  2. Cheers for the advice, ended up speaking to the seller and I am giving him a few extra $$$ and he will leave the plates on and like CBXRT said just drive it home and get it all sorted back in VIC. Can then get any money owing back from the rego and will be heaps easier. The seller has been really good about everything which helps a lot when going this far for a car. Now to wait a few more days and will be going for a good drive home!
  3. Hi everyone, I will be buying a car from NSW and I live in VIC, I was going to fly up to NSW and drive the car home (the car is 1200kms away) as I want to double check that the car is what it seems before handing over the money. I was most likely going to get an unregistered permit for the car in NSW and drive it back. It will need a RWC to get the permit which the seller has agreed to organise which should be fine as he has assured me it will pass a road worthy. Are there any other options as the car is currently registered? Is it possible to sign transfer papers, drive it home and then sort it out for VIC reg? The only other option I can think of is leaving the plates on it and signing something saying I will only be driving it for X days and will pay any fines, tolls, etc incurred. This is of course if he agrees to this. I have tried ringing the RTA about this, but they have been little help. Thanks.

  5. I found them listed on the super cheap website, thanks.
  6. I would like to buy the plugs already gapped, but been looking on the NGK website and looking at plugs for the BF XR6T they are gapped to 0.9 with the part number - BKR6EIX-P. I couldn't find any listed that were gapped to 0.8, which ones should I be looking for? Throttle body clean and checking cooler hoses will be added to the list for the weekend too. Diff oil has been done fairly recently.
  7. Hey Everyone, Booked my car into Pitlane next week for a tune and injectors (can't wait!) and want to make sure my car is running spot on before it goes on the dyno. First question is what spark plugs should I be running as it will be tuned to ~10 psi? I have done the following / will do the following is there anything else I should do beforehand? Car is a 2003 BA XR6T with 65,000kms *changed oil + filter *serviced the K + N air filter *fuel filter has been changed around 20,000kms ago (but will most likely change it again) *change spark plugs *will get manifold / turbo bolts tightened *will get the auto serviced

    Couriers

Hey everyone, I am looking at selling an intercooler but theres a good chance it will need to be sent as I live in Albury / Wodonga. It is going to be too big for Aust Post so after a courier that will deal with a one off delivery. Any recommendations?
  9. Thanks guys, good to hear what other people reckon and see some other guides / websites. I was thinking 20k or more, have someone putting an offer in today some time so see what happens. It is a lot harder to gauge what it is worth because it is not a GTS.
  10. Hey everyone, I am thinking of selling my HK Monaro in order to buy a house and would love some feedback on what you guys think it is worth. It is a standard Monaro with the original 186s and 4 speed still in it. It is in good original condition with no rust (no bubbles or anything coming through the original paint which is presentable but showing it's age) and it is fairly straight. It's done ~ 270,000kms and the engine, gearbox and diff are still in good working order apart from some leaks. The seats, roof lining, dash and flooring are in very good condition with the only real marks are on the kick panels and the parcel shelf had been cut to install some speakers. I purchased it in 2003 from the original owner and it has been garaged its entire life. I also have the manuals, handbooks, receipt, original number plates, venetians and louvre. The tags are all matching and never been tampered with. The only modifications I have made is putting a CD player in the glovebox and an alarm / immobiliser. Here are a couple photos that I have hosted on the net.
  11. Thanks everyone. I had a bit of a look on google and good things have been said for kaspersky and avast so will look into them first I think. Smicky - Norton is out of the question just for the fact that my PC is already old and slow enough as it is! I'm a bit overdue for a new one but it will have to wait a bit longer as I just signed a building contract! Commonwealth have been good about it all and said theres heaps of ways people can get the details. May have to wait a few weeks to get the money back.
  12. CR500 would be nuts to ride. I have an 01 WR426 which is enough for me, the worst thing about it is that I dont get to take it out half as much as I'd like to... Damn work.
  13. Hey everyone, Just looking to download / buy a new virus scanner for my pc as someone got my credit card details somehow and put a heap of charges on it the other night... Should get it all back, but don't want anything like this happening again! I have currently got AVG free, but I dont think it checks for spyware. Should I get 2 seperate programs for this or does anyone know a good program that will check for both? Cheers, Peter.

