    Noisey Brake

Hi guys, I think I might have an answer for you. we get brake squeal at work a lot. 90% of the time the squealing is from the pads resonating or vibrating against the metal caliper. The easiest way to fix it is buy a can of spray on anti squeal, remove the pads from the caliper and clean the back of the pads ( you will see the worn circle in the back of the pad where it has been rubbing againts the caliper). Then spray the back of the pads with the anti squeal (usually blue and very sticky). You just whack it back together and drive. Guarantee it will fix it. The water method works because you are basically lubricating between the pad and caliper which works for a period until it dries off and then its squeal time!!! Cheers
  3. Hey there mate I work for ford as a mechanic and every service on turbos we have to remove all heat shields and tighten all exhaust and turbo manifold bolts. A lot of the time bolts are missing as in your case. The constant expanding and contracting form heat etc just works the bolts loose. To replace the bolts we usually just replace with high tensile bolts you can get anywhere from repco etc. We also tend to put a very small amount of loctite on the bolts to stop them working loose. the bolts can be a pig to get too by the way but you should be able to do it fairly easily. P.S. just make sure your bolts arent too deep for the hole cheers
  4. Hi guys I have a quick question about the ICC. I don't have an XR yet but am looking into moving the screen into the tissue box area and installing a large screen in it's place. My question is How do you work on the ICC once it's removed, as if im right if you turn them more than 90 degrees they switch off or something. If they do can they be reset or something? thanks guys.

  6. my budget was around the 25 mark but im gonna try and budge it to about 30 and as you said get what I really want gonna go round the yards this weekend.
  7. Cheers. another option I have been thinking about is getting an xr6 and then turboing it later down the track. are there turbo kits avilable and how much do you reckon it would cost to install. My budgets really tight. Thanks guys

  9. Hi guys. This is my first post, I am looking to buy an xr6t ba mk1 ute this week. The only problem is it has the dreaded t5 gearbox. Now my question is how long do you think the t5 will last with no mods except maybe a pod filter etc. Later on I might go to the t56. I would buy a mk2 now but just can't afford it. Thanks for any help you can give me thanks heaps guys.
