  1. In October, through my baseball club we are holding a benefit night for Cure our Kids. Among other things are a heap of V8supercars stuff that will be auctioned off both on the night and over the internet. Some of the things are a custom painted racing helmet signed by EVERY V8 driver from this weekends round at Winton (have it on good authority that Skaife kicked up an absolute stink and whinged about having to sign it), a JD racing bonnet (not signed that I am aware of) and numerous signed footy stuff (League, soccer, possibly union, stuff like jerseys, balls, etc.) plus many other things that I can't even remember know. As more details for this come up I will place some links if that is alright with the mods. Just thought you guys would like to see some of the V8 stuff we are getting so will post photos sometime next week when I know more about what we are getting.
  2. I could watch that for hours me thinks
  3. Why Scribr , you don't have one no more! Or did you mean for the Yaris?
  4. Jeremy - loud and thinks that he's all that he says he is. Nup, not me. relatively quiet, always wish I could do a bit better.
  5. the difference with the brazilians is that you may find they are running their old trucks on refined used cooking oils and other crap like that as the trucks are diesels. Christ, some bloke drove across OZ in a diesel combi on cooking oils only. would go into a fast food shop and ask for their old oil, refine it and use it. From what I have heard regarding ethanol fuels is that they can be corrosive to rubber as well as if there is enough unburnt ethanol in your oil it make rather nasty work of the bearings. I have yet to see any of this, just stating what I have heard. Take that little info on as you like
  6. I think he forgot to mention that "the idiot doesn't have it anymore". weel done mate, pissed myself laughing.
  7. needs a new nut behind the wheel!
  8. my only concern with tuning to E85 at the moment would be availablity of the fuel. I haven't even seen it anywhere here yet. apparently the only place the carries it near my place is about 45kms away over towards north sydney. otherwise can't see the trouble. And yeah I have heard all the stories about decaying fuel tanks, fuel lines, fittings etc etc but I'm in the mechanical trade and haven't had one customer come in yet and I know quite a few use E10 on their upto 30 year old cars.
  9. you like pushing buttons don't you dags. I am all for the change, will take some getting used to and over time will get developed a little to make things easier but overall not bad. Only thing I would suggest is as others have said is to make the contrast on the topic search, etc a bit more different, that is the one thing that hurt my head this morning when first looked. Might also have something to add later tonight once I have a chance to check it out in the dark 'edit', damn you chris!

    Badges On Cars

I'm wondering if dags has come on a holiday to sydney in the last week or so. Have twice spotted a VE SSZ, black, chev badges front and rear with WA number plates. Maybe came over for WYD08 (thankfully that's over now!)
  12. A lot of old webers and holleys were made by each other. the carb on my 1969 Fiat 124 for example states weber holley. It does look like the carb off a early 70's Fiat 125. If you can find the carb type that will be stamped on it somewhere it will be a lot easier. I might also be able to track it down in a weber book I have at work.
  13. I got my excuse, married with a kid and a morgage! What's yours?
  14. at least I'm not the only idiot spending about the last hour looking through 58 pages of FAIL!
  15. ^^^ Hey Wendel, Where's Willie?
  16. You asked for advice, people gave you advice that you should reconsider then you tell us we are all spoilt brats spending mummy and daddy's money. Mate, I live with my wife and my son, can't afford to mod so I won't. getting further into the red every week. I ain't no spoilt brat and like everyone else here work hard for our own money too, so ---- If you do have as much talent and idea about how it all works WHAT ARE YOU ASKING US FOR?
  17. go the Fiat!!!
  18. Unfortunately at 10:57 this morning, my nephew Bailey passed away. After months of battling his cancer and growing tumours the little fellow could give no more. Thanks to anyone who was able to help and also to those who sent their well wishes. RIP Bailey Frederick Franz 18/4/2005-12/7/2008
  19. that engineers is correct, go find an old bit of cast iron that has been in the weather and drill, file or cut it, damn hard to do.
  20. yep, it seems to me that every time I log on to play games online with my PS3 I receive an update for the system, also think that there is now a wider range of games to go someway to match the xbox's range. Lucky xbox bastard owners, getting GTR, hope they see in their wisdom to go PS3 as well.
  21. I don't know if GTR is available on the xbox but check it out, my bro plays it massively on the PC and I have to say, GT4 (haven't played gt5 prologue yet) has NOTHING on GTR for realism. but it is mainly race cars only and proper GT cars etc. for realism hows this, my cousin was playing it on a FULL sim machine with even a clutch pedal. anyway he spun and stalled it. the game doesn't have a provision for a starter button however he managed to get the car rolling down a slight hill, put it into gear, clutch started it and off he went. believe it as I saw it with my own eyes.\ http://gtr-game.10tacle.com/index.php?id=246&L=1 here is their website.
  22. How a motor revs is dependant on quite a few things but mainly a combination of bore Vs stroke ratio that also takes into account conrod length & piston and conrod weight (plus a few other things) If I was to build a Barra motor full on I would get forged pistons and conrods made as light as possible, also make the conrods slightly longer while moving the gudgeon pin higher to the crown of the piston to compensate the extra length. As we all know the ability to breath is a big issue so would get the head worked over as much as possible, this would most likely include enlarging the ports and valves while getting lighter valves made at the same time. There is not much that can be done about the stroke length unless you custom make a new crank but that's BIG $$$$$$ but getting a shorter stroke will definetly help the motor rev more. Make a lightweight flywheel and clutch assembly, lighten EVERY rotating mass and hopefully you will have a motor capable of reaching 7500-8000 RPM, possibly more reliably. These are basically the things that we have done to the motor in our sport sedan that has raised the redline of it's motor by 2800 RPM.
  23. maybe contact the motor trading authority, motor vehicle repair industry council and ask them, they will be the best place to start. Will give you all the advice you need and how to go about it.
  24. Uum, Buffy ^^^^^
  25. hahahahaha, hard done by? don't know what games you have been watching or what code but they get away with MURDER. blatant flops, blatant off side, forward passes that are let go, illegal shephards etc etc
