  1. yeah bad as, think when the rear squats down the wheel rubs on the plastic inner guard at the back, if ya punch it in first it just had a clicking/thud sound. Maybe its for a good thing though stops from doin skids, 20s only lasted about 2000ks down to the markers.... looks hot just cant drive it as hard anymore...

    Dyno'd

The tuner said they could have been a bit richer but were ok, think around the 12 mark...was pretty lean at the idle around 15 or something...not 100% sure on the numbers. Most probably going to get exhaust and injectors and bump it upto around 300

Put my ute on the dyno this morn, oct 07 bf mk2 xr6t ute rapid cooler kit and cv flash tuner factory tune pulled 217rwkw 8psi pulled 257rwkw 10psi pulled 265rwkw tuner said there was more in the tune the timing was down, but im happy with 265kw for now:D
  4. had a look under the ute today after some more banging from the rear when gettin sideways, near the front of the spring where there is a clamp to hold the springs together it is smashing the chassis...
  5. Also forgot to add another $140 for bushes for front rear and centre of springs.... parked it up before and took a pic, diff is sitting on the bump stop cos other side is in a ditch...looks hot....thinkin I might chop the bump stops and get 1 inch lowering blocks:D anyone find the rear wheel is closer to the front when lowered? also where the spring bolts up at the front there is a second hole up and back more?? anyone know used that hole?
  6. yeah ripped the bar right off..ha nah its not that low....with the 20s its only really back to standard height in the front now.... Got em from autobarn fronts were $125 and rears were about $330.... bump stops are about 15mm from the diff now, gassed it up last nite and hit some bumps a thought I blew my diff cos it was axle tramping and smashing the bump stops.... getting it dnyoed tomorrow....fingers crossed
  7. got the rears in today..... front now is 345mm rear 335mm from top of guard to centre of wheel.... front is a little higher than the front now, kings reckon that's the lowest spring they make for the bf mk2... rear feels good now, before it was very skatey feels solid now, fronts could be a bit stiffer
  8. You can get airbags for the rear on ebay for about $500, just to bags that sit between the chassis and spring and you pump them up at the servo or if you have a onboard compressor. They alow you to put the lowest springs in then just pump up to ride height when driving or got a load. Just look up mini turcks on the net heaps of dodgy stuff there, you could take all the leafs out cept the main one and then put the bags in cut the bump stops out and it would sit low as. Probably would trap like a bastard though.

    Krooked`s Ute

You just have to take a little bit at a time, its not like 10mm off the spring will lower it 10mm. I measured the standard spring and the lowered one and the lowered one was 45mm shorter but only lowered the ute about 15mm because the spring is a stronger rate spring. Im not sure about breaking stuff because there is alot of xr's gettin around with drops more than 20mm. Just have to make sure that the spring is still tight in the strut after the cut so it doesnt flop around when there is no weight on the spring. Plus the spring will be softer because it has less coils to hold the same weight.

    Krooked`s Ute

Yeah I just got some front coils and 801s for the rear cept I think they stuffed up cos one spring is marked FOR800/100 and the other is FOR800/85. Put the fronts in and it droped about 15mm kings reckoned it would drop 30mm and they reckon the rears should drop 60mm so will see when I stick em in. Might just put in a spacer and chop a bit off the fronts if its still not low enough, fronts still have a bit left before the spings arnt captive anymore...
  11. My springs arrived for the ute today... KFFL-53SSLHD and FOR-801s for the rear Only installed the fornt for now, lowered it about 15mm after a bit of driving, still hopeful that it will drop a bit more. king springs reckoned should lower 50mm on standard bf mk2 and 30mm on XR. standard height was 365mm from gaurd to centre of wheel and rear is 395mm well post up some after measurements once its settled in.... In the user manual it says when installing the strut the bottom of the spring faces forward on the lhs and to the rear on the rhs, is that lhs when looking from front of car or when sitting in car? the drivers side was facing the front when I took em out....confused
  12. How much boost is that on? what do you think is limiting more power?
  13. Hey I got a nov 07 xr6t and it only has the single intake aswell, pretty sure that's how its meant to be. What mods you done for 300kw? cheers Josh

