  1. Cheers K31th, thanks for that!
  2. Fair few views of this one but no comments - I'm Guessing that they must be an odd ball type of wheel. Admins, I've probably put this in the wrong forum section - can I move it to the Wheels section?
  3. Thanks masda! - all suggestions welcome. Ill start pulling things apart. Next post will probably be "how do I fix the things I clumsily broke...haha!
  4. Thanks again Lance - Disconnecting the battery fixes up the Sat Nav when it is "frozen" but hasn't helped with the redirecting problem. After about 10 minutes of driving, the Sat Nav goes haywire tells me its "redirecting" and places me on a different road to what I am actually driving on - same problem as Koze (post #6). Anyone have any suggestions before I go to my friendly ford dealer to go broke paying for them to troubleshoot it?
  5. Cheers lance - Ill have try when I get home tonight.
  6. hey Koze! Did you end up fixing the problem? I have the same thing going on with my 2012 FG Ser2 Ute...
  7. How come everything I write is coming up as if kb351wrote it.
  8. Yeah its always In the back of ya mind when owning jelly rods in a BA. Its a toss up between spending shed loads on mods or build it billet before ya start modding it. But if ya had the $4000 - $5000 for a built motor ya would put it towards a BF2 or FG. Meh.!!
  9. Universally handy for a zillion things. Never leave home without it It goes " keys, wallet, phone and shifter" before walking out the door.
  10. I only have std exhaust and dump at the moment with Venom cat pipe - only change I intend on getting is venom twin 2.5" My concern is that the swing valve appears to slightly catch on the lip of the port as it starts to close when operating by hand. Only just touches and doesn't seem to do it consistently - was that part of your issue? (providing that makes sense). The internal dimensions are slightly smaller and I'm not sure if that would help with low down response or add to boost control issues - happy to hear any feedback you have.
  11. Hey, thanks for the reply molch! So many views so few replies... I'm looking at a gt3582 and chasing about 360-380RWKW. Thanks for the offer but in between me first posting and now, the Mamba housing went on sale so I picked one up for $238 delivered. I'm not too sure about quality but will give feedback once I get moving on doing something.
  12. Hi all, I see that Mamba show that their turbine housings are already ported with 34mm wastegate hole. Would this just be simple swap out for a cracked OEM housing and remove the need for porting/wastegate flapper mods? Then just need to buy a suitable (12lb) actuator. If so it seems a pretty low cost option compared to buying an OEM housing and getting it modded, or even using an existing std housing that would require modding. Any one have experience with these housings? did you need to get extra housing mods done or just bolt on an away you go?
  13. I like your camera work you can't tell my car hasn't been cleaned for months!
  14. Thanks very much Puff, Ralph and John! This forum has so many people who happily share knowledge about this sort of thing. I've been around cars for ages but in all honesty I am all thumbs when it comes to getting things done! I'm a constant stalker on the forum and rarely say much but have certainly learnt a fair bit (it was lurking through this forum that made up my mind to buy a turbo ford ahead of a V8 Commo back in 2007). Really appreciate the help. Cheers!
  15. Another Ellenbrook turbo resident! I picked it up from work this morning. If you are floating around on the weekend it would be good to catch up so you can tell me if I've wasted my cash... Wont be the worst mistake I've made - sure to not be the last one either...
  16. I'm in Ellenbrook.
  17. Cheers Ralph!
  18. This is for my FG, so to keep my gt3576 and go gt3582 no matter what I would need another turbo. Going back to my original query, I was trying to see if anyone could help with advice for me to to check it out, the economics of the whole exercise is another story. To recap - I'll check for excess play in shaft, scoring on body by blades, cracking in rear housing. Anything else I need to look out for?
  19. Cheers guys, Thanks for the help. I might send the whole thing off to get the flapper mod done and get it professionally checked out for piece of mind.
  20. Only asking $250 for it with rear housing so not a big expense - point taken pretty cheap so probably stuffed but I figure that if it does spin its worth a look but the only thing I know to look for apart from obvious damage is housing cracks and scoring on the front from the blades but any help would be appreciated. I figure $250 plus repairs would still keep me well within new pricing...
  21. I had a bit of a a search on the forum but couldn't find this sort of info... I'm looking at getting a 2nd hand gt3582 from a BA that still has the rear housing attached. Apart from obvious damage to fins is there anything I can do to check that the turbo is Ok to use? I'm guessing a small amount of side to side shaft play is ok, is any back and forward play acceptable? Should they spin freely for long when turned by hand or can they get sticky if left sitting?
  22. When I first bought my Typhoon and had it tuned to 280rwkw the std dunlops couldn't hold the power even at that level. I swore I'd never use them again. 8 years later after trying plenty of tyres on the back with approx 370rwkw some of the no-name brands make the dunlops look pretty good. Haha! I agree with MurdoK - If the price is right I'd get them.
  23. Hi All, I have a 2012 limited edition ute with factory sat nav and its driving me around the bend (literally)... It works fine for the first 10-15 minutes, then for no apparent reason decides that the car is in a different location by about 250 metres or so and starts to re-route directions and tells me to turn at entirely the wrong time. After about another 10 or so minutes it gets back on track, then a little while later starts the same thing all over again. Anyone have similar problems that sorted it out, or any clever ideas to fix this one? Cheers
  24. Thanks very much guys. Late reply from me, didn't expect such a quick response. I'll let my tuner know the springs are there if he needs to use them. Maybe this approach will save some $ as well... I can't make my mind on exhaust so that's next on list. I had a dual manta 3" on my last car but hated how noisy it was so am still enjoying a quieter car for now.
