  1. Hi Con, thanks for tuning and setting up my XR6T. I am a very picky customer but Con did earn my trust by delivering a quality end product and sorting any issues that arise in the most sensible manner. I commend him and CV on their ability to ensure the end product is first class and happy with the end result. I would strongly recommend talking to CV about next upgrades and do recommend them to fr

  2. I took a mate out for a ride in the XR6 Turbo last night. This guy has never driven one so I let him take the reigns. He has owned Mitsubishi GTO twin Turbo, Audi S4, Lancer Evo, Subaru STi, Porshe Cayenne turbo and his dad had a Lambo Diablo so hes no stranger to performance cars. I let him take the reigns of the T, 307rwkw of it. At First we just just cruised around, nothing special here, then he found a bit of a straight and opened up on the throttle, as the boost comes on, the rear tyres loose traction, bangs it into second. Geezus He just looked at me and said this is ridiculous. He reckons none of his previous cars ever punched like the XR6T on boost. Very very impressed. What was more impressive was how off boost it drove around and sounded like a stocker. He was also stunned to hear about how cheap they are to modify to this level of performance. When I drove home, coming onto the express way, the car absolutely felt super quick, the air was nice and chilly and ive only owned it during hot season so I cant wait for the nice cold night for a blast down Wsid.
  3. I have 307rwkw. Im just glad to know the power is there. Lost my license (double demerits weekend ) so im on the 2 points for a year deal with the RTA so I have to drive the XR6T like a *beep*. That should ensure reliability though. No boosting it up, drive it off boost, no power through gear changes as im scared of my auto blowing to smithereens. I gotta keep my license. I wont even take it to the track, its enough to know the power is there for the BBQ discussions, doesnt mean you gotta abuse it.
  4. Hi, I just my auto rebuilt (4spd, XR6T) and since then its now got some funny manners... When I drive in tiptronic mode, just cruising, it changes from 2nd to 3rd, then without me it feels like another gear change is happening? but its still in third. Then I change to 4th and its ok. But if I dont wait for this strange phenomenon to happen if I try to change to fourth early, the gearbox flares and then goes into fourth. But after this strange phenomenon there is no flaring and it goes in properly. Is this normal??
  5. Hi, my xr6T sits on about half way as well. I changed to a cooler thermostat, it keeps it running a bit cooler for a while but eventually it just goes back up to about half way. On the highway it runs cooler but as you start driving, after a few bursts of throttle its back at half way. Probably a waste of time mod.
  6. So many people got caught, I exchanged details with so many of them, they were all confused about the speed in the area. Police had no intention of slowing people down just booking them. If they had a warning up ahead or if there car was visible people would have either slowed up or still been booked as nobody seemed to know the speed limit. there are no houses about the place, its not a built up area???
  7. On australia day with double demerit points, I was cruising along, there were no speed signs, I was travelling downhill, out from behind a rock jumps out a copper. Books me along with about 20 other cars doing 80 in a 60 zone. Double demerit points. Ill post up the photos of the sneaky slimey coppers. there were no signs, they were hidden at the bottom of a hill.
  8. If you just sit there at the lights and take off with no stalling up, the Ts feel really sluggish off the mark. When they get boost different story. I drove a stock XR6T, felt like a stock 6 but it kept pulling and pulling as revs rise, very linear, almost unlike a turbo. The modded T, very different, sluggish takeoff (with no stall) but when boost comes on, its like someone whacks you in the back of the head with a cricket bat. Stall it up off the mark (spool it up) and you will need some bloody good tyres to get away. I can see his point though. If someone steps into a T for the very first time and doesnt spool up the turbo, it can be a bit of a let down. they say maximum torque from 2000rpm, I reckon its rubbish.
  9. is everyone running standard diff gears? any benefit in changing them to a 3.73 in the auto or even a 4.11?
