  1. Heeehehe, woud be better if they had a nice, big, oldschool thermo fan.... sharpen the blades up and make cat caserole. I had this neat video of this bloke who made a squirrel catapault out of some rubber tubing and rope. Wuold be good for the cat, set it up, put some whiskers in the basket, wait patiently and then launch the cat into the side of my garage at maximum velocity... mmmm... terminal....
  2. haha. Cats suck. Bloody hairy nasty things. My neighbour suggested putting pepper around. It didnt work. I'm thinkin I might chain a baboon up in my garage...
  3. ahaha!! Scribr that's mint. Nicely picked up. That one is still at the dealership, so I still OWN the only one in town And that's not my town either, its 100k's away, so I'm still good too. Smartass.. hehe. I have heard bad things about the paint. I dont want to damage my orange goodness. Might just use the pressure sprayer thing at the carwash instead of a sponge. But I have a bigger problem. My arch nemesis (AKA Furry Feline next door) has an unquenchable desire to sit on any new car in my garage. After waking up this morning all pumped for my drive to work in my new rig only to find a pile of dust, hair and dandruff on my roof I have declared Gihad on this animal. Any ideas on how to remove it from existence? I think some lead poisoning could be in order...
  4. Thanks man!! I'm loving the good feedback. I am so stoked with it, I have been wanting one for a very long time! Good upgrade from the lux'! I am the only octane XR6 in town too
  5. Quick question actually The new model has a little anolog clock right where my fancy guages are gonna go. THis is good, as I assume it will have a ground, 12v and headlight dimmer wire already running to it that I could wire my guages straight into!! Anyone had any experience? I'm thinkin it could make my life very easy peasy!
  6. lol!! good point... I should go and write my name in rubber on the streets of blackwater! I was contemplating installing my cold air induction... but I gotta give myself something to do on the weekend while I nurse the inevitable saturday morning hangover
  7. After many long, long, long weeks of waiting, I picked up my sexy new Octane Nov. Build XR6t today!! Was a great drive home and I couldnt be happier! Unreal piece of gear! Cold air induction goes on tommorow, center muffler gets removed on saturday and the flash tuner goes on in a week or so WOOHOO! See what you rekon of the new model! By the way these are crappy photos from my phone, ill get better ones later Ahh I love octane.
  8. Man that looks phat. Must be abit rough in the arse end though? Ypurv, air guitar still hasnt arrived, suggest you check you know how to spell...
  9. That is a very, very sexy piece of automobile...
  10. I thought you were gonna deliver that one to me personally for free Ypurv4? You are always breaking your promises to me...
  11. Not sure what its like doing springs on one of these, but I fitted a lift kit to my 06 hilux a few months back and that was a nightmare. That said it was definately doable. I would suggest that if you have a good jack, some stands and plenty of all the regular tools you should be able to do it yourself. The only problem would be that if they are a strut sort of design (which they may be) you might need a spring compressor to fit the new springs on (this was the case with my hilux and I nearly killed myself with them!) Anyone with some experience care to elaborate?
  12. Hey mate! If you want a good set up made especially for the XR6, Pole Position (one of the site sponsors) have a nice tripod guage mount which is designed to fit right into your car. I ordered one a few weeks back and the quality is excellent. If you really want to make life easy you can order a set of x-force guages from them too as a package. The pod has been designed to accomodate the guages so its a pretty nice setup. THey had a good deal going on them a few weeks back, not sure if this is still current. The thread is Here Seriously if you want a nice setup, lots of people from this forum are using the Tripod and the xforce guages and it looks the goods!
  13. Tonne of Garbage? WOrks for me...

    Hi All

Sweet another one for the central queensland cruise huh Looks awesome mate! Sounds like you are in the same position as me, looking at some careful mods to make it look good and get some grunt without pissing off ford too much and screwing your warranty I would get yourself the F6 CAI and a K&N filter pretty quick too, sounds like that's an easy way to get a bit more poke and some nice induction noises too! Welcome!

    Central Qld

Awesome to see so much interest in the central queensland area! All we need now is a good idea of a place to cruise to :S Pity there is no water in any of the dams huh! I'm keen though, my car should be delivered today or tommorow! FINALLY! :D
  16. Not sure about these guages, but if they are the same as the xforce ones you should have a dedicated dimmer wire. This wire will dim the guage lights when it has 12v running through it (I assume that's how it works) you can hook it up to the wire that runs into your fog light switch, not sure what wire it is but there is one there that will run 12V when your headlights are on (obviously you cant have your fog lights on without your headlights). Hope this helps. You should search for the thread though because there is a few in-depth guage install threads with wire colours and all that jazz
  17. Makes me think I chose the right colour on my new rig ^^
  18. Lol theres a bloke here in town with a nice GT (I think its supercharged or something) his plates are HSV RIP. I rekon that's brilliant
  19. Mate, I just got hold of the Tripod guage pod and the xforce guages and they are sweet. Excellent quality and really well designed. Looks like it will be a snap to install. If you want my 2c, I rekon the more info you can have the better. Why wouldnt you want to know about your boost pressure or oil pressure? Certainly cant see why it would be a DISSADVANTAGE to have that info at your disposal. I went with Boost (so I can see if what my boost is doing when I do any mods), Oil temp (much more reliable way of knowing when your engine has warmed up before you thrash it then water temp) and oil pressure (well... self explanatory really, but I would like to know if things to bad). I believe the Xforce guages have a warning level you can set, so you would probably notice your oil pressure dropping to hell if you set it up right... I guess its up to you, but for the record I'm pretty happy with the setup I got.
  20. "The Ghost Who Walks begins his day with a short 1500Km run. Then, to warm down The Ghost Who Walks does 180 chin ups hanging from a tree suspended above a 200ft crevace over crocodile infested waters" Who wouldnt like a man like that? Reminds me of myself when I have too many rums...
  21. The general concensus I have picked up from the all knowing folk on this forum is that if you replace the intercooler you are probably going to need a custom tune. The standard cooler is so restrictive that when you bolt on a newy, the increased flow through your intake will cause you to overboost and make the car go into limp mode. Dont take my word as gospel, but I believe you can get away with things like filters and CAI, but intercooler or else a full exhaust will require a custom edit. Cheers
  22. Oh wait you said you would in your post... I'll email ya
  23. MATE! You are the man. I have just oredered and Octane XR6 turbo (november build) and have been umming and arrrring about putting black cobra stripes on it. Looks bloody awesome!
