@ xr6ixt: originally I had the front as low as the back, looked awesome but I couldnt even do a u turn and I could have damaged my guards with one bump. so I raised it, drives like it was stock I can go straight over speed humps. @ hqracer89: I was thinking of lowering the shopping trolley too . my f***in neighbours keep putting trolleys infront of my car, last thing I wanted was a ding or scratch. so I kept tipping them over and they kept putting more so I started throwing them on there front lawn until they got the hint.

sure is on it arse, but still drived beautifuly

Thanks for your help Mate (Smicky), ive already tried to do my own shonky re-connection. but it didnt seem to work. im going to pay a few shops a visit tomorrow to try and get a replacement ribbon cable. By the way the cable is standard ive had a look at a a larger touch sceeen and its all the same.

Hey Guys, ive had a carputer installed in my car for about 6 months now, and im in the process of relocating the touch screen to the bottem tissue compartment. so far I have spent about half a day working on a mould and it looks all good. the problem is I was working on the screen itself and I have accidentaly tore the cable that goes from the touch screen overlay to the motherboard ( as seen in the pictures) I dont want to go out and buy a new one cause then ill be back at step 1. if some one can please let me know, can this be repaired? how can I repare it? What can I do?

@ Bob^ - Hey Bob, looks good, I love the finish on the casing around the head unit, im working on a similar project down there too, I will be fitting a 7" touch screen and I spoke to autobarn about the "SNB 150 Desert Rose Met", no one seems to know what it is. :spacecraft: would you be able to provide me with more details about the spray can, Brand or product code. mate

Love the wheels, I was originally going to get those, I went for something a little different. I bought these wheels in 20" havent put them on yet cant afford the rubber just yet.

the project is complete. sounds awesome. took it for a test drive today to fix any bugs in the system. The first bug I found was the amp was overheating. my last option is to move the amp out of the enclosure to the open boot space. does anyone know any other ways to stop overheating. I am thinking of striping the amp out of its case, the response amp is enclosed in a metal case which easily heat up.

The screen can gain the wrong attention but I have the made sure it has the option to fold back, when folded back the screen is legal. so hopfuly I dont get caught with it up.

Hey Guy's I have added some pictures of the project. Feel free to let me know what you think? ADVICE: I ran the high to low level converter off the left hand speaker and wired it to the amp. everytime a stereo song plays the sub tunes in with the music so I flicks on and off with the song. how do I make the sub play regardless of what comes out of the left or right speaker? is there a setting so I can change the music to mono?

Got home from work 5.30 on friday, have the whole weekend to work on the project. Droped the tools at 12.00 with 99% of the work finished, once I started I couldnt stop I just wanted to see it in action. ill post some pictures of the finiahed project. let me know what you think? if the pictures dont come up can some one please let let me know how to post pictures in the reply box? thanks

Thanks Mr Bean, I actually installed the carputer about a month ago under the passangers seat but yesterday I riped everything back out and I will be relocating it in the boot. I really liked your set up that's what got me working on my one. I will post some picture of stage 1 tonight.

Hey Guy's The long weekend is the best time for a big project on the XR. I have been planning this work weeks. this weekend I will be installing my Carputer which I have been building for weeks and a pioneer sub to give it a litttle kick. Current Components - Carputer - Via GA-PCV2 Motherbaord PC1500 Mini ITX 1 ghz - 512mb ran, 60Gb hard drive - 8" Touch screen monitor - Free Incar Terminal (Interface to Control Carputer) - Sine Wave 300 watt Power inverter - Basic Car Audio - Response 2 Channel Amp - Pioneer 12" 800 watt sub - Auxiliary kit ( To connect Carputer to Ford System) - High to Low Level converter (For Rca Input to Amp) I will be posting up pictures while im progressing.

I've always loved the stripes it gives the car a bit of character I have a xr in BluePrint and I am thinking of getting the stripe in silver... what do you reckon???
