  1. I love my state and the blues but I can't honestly see NSW being anywhere near those damn canetoads. Reckon QLD by 20+
  2. SH!T, You managed 5 mins, with a 3600mah battery I was lucky to last 3 mins flat out, had to regulate my speed until 2 minutes to go and even then it was touch and go. Senna, PM sent (in a sec or two)
  3. post a good pic of the wiring when you get home, I can kinda see it but not well enough. Is the steering servo in the #1 slot in the receiver and the speed controller in #2. Was the steering servo centralized before fitting the steering arm? And did you program the speed controller (or is it mechanical)? What turn is the motor? If it is anything over a 14/triple you will melt those clear plastic connectors, go into the workshop and ask the guys for a couple of automotive crimp connectors, bullet style is best, use them between the car and the battery and also solder the motor directly into the circuit. If you want a hand, where do you live, we can meet up and have a look at it.
  4. I can't believe that yokomo have gone shaft drive! They were like the pioneers of belt drive. electric motors do need running in, don't give it full throttle on acceleration for a while nor max speed. Try and use about half throttle for approx 2 batteries just running around a local carpark. Tell you what Pat, I will get some of my cars going and we can have some fun. Currently have a, Tamiya 4wd on-road gas car, an OLD Tamiya 4wd electric on-road, a near full carbon fibre belt drive race chassis Tamiya and a 4wd-4wsteer monster truck with twin electric motors, it may be slow but it goes over just about everything!
  5. well I would be downright ashamed to put that on the internet in reality. IF his car did 0-100 in 4.93secs then the car took another 15secs to reach 200. that would be pretty bad for a car that can do the first ton in under 5. (not that I have done it myself on the road.)
  6. Who's there?
  7. cheers everyone, your well wishes are felt all the way to my/our hearts. Thank you to the people who will donate, as said above that it is a little late for my nephew but for what cure our kids has done for him in the past, I will carry on supporting them for the rest of my life. Dan, Buffy, as you said, this forum does have the usual shennanigan's etc but we do have a common love, our families and our cars. Thanks for the offers of help.
  8. Although most of you don't know me, I have some depressing news. My 3yr old nephew was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer (a very aggressive cancer) about 14months ago. he was given an initial 20% chance of survival. After a year of treatment, surgery (many times) and all the other crap that goes with this bullsh!t problem we believed he had been cleared. Unfortunately we recieved the news today that the cancer has returned and the poor little bloke has just weeks to live. I am not asking for any donations towards my wife's sister and brother in law but more that if you can afford it to make some donations to "Cure our Kids", a non profit, non government backed organization that helps in the day to day stuff and just making the lives a little better for kids and their families affected by cancer. Any donation will help, late last year my baseball club raised $16,000 during a benefit night that was greatly appreciated but doesn't really go that far. Link to the website, http://www.cureourkids.com.au/main.htm Again, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this guys.
  9. I leave the T/C on in the dry yet turn it off in the wet. Reason for this is that have had the car step out on occasion with the T/C on in the wet, corrected the slide and T/C cuts in wanting to send the car to the outside of the bend. I may only be 27 but I have been driving in some shape or form for 23 of those years, plus karting plus now owning a sports sedan. All my very early driving was on grass so you quickly learn to control a car but when you want to do one thing and the car then does another it can be dangerous, thus why I turn the T/C off. (I also have a manual so total control on gears) And I.B, if I could turn ABS off, I probably would, there are times when you wish/need to lock the brakes a certain way. whether that be front or rear brakes, sometimes it's just needed. All that said, for the drivers out there that have no idea on how to control a car, these systems are life savers.