    Dba 4000 Rotors

Yeh there the ones, I'm happy with the price.

    Dba 4000 Rotors

Nah, I sent him a message asking if he had DBA4000's for my BA and he listed some for me.

    Dba 4000 Rotors

Well I ended up buying the brakes as it seems like a good price considering supercheap had the street series for the same price. If anyone is interested I got them from ebay from this seller http://myworld.ebay.com.au/gemicam (just send him a message, he didn't have them listed but put them up and he also has pads as well and has been very helpful with questions) so I will hopefully have them this week some time. It ending up costing $525 for 4 new rotors and was for a BA by the way.

    Dba 4000 Rotors

Hey everyone, I am looking at buying some DBA 4000's as my brakes are nearly shuddering like taxi brakes, but was wondering how much others have paid? I have been quoted $130 a corner plus $18 postage and was wondering if this is a good deal? I went to supercheap auto today, but they didn't have any and it'd be good to know how much others have paid and where they have got them from. Cheers.
  18. Hey everyone, I installed my xbox into my car yesterday and am pretty happy with how it has turned out, but I just have a couple things that I need to sort out. I have an M2-ATX powersupply on the xbox, but when the car is running there is a bit of video noise, what will cause this and is there any way to minimise this? It is fine when the car isn't running. I also have a problem (or haven't got it setup correctly) with the active switch line on the M2-ATX powersupply. I have set my xbox to turn on as soon as it gets power which is fine, but with the powersupply the active switch line is supposed to stop power to the xbox motherboard when the active switch line doesn't have 12v power anymore. This is connected up to the positive on the cigarette lighter plug and I also have a switch on this line. The thing is I can turn my car off, or flick the switch on this active line and it won't turn off like I thought it should...
  19. Yeh the battery is nackered, it just died really quickly which has never happened to me that's all. I'm used to having notice with old cars! The worst thing was it had to happen when I was stuffing around, so I thought I done something. Lol. Thanks anyways everyone.
  20. I nearly think the battery may be dead, it did crank just before for a second, and it was fairly slow... It's just I'm used to my old monaro, youd get in her and when the battery is on the way out you'd notice it cranking slower over a period of however long. This was cranking fine, I'll find out soon when my mate comes round, I'll chuck some jumper leads on and see what happens. Another quick thing, whats good for cleaning battery terminals, will something like metho do the trick? Cheers
  21. I hadn't done the wiring yet as I wanted to make the hole in the rubber gromet first which is the weird thing. The gromet through the firewall was just rubber and I was gonna put it through the the same spot as in the photo above. I had a file through the engine bay, but theres no wiring in the way though. I just had the battery disconnected on the charger for an hour or so, just to see if it would at least try to crank, but it said security code error on the ICC and when I went to crank it I could hear a relay clicking around the fuse box area and it did nothing. Thing is the car was driven last night and had the cd player on for an hour or 2 at the most. I might check all of the fuses. Thanks for the suggestions.
  22. Hey everyone, I was playing around with my car this arvo (trying to install an xbox) and was making a hole in the rubber gromet near the brake booster as shown in the image in the link below from MrBeans carputer install. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/MrB...ewall_close.jpg I had nearly made the hole big enough and then the radio was on and it just turned off. I truned it back on and ~30 seconds later it turned off again, and the boot also popped... Now the radio won't turn on and when I go to start the car it just makes a ticking noise and doesn't even crank at all.... I disconnected the battery and the radio came on for a couple seconds and that was about it before it tured itself off straight away. Please help! Thanks, Peter.
  23. I'll take 4 if there's enough spots. Thanks.
  24. Put a slower / standard tune back in and you will realise what they were like standard again. I put mine back to standard and it feels like my gf's Mazda 3 would go harder!!! At least I will get 'that feeling' back again when I tune it up again!!!
  25. They are pretty straight forward to replace if you are at least a little bit handy with a spanner. Here is a guide : http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48973
