  1. Happy Birthday EDXR8Sprint!

  2. It will probably be absolute pressure. Does it make more sense if you subtract approx. 101kpa/14.7psi?
  3. Be careful doing 2 lots, customs can still pull you up if you get multiple packages totalling over the $1000 limit arriving at around the same time. They also include freight cost when calculating the value of the item ($900AU item + $200AU postage = $1100AU value according to them).
  4. Toyo Proxes4, I got these after the factory dunflops were rooted after 25,000kms. Much better traction, especially in the wet, and they are lasting longer without the grip level dropping off noticably. The rears are down to approx. 2mm off the tread marker and they still grip as well as new. I don't notice any undue noise, but the ute is pretty noisy anyway. I paid $320 a tyre a while back, $260 is a bit of a bargain I reckon. Maybe another one to chuck in the list is the Marangoni Mythos', mate has them on his VZ Calais and they seem pretty quiet and grippy. From memory they are around the low to mid 300 mark, I'm thinking of trying a set next on mine.
  5. I don't notice mine running any different when I have the dose pipe on and BOV removed and blocked. Notice heatsoak a bit more in hot weather cause of where the filter is with the dose pipe, but that's about it. Some people say it damages turbos, some say it doesn't. Fairly hot topic so probably best to leave it alone It's been covered before here I'm pretty sure, best to do a search. -SteveR-, check the hose to the BOV mate, there's a chance it could be cracked/fallen off, which would be a vacuum leak and would mess with the MAP sensors reading making the engine run rich.
  6. you'll notice chicks lifting their tops as you drive past, true story. did you block the vac line that went to the top of the BOV when you removed it? if not, theres your problem.
  7. I had this issue on the weekend, and I got told to have ignition in ON, then disconnect +VE terminal on battery. Alarm went off when I did it that way. Left ignition in ON, with battery connected, and just unplugged the siren itself, and that worked. Yet a mate with a Force6 tried the method that worked for me, and the alarm went off. He'd also previously tried ignition ON then disconnect -VE on battery, which also set the alarm off. I am utterly confused as to what the correct procedure is, but hopefully one works for you.
  8. Wow, what sort of tyres would you guys class as a good tyre? What size have you both had them in also, I've found a fairly large difference between sizes of the same make tyre (SP3000s, really good in 225/50R16, not so good in 235/45R17)? You should probably never try any of the really cheap rubber coming out of China either, if you think Marangonis are bad you are not going to like a set of 'Clears' or 'Triangles' LOL
  9. Anyone back-to-backed these with the Toyo Proxes4 in 245/35 19?
  10. Someone will have had to have picked up the designs, surely? I am mildly pissed off that I stuffed around and never ordered a set of FR19s for the ED now. I heard all the talk and dismissed it as internet rumour, I should have paid more attention RIP Simmons Wheels, Aussie muscle cars won't be the same without you.
  11. Yep agreed with above, I got a pair of slotted DBA5000 rotors from Cam at Hightek for 950 posted as an ebay special, top bloke to deal with. He also recommended Hawk? pads from memory, but I haven't bought any pads yet, leaning towards the DS2500s when the time comes. Out of interest how many km's are people getting out of front rotors and pads (4 pots)? I've done 62,000km, mostly freeway, and the rotors are starting to get a decent lip. Ford dealer mentioned at last service that they'd probably need replacing at the 75,000km mark... Anyone know the minimum width for the rotors off the top of their head?
  12. Wear it. If you can't afford to replace broken bits, you shouldn't have a modified car.
  13. Theres been work happening at Calder, they put up concrete blocks to stop people doing U-Turns on the entry road. Oh and they put up signs highlighting the fact that it's a private road. Clearly some major progress towards its reopening...
  14. Spotted MYWPN on the ring road, then the calder, I was in the Tornado. I was having a good look, nice ute mate!
  15. Car: 06 BFII F6 Tornado km traveled: 17,000km Engine internals: Stock Exhaust: Stock Intercooler: Stock Intake & Piping: Stock Fuel System: Stock Custom Tune: No Tyres at drags: Standard 19's 245/35 front & rear Suspension: Stock Dyno figure: 237rwkw @ Dynomotive 60' time: 2.1* 1/4 mile time: 13.55 1/4 mile mph: 107 Bone stocker Tornado at Heathcote on a 30 degree night last year not long after I got it. Was in Heathcotes infamous right lane so I think the MPH is a bit high personally, for the track temps. Hopefully be back at the track in the next few weeks to better that time on a cooler night, I think it's got a 13.3 in it as-is. How are you guys without custom tunes and the torque management removed launching these things? I did that time just doing a quick stall in Performance mode, no boost to speak of. I've played around with the 'stall in 2nd' method on the street, and it's a bit hit and miss in regards to going a bit too far on the throttle and having it close? I know that once I'm staged and the adrenaline is flowing I'll screw it up even more LOL
  16. I had to make the same decision, decided on F6... I wanted dual zone climate and leather, which was a bit easier to find in the FPVs... Bigger brakes, rims... it all sort of added up to a fair bit of extra stuff, all with warranty (which I planned/plan on not turfing, for a little while anyway), for not a huge jump in price. Brakes, overall exterior appearance and the seats and steering wheel are what really swayed me. Not really the extra power that made my decision, and if warranty isn't an issue that takes it out of the playing field almost completely I reckon. Being an FPV gets a bit more cred as well, bit of a wanker thing though hahaha. Personal choice really, I mean it can all be put onto the XR6T, but whether he would want too, or whether that sort of stuff even appeals to him, I dunno. Can't think of any major reason to go one way or the other...
  17. Guessing not-stock fuel pump and more fuel pressure?
  18. I'm about 20 minutes north from Calder park, but I work in Lavo north. So up and down the Calder/Ring Road every day.
  19. Mine is around 1600 with Justcar, I'm 23. Insured for 52k. Excess is pretty crazy though, they stack a car excess on top of an age excess, I think mine is like 1800? Anyone under 25 manage to get insurance with Shannons? I've tried 3 times over 3 years to get a quote on insuring my ED, and I got a different reason for not wanting to cover me each time. I've got no license loss, no points, no accidents, no claims, nothing. I must sound like a *beep* on the phone
  20. F40 with a 993 GT2 parked next to it.
  21. 700-800 on a 38 hour week of dayshift. Frequently do 60+, and their is 2 weeks of nightshift (30% loading) every 3 weeks.
  22. I do probably 140-150ks a day, up and down the Calder and on the Western Ring Road to work. Some days I could go insane with people sitting in the right lane. Or the good old classic, they are going dead slow, there is a truck in the left lane going slower up ahead, you move to the right to overtake both, and they suddenly panic and decide they want to cut you off and go first. Then they end up sitting next to the truck for 5kms because they can't decide what speed they want to do?
  23. EDXR8Sprint

I'm off from the 19th, roadtrip to Canberra on the 30th, possibly hit up Sydney for new years, then back to work on the 12th.
