  1. Ok great, Have u heard any outcomes of using the Autronic with the Barra motors. I will definately chase them up if the ECU wont run it
  2. It is a BA '04' Turbo and is an EL Falcon. The plans are to turn this car into a dyno car to go beside my boss's car - GAS2JZ a 1200RWHP Supra. I want to run the standard BA Turbo Computer but am not sure if it will run without all the rest of the BA electrical hardware and im sourcing my options if I have run an aftermarket computer which I know none can run Dual VCT, which I will have to lock if I do run an aftermarket computer. is this correct!
  3. I would like to use the standard ECU but since the motor is an EL im sure if I can use the standard computer, so in case I have to opt for an aftermarket ECU im just trying to understand what has to be done to cam gears only to bypass the Dual VCT and the aftermarket wont be able to run it, not planning to change cams.
  4. Sorry, Yes I have a complete Barra Turbo motor in my EL, still fabricating exhaust and frount etc but am already thinking about the ECU problem I may come across. I have not dealt with many standard ECU's due to using only aftermarkets at work. But I beleive Loop mode is where the ECU detects a problem and does not let the motor rev past a certain point or running all together. Since I am using the standard EL ignition barrel and instrument cluster etc, im not sure if the standard BA ECU will run without all of the other BA electricals. Is what I am talking about not Loop Mode but something else, just so we understand each other.
  5. Can someone help with understanding what will cause a standard BA ECU to go into loop mode. I have motor in an EL and want to run the standard computer with edit but dont think I will be able to as im afraid the standard ecu will go straight into loop mode when it doesnt detect the BA ignition barrel, abs modules and BA everything else. Would this be the case or is there way around it. I am prepared to run an aftermarket computer if it is the only alternative. What ECU do you's recommend. I work for Gas MotorSport/RotorMaster and am quite familiar with Motec, Haltech and Microtech but am not familiar with Dual VCT at all. I have posted a topic about locking up the cam gears to run an aftermarket ECU as im not sure if any of these run Dual VCT. If someone can help, it would be very much appreciated. Thanx Samo!
  6. I have heard of people locking the cam gears when the run an aftermarket ecu, I understand that the cam gears are electronically and hydraulically advanced and retarted. But what would happen if the cam gear plugs were unplugged - would both cams stay at 0 degrees or will they stay advanded or retarted. Is there a chance of them adjusting even though diconnected. Are there any replacement gears available that can be manually adjusted like on 2J's (Very Familiar with them as I work for Gas Motorsport/RotorMaster) I ask these questions as I am pretty sure I will have an aftermarket computer for my motor as I understand the standard BA computer will go straight into loop mode which I have posted more questions about in the ECU section as its more appropriate there!
  7. Not an all out system at all, jus doin sum research for my sister as I will be fitting it all for her. Does it have RCA preouts or just enough to run the standard system.
  8. Hey guys, Ill help keep a general topic in the general thread. Does the standard head unit have RCA preouts for extra amps before I pull it out of the dash, I would just like to throw 2 subs in the back. Or what is the best way to run extra amps from these units. Thanx!