    Krooked`s Ute

How much did it end up costing for springs? whats the height from centre of wheel to wheel arches? is the for-801's what you have in the back? this is what I got told from king springs FOR-803's will lower approx 30mm FOR-802 will lower approx 45mm FOR-801 will lower approx 60mm
  15. Hey I got a set of 20incher dirty dogs on a octane ute. did you find that there was alot of weights on the rims? check on ebay you can get full set of springs for $220, 670 seems alot of money for springs, and another $400 for a camber kit seems a bit rich. cheers Josh
  16. I emailed king springs and got the same thing "We have King Springs Part No's KFFL-53SSLHD (front) & KFRL-68SSL (rear) to lower your vehicle approximately 30-35mm from factory std height." so then I wrote back and said I had a xr and wanted to lower it 30mm from where it sits now, and they said this "Sorry, yes from XR height these coils will lower the car 30mm, 50mm from STD height." so im not sure first they said 30-35mm from std height then they say 30mm from xr height and 50mm from standard. unlucky cos I could have gotten au springs for $50:( stupid bf ser2...ha

    Krooked`s Ute

Hey Mate whats the spec of your springs??? looks good that's how I want mine... cheers Josh
  18. Hey I noticed the same thing in the catalog....??? I am getting some sl au springs to put in the front of my bf mk2 ute, hopefully they will fit.... cheers Josh
  19. xr6t bf mk2 ute 3800ks on the clock avg fuel for last 500ks = 21.5l per 100 avg speed = 29km/h 2000k trip home was gettin about 10-11ltr per 100 that was avg speed of 110 and with probably 80kgs in the back, gets about 8-9ltr per 100 empty sitting on 100-110km/h
  20. been offline for a while.... ute is still chugging along, took the hard cover off the other day was surprised how heavy it is. Probably going to leave it off for now car goes way harder with it off, plus can put the pup in the back instead of inside the car:D got some cobalt gauges and a pod but the gauges dont fit the pod so am looking around for a pod for the gauges, got a oil pressure gauge but not sure about putting it in because it is a mec. one not a electric one, dont want oil in the cabin.....
  21. think the bushes should be still good the utes only 4 weeks old:D yeah gona look around next week for some springs and shocks, sick of the 4b spec ride height;)
  22. I would have to say mt isa has some of the crappest roads in qld, after thinking about it my skyline goes ok on the roads but it does have 15inch rims with stocko tyres so im just putting it down to the 20s, the front end on the ute feels like it just skates over the little bumps in a row, its ok on the big bumps....something todo with the rebound rate??? I have had old cars with 30year old shocker and it has the same feeling....over the little bumps anyways... think ill have to add some adjustable shockers to the christmas wish list;)
  23. Hi I have had my ute for a few weeks now and I have noticed that on rough roads the handling is pretty bad, it feels like it bounces across the bumps as though the shocks arnt even there....kinda feels like a 4wd with 4inch lift and no sway bars..... then I got 20s and now its really crap.....I have a skyline with choped lowered springs and it rides the bumps better.... I have to admit its the first car I have had with low profile tyres and the roads are pretty bad where I live.... but I have had cars with floged out shockers and it feel the same.... Im goin to get some lowered springs and new shockers soon so hopefully that will make it ride a bit better.... cheers Josh
  24. meh everyones got darkies, enough darkies up here anyways:P and why pay 2k for some black rims I can spray standard rims black for a few bucks if I wanted to;) plus all the girlys like the shinny wheels
  25. Got my wheels today, just need to get it lowered now....then save up for 300kw:D slides a bit better with the new wheels, couldnt help myself had to do some skids;)
