Well I rekon your stripes look unreal dude I think they brighten the car up a bit. I put some cobra stripes on my octane XR and cant imagine it without them now. Makes it a bit unique too! Good work!

Although I'm already plotting for a full exhaust system which RDP suggest should bring me to the 400RWHP mark with less boost. That would be nice... But yes, the bug has bitten and the bug hurts. Mate, Got mine done down at RDP yesterday!! Excellent bunch of guys, they really know their stuff too. I will definately be going back for my zorst. I had cold air induction and a K&N filter, got a 9psi tune from them, came out with a healthy 330 RWHP. Very happy! Its a blast to drive. I'm sure you will get a good result :D

Hey mate, to answer your question, if your quick you might still be able to grab the cheap flash box from C&V performance (check the spnosors forum) They are selling the tuners for $495. Your custom tune will cost you around $600-$700 usually (that's what I have been quoted from redcliffe Dyno) Usually takes about 3-4hrs. Hope that helps

Yeah the media center thing is all good in theory, but it is a pain in the bum to set up. I tried a mod similar to the one you are talking about, I think it was called Tversity or something. Supposed to let you stream anything as it converts things to the right format on-the-fly for you. However, again its nearly impossible to set up, makes your computer crash like a bastard and also reduces the quality you can view at. Long story short, use a laptop and save yourself the hernia.

Yeah they are a bit of a pain. I used to have a mod chipped original xbox, it was unreal! Had all the games loaded on there, and you could hook it straight into your home network and watch movies and stuff straight off your computer. The 360 is a nightmare. It will play movies off the network after an inordinate amount of stuffing about, and even then you can only play certain ones. I got over it and use my laptop for that now. Stupid xbox.

If you want to be real lazy, I have an already butchered airbox that just needs a snorkel for it. It has also had another nice big hole cut in it for the SS inductions bigmouth kit. If you want the airbox and the ss inductions kit I have decided to not put it on my new car as I didnt want to remove the bonnet rubber to fit it. I would part with it for pretty reasonable cash if you were insterested. Just for the record though, if you dont want the SS inductions thingamie, the standard snorkel will NOT fit back up to it. PM me if you are interested though. Otherwise just do it yourself, its absolutely piss easy. I did it with an angle grinder without too much hassle.

Lol I cant believe there are so many haters of the new kit!! I like it heaps better. Especially on the Octane colour. Too LOUD ORANGE without it. I think the gunmetal grey accents really set it off Ahh the glorious 300 mark. Im going for 300 at the flywheel (bout 240rwkw I think?) just to start, and just to make sure I am not going to have any warranty issues. Then I think I will get the mal wood option 3 installed and go for: Process west stage 2 cooler with the new crossover and cold air intake (hot side) Injectors 3.5" custom RDP system with 4" dump and a big phat tune. Should pretty much do me. Later on I guess I can do the fuel pump and a few other goodies, but I think that would give me enough power haha! I would like to put a new cooler in straight away as its bloody hot up here, but I would like to be able to flash it back to standard until I get a few services under it.

Finally got some decent pics of my new rig. Its a november build XR turbo (obviously) in nice shiney Taxi orange. Turns a few heads, I like having a colour that isnt that common up here So far I have fitted the Tripod guages from pole position, F6 2nd cold air intake and a K&N filter. She is booked in for her 300kw tune next monday at RDP, cant wait!! Just wanted to bang up some show off pics, seeing as it will probably never be this shiney and nice again haha! Also people can see what the new body kit and rims look like. Personally, I'm in love... I just wish it hadnt taken me this long to get one

I dunno what you mean about the BOV being between the airbox and the turbo, as obviously this part of the intake system isnt pressurised. Any BOV you can buy would obviously be fitted on the output side of the turbo (I.E what is the point of a BOV for a section of intake that is constantly in vacuum?) The turbosmart ones come in a few different forms. You can buy a Kompact series dual port that vents both to atmosphere and also to your intake. In this case it would pipe straight into the locationo f the standard BOV. I believe they bolt straight on. If you bought the one that vents straight to atmosphere with no venting to intake then you would block off the return pipe to the intake with the provided cap as all your air would escape to atmosphere. Hope this helps mate. Also, I noticed the flutter too as soon as I hooked up the 2nd cold air intake. Sounds pretty cool I rekon! Sounds like its normal though.

That Paseo is hilarious! Very drift spec... Reminds me of a bloke around town here who has an Echo with this MASSIVE spoiler on it and flame decals down the sides... and a lovely set of black steel rims. It also looks like he has bluetacked a baked bean tin to the exhaust for the finishing touch. Very snazzy. Might have to get some of those fake vents for the turbo right..... haha!

Heres my pet ringneck Floyd... Hes a few months old. Has been very grumpy lately and goes crook at me all the time. Also has an unfounded hate of my housemate Chris.. even though hes nice to Floyd.. Crazy animal

Mate, I picked up my turbo last week with pretty much exactly the same options as you, asme colour and everything in the 6spd manual. The quote I got was pretty mucht eh same as yours as I bought mine through novated lease as well. $38k or thereabouts sounds pretty much on par, and I believe the auto's are a little more coin as well, so sounds like a good quote. The octane looks HOT on the new model as well I also toyed with waiting for the orion, I ended up going with a november build for 3 reasons: 1: Price on a new BFMK2 is pretty damn good atm. 2: I am too impatient to wait until next year 3: Being a new model, I am anticipating issues, especially since there is a new engine and everything. I would rather have a final model of a car, like the BFMK2 which has been refined and refined, less problems If you want a pic of the new model in octane give me a yell and ill swing you a few snaps! Quick quiz, can you fit this bad boy without dropping all your oil out? Or should I do an oil change at the same time? In my experience sometimes you end up with oil and sh*t everywhere if you dont drain the oil :S

Yeah I had the same thing on saturday. I asked the bloke to remove the center muffler, he quoted aroud $150-$200. He suggested I save up and go for a full xforce system instead. It kinda makes sense if you think about it. By the time you pull out the center muffler ($200) buy a hi-flow cat ($400) your half way there. The Xforce system with 4" dump and 3.5" straight through system is about $1400-$1500, and this includes the hi-flow cat.... so in the scheme of things its a tough call... I guess you also have to factor in you will need a tune after fitting the exhaust as well, whereas probably not just for the center muffler removal.
