  1. Hey guys one of my mates just changed his cat on his car(XR6) to an X-plode 2.5" and put it back on the dyno and to his surprise picked up roughly 10rwkw. Here is the dyno graph done at a workshop in Bayswater. So if anyone is looking to change their cat they should take a look at them.
  2. Yeah they should be releasing the twin 2.5" system very soon with a 4" dump pipe to suit so hopefully a good exhaust system can be had for a decent amount.
  3. X-plode Performance will be releasing their twin 2.5" system next just over a week and also a 4" dump pipe which will be competitively priced and a lot cheaper. So if you could hold off you for a bit longer you could get one of theirs.
  4. Hey guys you can add them on facebook as well to stay up to date http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001660562775
  5. That is fair enough and good logic and makes sense however as you stated you do not need that much flow to make good power still.
  6. I don't see how it would have 50% more flow as the inlet and outlet are the same the only difference is the body is 1" bigger however the results speak for them self and am happy with it
  7. I went with the 4" body as it fits nicely and there is no difference between the 5" body and the 4" body one as it made for a lot more flow. I am really happy with it and for such a simple mod I made pretty awesome power and this is with the stock catback. I am going to leave my catback for now but they are making a twin 2.5" stainless system for our cars as well so will see later if I want to change mine.
  8. Yeah 5 years Warranty and it is 304 stainless steel
  9. I can only find the first dyno sheet will see if I can find the other one.
  10. Hey guys have not really posted much here but thought it was about time to I have a BF XR6T which was making 280rwkw with just an Intercooler, 60lb injectors and a CAI and custom tune (exhaust is stock) I then went in search for a high flow cat as I do not want to change the entire exhaust as I am happy with how it sounds now and only want to run low 300rwkw. I then found a company called X-PLODE PERFORMANCE which specialise in exhaust products and high flow cats and spoke with them and they were very informative and very friendly and pointed me to their X-PLODE 3" 100cpi cat. They explained to me that once fitted I would need a retune to stop it over boosting but I would pick up more power and hit boost earlier due to less restriction. so I purchased the X-PLODE 3" cat and fitted it up and babied it to my tuner where they fixed it up and dynoed it again and it then made 310rwkw with boost kicking in alot earlier than it was before. When I saw the dyno figure I was shocked and very happy and sent them an email to X-PLODE PERFORMANCE thanking them for all their help and told them the figure I achieved. The cat converter only cost me $170 with free postage and I think that is a bargain compared to other places which were quoting me $250+ for one. If anyone is interested they should check them out www.xplodeperformance.com or email them at michael@xplodeperformance or xplodeperformance@hotmail.com
  11. Hey guys I currently have a BF XR6T and recently put a full exhaust on and thought I would comment on the cat converter having been around modfying cars now since I was only a kid. When upgrading the cat converter I was always being charged $270 even up to $300 without labour for a high flow cat converter. I was told by one of my friends about a newly formed company who are selling performance exhaust parts and also high fow cat converters and at only $160 for a 100 cell stainless metal cat. I talked to Vince @ X-plode performance and he explained to me about how the cat converter works and what it was made out of etc and he was really informative. So I threw on the a 3" 100 cell high flow cat and was amazed how much more flow it made. Thought I would just see if anyone else has used them on their car because I would definately recommend them.
  12. Hey there I am currently have a BA 4 speed auto NA I6 with full exhaust, growler airbox, 20% underdrives and a custom tune an am currently running 175+rwkw. However this car will never be an extremely quick car and am coming near the end of modifying it. With the money I save from not getting 4.10 diff gears, cams, and port and polishing the heads I could slip myself inside of a turbo which will desimate and make 3 times as much power. That being said I am looking at upgrading to a turbo in August/September and am wondering what sort of mods I will need to run low 12's high 11's? I am wanting to know what mods as well as the brand names to use and also what sort of power and which work shops to go to down in Melbourne. So far I have G&D performance which claim to send you into the 11's for the same price as a set of new wheels or there is HPF which have modified my car and tuned it to date. All you turbo owners out there please drop some advice and share your knowlege. I would really appreciate it. Regards Michael
