just on solution 2... its never done it before...
-
problem # 1. After an adjustment of my tune yesterday because of a misfire at 2000 rpm NOW when I gear down with my car it backfires awfully, and sometimes if I just accelerate a bit and dont shift gears or dont shift straight away for whatever reason it does the same. its really loud and sounds really bad for the car. ALSO at idle its really lumpy like I got a different cam in there, but feels more rough than good. - - - is this just a mistake with the tune or something worse? problem # 2. When accelerating from stationary in first there is a really bad vibration throgh the car, so bad you would almost call it shaking. it sounds really clunky and only does it accelerating from stationary and only for a couple of seconds, sort of just as the clutch is enganging. the only way to avoid this is by getting the revs up really high while releasing the clutch which I cant decide which is worse for the car. I have fairly recently fitted the Clutch Industries Twin Plate Organic Clutch only a few months ago, but there is no slipping or clunking of gears at any time. --- my diff bush is BUGGERED! could this be the cause? problem # 3. When accelerating from stationary there is a strange buzzing type noise which seems to come from the rear end. or possibly the exhaust, only when the revs are increasing at low revs and only in 1st though and after the clutch has engaged same with this again it only happens for 1 second... I personally suspect maybe that my cat is on its way out but im not 100% certain. This happens regardless of how high the revs are unlike problem #2 any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I would like to have an idea of what im dealing with before I ring my tuner tomorrow and speak to them. im going out for dinner now so I'll check this post when I get back. thanks in advance for any help.

looks like some weird rolls royce grill or something. cant say I like the look of that T or the VL's. I just dont understand how people think it looks good. sorry

it depends on what you need, a laptop like that is overkill if you just want to do emails and looks at forxr6turbo.com. I am manager of quite a large Harvey Norman store. ive sent you a PM SHYXR, as I might be able to help out with model and pricing. also anyone else who needs that sort of sh*t please feel free to PM me cheers

I think it'd look like its missing something.. why dont you try it and show us what it looks like? lol
-
Relax mate.... at least your being creative... we are just playing.... being honest I dont think it would look that good on a T. maybe on a ricey it improves the "riceness" of it, but that's about it. like I said, each to his own.
-
looks like the car has buck teeth oh well each to his own, I cant say much wanting to tint my tail lights lol
-
looks terrible. brandan you shouldv'e bought a skyline

ignore my sh*t, lol I read his you tube comments wrong.. I've deleted what I wrote in this post.

this talk about drag racing has made me want to go to calder and give my car a run, I kinda wish I had an auto for drag racing, but manual is more fun to drive around normally. I might see you at calder in a couple of weeks. I'd be happy with high 13's once I get my cooler. but then again the T5 might not pull it off with my small amount of power =( what sort of power are you making TURBOXR?
-
yeah franga is alright now, slowly getting better, I grew up around franga, im in cranbourne (sh*t hole) at the moment, temporarily until I find a new place in Narre Warren.

:fear (5): what area are you from man? car looks sweet btw! I agree with TC being off, you'll probably understand why when it kicks in for you the first time, it doesnt sound like the engine is enjoying it at all. I agree with the other guys who said CONTROL THE CAR YOURSELF as for my thoughts on fuel, it will only cost you like 5-10 dollars more to fill up with 98 instead of 95 so do the car a favour and dont be a tight ass, even without a tune, its better for the car. there are so many topics on here that will help you decide what mods to get, most of these guys are great help and really know what they are talking about with these cars.

that's why I went with the hybrid one. because I'm definately not chasing past 300rwkws at most im really only going to aim for 260-270rwkw by the end of all my mods, until I upgrade the bottom end and the T5 to a T56 I wont bother aiming for more. I just want a smooth reliable ride, and I think the hybrid cooler will help do that with the custom piping more than the stock cooler, and like I said that's all im after. thanks for all the info guys.
-
as long as it performs a little bit better than stock I'm happy. even if I can just reduce inlet temps by a bit then its done the job I was looking for. and if I get a little more power (5-10rwkws) and if boost comes on smoother or sooner, and if it sounds a little better, then that's just a bonus to me. im not chasin the type of power you guys are after, with a stock fuel pump and standard BA bottom end, I wouldnt be game enough. for $550 with piping etc I think I got a good deal.

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44663 could someone explain how the air intake works?? I notice that in the first pic the whole air intake is gone, and a pipe runs down near the IC. like I said I am a COMPLETE NOOB when it comes to IC. also do I need to relocate my battery? and where does the other end of the IC attach to? LMAO I wish someone could draw me a picture of how it works LOL :fear (5):
-
the one im buying off a forum member, which like I said im not even sure if its a hybrid one, someone just mentioned it was. its $550. 450/300/76mm, comes with different piping and stuff. it will be a bit better than the stock peices of crap. maybe not by a lot, but im not after anything fantastic. although I would have spent a bit more, I think I would be wasting my money as I didnt want heaps more power. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44864 theres the link to the one im buying. in the first post there is a link with more information on it.
-
well im not really after a huge power boost, im really only after getting an okay cooler because I read that they actually do some good to prolong the life of a turbo engine and make boost come on a bit smoother/sooner etc. I might be wrong (LoL might = probably am), I really don't know enough about IC to know which way to go.
-
yeah I was very sceptical of the Monza one... what about the hybrid one.. its for sale in the "parts for sale" section of this site.. I think its a hybrid one lol.. im not sure.. would that set up be better? it comes with like extra piping and sh*t too I think..

if you have kids, tell her the "intercooler" is to help with the air conditioning in the hot summer months, and makes the car much much cooler, alot quicker so the kids dont get all stressed out and be a pain in the backside.
-
hey guys. while ringing around to get prices to fit a hybrid IC. I was told I should just get a Monza cooler, for $550 fitted... im a bit sceptical because of the price... anyone use them? are they any good? would I be better off with a hybrid cooler, and paying the extra for install??? thanks

after this post I went and did a online quote with Just Cars, mind you im with AAMI now... they gave me rating 1 and even after listing all my mods the insurance was $500 cheaper than with AAMI... what the? ill be making a few phone calls tomorrow....
