  5. First up sorry if Ive hi-jacked this thread. But I have similar questions regarding a BA. I have been hanging out to buy a T Ute for the past 2 years. Now I have the chance to buy a 11/03 4Spd Ute with 83XXX kms for good money. So its been owned by 2 mid 30yr olds. First owner installed a stage 3 APS system, hard tuarno and debadged, 2nd owner has re-flash tuned it added external fuel pump, injectors reaco seats, full adj coil overs up front lower springs out back, apparently the box has been stiffened and a cooler added and about 5k ago a new garret was installed. I will be getting a copy of all recipes this week so I can supply finer details if need be. I took the ute for a drive today and all I can is whoa 'I though my old mans GT was quick from the line'. He showed me a dyno print out from the shop that did the reflash and it is making 321rwkw. My main concern is about all the bad talk about the 4spd box. But most of this is in old threads that ive read. I am hoping the work done on the box is only recent and should solve some off the old problems. what are your thoughts? Will get full work print out with the receipts. He also said the diff will need to be balanced before its sold. Whats involved with this and does it cost much? Any thing else I should check? Thanks for the time.
  6. Hi Jungo, I'm currently in the same boat as you. I' am looking at getting a MKII manual Ute Next year after the new model is released. On the insurance side I have a Car and Bike Full Comp with NRMA @ 60% NCB, They have quoted me $1800 for an 05 Ute. Insured for 30K On a personal experience my Father has a 04 GT semi auto. its nice to drive on the HWY and traffic. but when u pick up the pace it just doesn't seem to keep with the pace. Also on the odd occasion you might give it a boot full it takes a few secs (as most autos) to drop back then wham it all hits, pretty dodgy in some situations when you weren't intending all of it to kick in. Its like the power is on or off, no in between 'But hey that's me' I just think you will have a lot more control in a Manual, especially with these cars and there 500nm + of torque on tap. If you can't pay cash at least save %30 of the cars value before you get a loan, As the last thing you want is to be paying $600 a month on repayments at 22yr old... Anyway best of luck with it and see u on the black top...
