  1. The volume is raised to counter the increase in cabin noise as you go faster.
  2. take pictures if you can.
  3. Standard audio Single in-dash CD, LCD screen, auxiliary input for MP3/PlayStation, improved security, speed dependent volume control, AM noise reduction, 100W output. Prestige audio Adds Multi-CD in-dash. Premium audio Adds to Prestige system with: Colour TFT display, digital signal processing offering a choice of sound modes and CD compression that cancels out road noise.
  4. Iv'e read a couple of times in recent posts references to the Premuim colour screen getting affected by being tilted etc. The colour TFT LCD display in the Premuim audio uses the exact same technology used in colour mobile phones, and the new flat panel LDC computer monitors. It's quite stable and only affected by extreme heat, pressure to the panel its self (which is usually temporary), or physical damage such as cracks etc. TFT stands for thin-film transistor, this baby is by and large a solid state device and quite rugged so there's little to worry about IMO.

    Xr6 Ute

No Did not notice No I'll try to get there tomorrow and take closer look. To behonest I was so busy drooling over the Phantom XR6 that I didn't see it until I downloaded the pics off the camera!
  6. Yeah me to! Perhaps this is the last of the Ford secrets to be revealed! Although LionHeart posted that he has driven a Turbo that came with LSD and no TC. I think I'd prefer TC though.
  7. I've read reviews for the turbo that range from 12l/100km with a 50/50 mix of country/city driving to a whopping 16.5l/100km for a 120km warp speed trip. I tried to find the links to the articles.....no luck :(

    Xr6 Ute

Take a look at these pics. Top LH corner theres a red ute. Is it an XR6? check the front skirt and wheels. It looks to me like there are driving lights and XR alloys. What do you reckon pics taken at Ethridge in Vermont 6/11/02
  10. So true, I didnt believe I'd want a *purple* car until the guys at Ethridge rolled it out of the showroom into the daylight :D I agree, the camera doesn't do it justice.
  11. It's never too late, most lease companies will purchase cars up to 5 years old at market valuation and lease them back to the owner :D You get most of your cash back and then have the tax effectiveness of a lease. At the risk of sounding like I'm pushing Novalease, they do this sort of thing and I'm sure other companies do to.
  12. Not so according to www.newfalcon.com.au research tools, specs and options. Ford state that ULP and PULP are both acceptable.

I saw a Venom manual XR6T ad Strapp about 3 weeks ago. It had plates on it so I thought it must be sold. Perhaps its a demo I'm gonna go back and see, perhaps tomorrow....mmmm take camera :D
  14. Glad you like the pics, The colour does vary quite a lot depending on the light, from deep blue to a bright noticable purple. B)

    On The Road

Back to the thread subject matter, Has anyone seen a BA XR6 on the road? I've seen at least a dozen at different dealers, but I havent seen a single BA XR6 let alone a Turbo on the road at all and I drive quite a lot for work :( I see heaps of VY SS though :( :(
  16. Thanks...but perhaps they are the only ones....   Well, there is that You're not a salesman by any chance?

    The Other Car

Yeah, my wife HATES the Daewoo, curses and spits at the mention of it. She's looking forward to inheriting the VT acclaim wagon. Plenty of room for the 2 kids and no kiddie seat in the XR6T :D
  18. Thanks...but perhaps they are the only ones....
  19. Novalease have a calculator to work up some basic informaation. Heres the link. http://www.novalease.com.au/novalease_calculator.asp Then just click on the calculator button. Find attached a screen shot of an example from the calculator. FYI I have no affiliation or association Novalease, they just have dab handy website for research purposes. This example is based on $46.5K ORC and 36mth lease, 80% work use
  20. It was love at first sight. Hopefully my pics did do it a little justice
  21. Yeah I'm hoping they keep it exclusive. Glad you like the pics :D
  22. Ethridge in Vermont (VIC) have one on the lot. Bugger I could have snapped that one for you as well. VERY nice but I wanted an exclusive XR colour so Phantom it is :D :D I also took some snaps of the Blueprint and Narooma XR6. I'll post em too soon.
  23. I've started a new thread in the chit chat section dedicated to leasing
  24. Thought I'd start this thread given the direction the insurance thread was going in the Turbo section Nova Lease based in Sydney (operate nationally) and lease plan both offer managed novated leases. The key to Novated leases is that FBT is calculated as follows: Less than 15 000km pa = 26.00% 15 000 to 24 999km pa = 20.00% 25 000 to 40 000km pa = 11.00% Over 40 000km pa = 7.00% where the % is the capital cost of the car. If you want more info try this link. http://www.novalease.com.au/novalease.asp So the more km's you do the less FBT is payable even if most are personal kms. If you are doing low total kms or high business kms other methods may be more appropriate. Financial advice is prudent before you rush in to signing up but there are certainly benefits for employers and employees alike. :D
  25. Heres the Phantom pics I took today. I'm no photographer so no correspondance will be entered into regarding angle, lighting etc   View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here View large version:here
