fall in love. Either way, ALL FPV's are safe in the knowledge they won't be parked out the front of my place any time in the next 3 decades. (Mod, please insert smilie showing empty pockets, TA)

Geez, and I thought this got sold for $1
