  1. I thin I just hear don the radio they were kicked out, but I can't find any evidence to back it up. I'll have to wait till 8am for the next bulletin and see.
  2. Most likely on the beach trying to get the same 1/4 mile time as the XR6!
  3. I'll still be around! Just not in a Blue Oval (exept my work car!). If I need the go fast bug I'll buy a FOrester XT instead of an OUtback, but we'll see!
  4. Signed the forms, and accepted the cheque and watched my baby of 2.5 years drive down the road at the hands of its new owner. I had a great time in that car, it treated me well. I had no mechanical problems, and it copped a hiding with me at the helm, and loved avery minute of it. I managed to get away with only 30% brake wear, still has the original tyres, and only traveled some 35,000km in that time. It was a joy to own, and it looked after me in the resale department, costing me less than $10K in in 2.5years, that's a damn good return. Especially on a Ford! I am moving on (or back to) a Subaru in the not too distant future, but between now and then I will enjoy the financial freedom and save up some hard earned cash. So from here I bid you farewell as an active member of this forum. I will still browse this site regularly to keep up to date with this model. But my membership in this exclusive club has come to an end. Thank you to all who I met, and those that I cruised with, great times, all the best!
  5. not bad at all considering its a T5 ← Was the 'only driven on weekends' vehicle though....literally How many k’s Al? How's that xt power going? ← 34,000 in 2.5 years The XT is going very free thanks, its amazing how enjoyable a car is to own when it cost three parts of fark-all.
  6. Just sold mine for $29,000 - There's always the right buyer to take it at the right price.
  7. No but show were it makes sense to through more than you have to down the drain for the sake of what? Driving slowly through a populated cafe region with your windows down?
  8. I have mine for sale for $30K and have had a few people interested. Get the feeling they will pay around $28-$29K though....
  9. Interesting to see they complain about there being no lockable glove box, but the failed to mention the lockable storage tray under the front seat. It makes me wonder, if they missed that little detail and made part of the cars package look bad, what else are they overlooking...
  10. So if Ford release a Fairmont Ghia with FPV engines, then they will be releasing the fastest depreciating car in Australia with the fastest Aussie engine. Sounds like a very good reason to stray well clear if you ask me. Maybe as a second handy in 3 years time when they have droped 50% of their value. I'll stick to the utes thanks.

    03 Vs 04 Weights

That would explain why my ute weighs over 1900kgs with passengers.

    Squeaky Rear Springs

I had a squeak develop when I lowered my ute, it was the nuts that clamp the spring together on the axel, it was very loose, as mentioned a few posts up, it has to be super tight or it will work loose and the springs will rub and squeak.
  13. I will have to agree. Mine is straight along the sides but warps along the back when cold, once in the sun it pops up in the middle and straightens out on the back. Since its dark and night and its straight in the sun I'm laughing. temptingto go get a BF lid though, but I hate the 10" thick side.

    Selling The Yoot

That doesn't help, I'm selling the car and keeping the plates. Not the otherway around!

    Selling The Yoot

There's only enough room for one of us more to do with $130K a year and two more new cars (3.0R outback and ST-X Navara).
  16. OMG! That is insane!

    Selling The Yoot

Will do Trent, it pains me to think of selling my beast. Its the best Ford I have ever had. Fortunately I will be blessed with good resale values, no new Expensive Daewoo ute, and the BA/BF still being the pick of the too with private and trade buyers. And while everyone is rather rich in SE Queensland right now with all the development, there should be a lot of buyers. I'm not seeing too many T utes hang around in the trading post for long.
  18. They are seeing quite a few Territory's though tearing the plastic pan off them when going off road. ← Which isn't related to HP or Torque but ground clearance! Good to see Ford have something that doesn't require its final stages of development testing done by the consumers. Aka, twin plate clutch

    0 - 100 ?

Someone quoted MOTOR/WHEELS with a 7sec pass for the Terry, I belive the Forsty can clock the same sprint in 6.0sec dead. Big difference, but the Suby is half the size.
  20. I am gearing up to offload the ute, as I about to venture into a business partership and my current company car will be for my exclusive use. So its not needed, and the funds will go towards my business. Now, selling the car is easy, but what do you do with personalised plates? Do I change the rgo and wait for the new sticker and then advertise it for sale? Or can I sell it and change the plates as the ownership changes?
  21. So do I - but I find the N/a motors turn over just touch more than the Turbo ones (at least in my case, and the same could be said about my old ED, which started every time, just not if I let go of the key too enthusiastically). I pause on the on position as a habit I picked up from driving Turbo Diesels, waiting for the glow plugs to warm up. Now I pause on everything I drive. If you let the key go part way through turning the engine over and it dies, good luck starting with out sounding like a taxi that won't catch for the next 30sec. It says in the manual to let the car sit for 10seconds before trying to turn it over again so the ignition system can sort it self out.
  22. It's just trying to persuade you to drive the T ← THe T has never miss-fired, I have gotten used to it catching at the same time after turning the key, so I release it instinctively, whether it has caught or not. The T will always catch, but the XT will sometimes take an extra second of turning over. All I am doing is not holding the key long enough. Its no the cars fault! Its mine!
  23. Did it again in the XT today, didn't start, left the ignition on and when I restarted it, I got 4 beeps.
  24. This happened to me in my work car on friday (XT), started it and I let the key go too early and it died. I let it sit for 5sec with the ignition still on and then recracked it, it started but I got the 4 beeps. I too thought oil pressure but since I know its ok I ignored it and never heard it again. That explains it