  10. where's my popcorn, this will be interesting! found it
  11. while not fostering, my auntie adopted (legally) a kid from brazil, he was on deaths doorstep and wouldn't have lasted much longer. When he arrived in OZ he was only about 2 years old but had the mental and physical condition of a 12 month old. Has been in the family for 15 years now and while he has had his ups and downs etc it is good to know that they have made a difference to Olivers life, shown him true values, shown him love and given everything they possibly can. On your situation Flukey, I applaud you mate, the amount of love you will receive out of these kids as thanks will last a life time and don't be at all surprised if you stay in contact with most of them for the rest of your life. Congrats and hope it all goes well for you. And Bionic, hope it all works out for you and your grand-daughter.
  12. damn sunday drivers, GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!!!
  13. me neither! Although this tax doesn't figure in my plans as I will never be able to afford a new car worth that much, I am worried about what else they have in store for us.
  14. I am going to a track day and in ABOUT 25 hours I leave to go to Wakefield. This is a Ferrari track day so at any stage there can be upto $5million worth of cars on the track. They generally don't like being passed down the main straight or being absolutely hounded through the corners by a N/A 4 cyl that cost $15,000 to buy. Hehe, can't wait!
  15. REAL competetive, $1500 per set of full slick tyres, last between 1-4 meets. Fuel, $150 (depending on motor size obviously) Entry fees range between $200-$500 depending on what catagory and what classification the category has. Factor in consumables like pads (<$200 a set) discs $? depending on what you need, belts and helmets need to be changed every few years, bent panels. Spares, depends on what you want to carry but we carry a full set of slicks, pads, discs, oils, spoiler, +++ and that is just to a meet, not including what we leave at work. It really isn't that hard to do, getting started is the main hurdle, once you start everything starts to fall into place, you get more spares, more idea of how to regulate money towards it, and the race meetings aren't generally that close. If you can afford to start I would recommend it, best to do as someone on the forum has done and buy a cheap car out of Japan. Either that or look in Auto Action as there are generally a few cars in there.
  16. same could be said to you Pat! (me, I am about to go to work!)

    Badges On Cars

When we see a chev badge on a V8 commonwhore we laugh and think idiot! When we see a chev badge on a V6 commonwhore we piss ourselves laughing and amost cry because of their stupidity. What should we do when we see an OLD Expensive Daewoo Barina (you know the ones made by suzuki) with a Chev badge??? I actually yelled out the window and called him a wa*ker! F&*KWIT
  19. I thought it was us low life forum members that were supposed to suck up to the mods, not the other way around.
  20. I would be interested in going but a couple of things are holding me back from saying yes (namely SWMBO). However I might like to add that you 'might' want to check out different dates as there will possibly be the bathrust cruise the next day.
  21. well at least any more painful that usual. I'm starting to think that my IP will start a lawsuit against you Senna for mass download caused by your nonstop post whoreing.
  22. open a seperate bank account, even with a new bank, give him those details.
  23. A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also a blonde. The blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated. 'What does it look like?' she finally asked. The policewoman replied, It's square and it has your picture on it.' The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it and handed it to the policewoman. 'Here it is,' she said. The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying, ' Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop.'
  24. according to the RTA the is no provision for removing a fog/spot light, there are rules about this though that state no more than 6 forward facing "WHITE" lights, so basically those 4wd's you see with 2 head lights, 2 seperate parkers and 4 massive spot lights are all illegal (at least were when I did my trade certificate). Also the fog light rule is another open to interpretation for the officer who makes the decision on whether the weather is bad enough for the use of fog lights and if you get done for having them on during normal conditions suck sh!t I say. I am with sly on this rule, I HATE THEM Me personally, I only ever use my fog lights in fog (and then most times with the hazards on as well if it is bad enough) or when it is VERY dark out in the middle of no-where just to give me a bit more bearing on the side of the road.
  25. Also, anyone in the area of Wakefield Park, I am going to another Ferrari track day on May 10th if you want to come out and watch a few mill worth of cars go around the circuit. Ask nicely and they might take you for a few alps in the morning session. At present there will be approx 20 ferrari's, about 6 maserati's and I believe 1 or 2 Lambos. Not to mention possibly a very rare factory built ex rally car from italy.
