the sierra's in 87 had modified inner wheel arches that allowed better suspensions geometry and ride height. justified disqualification if you ask me. I agree whole heartedly with regards win #10, should never have been claimed. Win number 7 was when he jumped into the #10 car, Will never know the real reason he did that, whether 05 had a mechanical failure or not. Regardless of your arguments, I still think Brock was king of the mountain but not the best touring car driver the country has ever seen. he only ever had 3 championships to his name while Dick had 5. Personally I think they are damn close to being called equally back on topic Good riddance Skaife, hope the door hits you in the back of the head on the way out! Oh and while your going please take R.Kelly with you!!!

Unfortunately for P platers, everyone does stereotype them, mainly because of the ones that are out there that drive like morons on a death wish!I think the general public have been brainwashed into believeing that there are more p plater accidents than accidents caused by older drivers. The fact is though that there are more accidents caused by drivers NOT on their P plates, BUT when taking into consideration the percentages, out of 100 p platers and 100 "older" drivers, there will be more p plate accidents. The point of all the restrictions is a valid one and something I agree with. I myself would probably be dead if I had of got my hands on something like the T when I got my P's. I did some STUPID STUPID things, and I had been driving for many years on dirt, grass and tarmac, and it would have all been attitude that killed me.

don't you mean someone got cleaned up by a piece? I don't think that would make for a very pretty sight if the angles got ugly

It is still the most successfull car in history, with about 60 wins, 6 consecutive manufacturers titles and 5 drivers titles in that same time period. As for that monster above, I would hazard a guess that thing has at least 600bhp. My dad owns an ex factory WRC grpA delta that was rallied by Greg Carr here in OZ and that thing is quick but the delta above is an absolute freak of a car. not sure I like the larger guards he has put on it though. Oh, one more thing, CAN I HAVE A GO?

Happy b'day for today smicky, made it just in time.

looks like you have organized this trip at exactly the right time. I have heard the RTA are going to drop all 100kph zones alone bells line of road down to 80kph on the 27th oct. I could rant on and on about this but won't, just have a great time on your cruise, unfortunately I can't afford to go but enjoy the road for what it is.

smicky, empty your inbox, wanna send a pm!

To actually answer your question. Balmain were infront, with only a few minutes to go, Benny Elias had a field goal attempt hit the cross bar that would have given the Tigers a 7 point lead. INSTEAD Canberra scored with 33 sec remaining to tie the scores and send the match into extra time which Canberra then scored again. Still haunts most of the Tigers players from that day and up until 2005 nearly ALL of the '89' team hadn't watched a replay. I still haven't though. I must admit to hating Manly with a passion although hate the storm just that little bit more so I was barracking for the lesser of evils as well, but the only reason I actually watched the game was for Steve Menzies, He would have to be one of the greatest players the game has ever seen and I reckon will become an immortal in the future. All round nice guy and deserved to go out a GF tryscorer and winner!

Tonight we had our charity benefit night for "Cure our kids". The helmet auction finished at what I thought was a fairly cheap price of $3765.00. The highest bidder had bought tickets for the night and then proceeded to give us $5000 for the helmet. He then donated the helmet back to cure our kids so they could resell it. The next person paid $4000 for the helmet and then he ALSO donated it back to cure our kids. At this stage it looks like we will be at Oran Park for the V8's grand finale in december to again sell it if we can work something out with V8supercars. Overall we managed to raise between $25000-$30000 (unsure until a final count is done of all receipts and so forth) plus we still have a few items to sell that didn't make reserve at auction. Thanks to everyone who has helped, a BIG thank you to anyone who has donated to Cure our Kids. It means a very lot to my family to know that there are still people out there that care for others.

apparently Bernie Eccelstone wants to introduce control ENGINES! Stupidest decision I have ever heard, Can say goodbye to ALL manufacturer support. http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?id=44187 That goes ahead I will never watch it again.

good luck getting that place, last I heard it was booked out for about the next decade! Maybe we could hire a few rooms of the new condo's that are being(have been) built between the cahse and murrays, surely would only cost a few grand a night each!
-
I reckon if we do it for next year, we arrange to meet in richmond or penrith on the friday or saturday morning for the NSW people, head to bathurst and meet the other states, stay at the vietnam vets camping ground (has some amnenities(sp?) for comfort) and is a short walking distance to the track. That my opinion and its only a couple of bucks per night.
-
maybe we need to start organizing cruises to go up there for next year, all states start at the same point and we meet at bathurst. get a few camping spots close by and have some fun! You never know, I might be allowed to go next year if the finances get a fair bit better!!!

34 is around F1 speeds (or quicker). The bloke in the T did a best of 1:00.5, my best was 50.31, (my dad got me by .11 but it was my first time there and he has raced there for the last few decades) Was quite a fun day overall, a few Ferrari F430's including a brand new scuderia (the brakes are massive and almost copped a few pearl necklaces), a lot of older ferrari's, 2 Lancia Stratos's (one a genuine Grp4), an Alfa GTV6 that was quite modified, a lot of little Fiats, Torana, AC cobra replica, EH holden (fast bugger too), Val charger, couple of Mitsi Evos and a WRX, Oh and a REAL Ford GT40! He was very lucky, he smacked the water pump belt or hose on a kerb, it boiled and he spun off on his own water while at exactly the same time his steering broke and he spun off into the sandtrap. If it hadn't of been for the water from his own car he would have buried it into the wall at high speed but as it was managed to miss by a few feet.

Good work, Wakefield is a great little track ain't it, NOTHING to hit, although have seen some people do extrodinary things to be able to hit the wall. On a little side note, have you driven Oran Park south??? There was an XR6T there yesterday while I was there and was quite a bit slower than I thought it would be. Trying to figure out if it was the driver or the car so looking for some other times to compare him with.
-
for slicks, I ran at Oran park yesterday, we started with 24 cold all round and adjusted down from there. It ended up being about 21 front and 20 rear that had a nice balance however this is on a 800kg car running 15x8 slicks so it will be different again for your XR running 1600kg(?) and 17/18" slicks. No experience with the semi slicks but would say start about the high 20's and go from there. Really need a temp gun to measure tyre temps

try these guys, they do a few V8 drivers. They also painted the helmet that was signed by all the V8 drivers that I linked in another thread. We couldn't be more happy with that thing, it is perfect. EDIT, hehe link helps http://www.raceart.com.au/ sorry

To the absolute f#*kwit driving around Doonside early this morning in what looked like a VK dunnydore at about 2:30 doing donuts, burnouts, drifting around corners, just free reving the living SH!T out of the motor with what sounded like a straight through exhaust..... PLEASE HIT A TREE AND KILL YOURSELF, raise the IQ level of the country and make it a bit safer for the rest of us PLEASE F#*KING MORON

goddamn glad my wife wasn't like that when I took her around Wakefield in the sports sedan. That sh!ts just too funny!

I voted liberal, as did my wife, her parents, my parents, my siblings and my wifes siblings. I have only met 1 or 2 people who have said they voted labor.
