  1. Check out the latest edition of Street Machine FORDS (Issue 14). At the back of the mag there is a twin turbo XR Boss and it is running a single Bosch 044 inline with the exsisting factory intank unit. The mag shows a small picture of its mounting under the car, before the fuel filter and they say its capable of supporting the 370rwkw the TT BOSS is running. This puts a new spin on the whole intank walbro/surge tank theory.
  2. After swapping endless hours of surfing for porn with surfing for an answer to my question, I finally found out that mounting the return off the B.O.V as close to the throtle body as possible, is the recomended place to put it. Obviously the other end of the b.o.v. mounts to my prowest intake pipe. Thanks mrmackie
  3. Ok. I am getting prepared to fit a few bits and peices in the aid of modding my currently unmodded T. One question I have regarding the bov is, and without making it into a big saga, Upon removal of my stock intake piping, where is the best position to mount the bov plumming? NOTE: The intake to the turbo is sorted as I have the P.W under batt air intake which includes a 1" adaptor for the bov piping, but, the return after the compressor should be mounted where? As close to the throtle body? Just after the cold side of the cooler? before the cooler? The reason for this is I have a stg1 nizpro cooler (tube/fin style) and have the nizpro rubber piping, but I need to make up an adaptor for the piping to the throttle body and couldnt see a bov pipe mounting peice on the original cast nizpro pipe/throtle body adaptor, so was wondering where it gets picked up? P.S. I dont have the Nizpro plenum I dont have any problem making an adaptor with a 1" adaptor onto the 2.5 - 3" adaptor that conects the cooler pipe to the throtle body for this, but just want to know implications, if any, of putting it there. Thanks guys,
  4. Hi mate, thanks for the reply. Good the hear the Catco is running well. I will probably make my own heat sheild out of some aluminium plate I have lying around. What sort of power are you running through it? Cheers
  5. Hi All, just wondering if the Catco's people have been putting on lately have been running well? Also, I found his site offering the Catco Cats with flanges already welded on for a decent price. http://www.justjap.com/parts_ncats.htm

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

Good to hear you got it sorted mate. Ive got a BFMKII XR6t, 21500k's, no shudder but plenty of squeeling when coming to a stop . Booked into ford to get looked at for the 30k service.
  7. Hey buddie, Its a tought question and I should know. I bought a new XR6 only to sell it 3 months later to buy a Turbo. Im a bit older than you though, but I guess its all about what your priorities are in life, and how long you want to wait for things. The XR6 is a great looking car, but if your ego gets the better of you, the Turbo will be biting at your heels, due to the ease and cheapness of upgrades that can be done for tonnes of power. Note: Nothing against your driving skills, but If you do go the turbo option, get an advanced driving course. Good luck on your decision!!
  8. Does anyone know when/what model, the heat treated shafts where put into the ZF's
  9. Unfortunatly, until I saw the light, I started with a N/A xr6 bf ute, and would get around 750k's a tank for country runs and 650k's for city. With my XR6T bf ute I get around 30-40k's less for each of the above figures, which isnt a bad tradeoff for owning a turbo. Per tank, I put my foot down now and then but not at every set of lights. I think the utes get better fuel comsumption due to the tall diff ratio 2.78. My ute is stock (for now) apart from f6 airbox and hi-flo filter.
