    Interior

I think most people have gone for leather. But we'll see I guess
  5. I was at Ethridge Ford Vermont yesterday and they advised me that they delivered their first Turbo on Friday. Anyone know the lucky owner?
  6. The married comment was only to indicate our financial status (Poor) thus we don't usually do burnouts. As for rights, if you are questioning a wifes rights, you are obviously not married   My wife is a bigger rev head than me! More speeding tickets that's for sure. I think I'll suceed in not putting the baby seat n the Turbo ('cause of the leather) but try and stop the little lady from driving it....not gonna win that one untill I buy her the BMW.

  9. Just wondering which model Turbo you're all gonna purchase.
  10. Yeah the BA sure can as long as delivery times are not part of the judging criteria
  11. thanks to Ethridge at Vermont I have a few new pics. Heres a few, the rest are posted in the gallery in higher resolution
  12. Sorry I disagree, the ONLY window that will affect the reception is the rear window 'cause that's where the antenna is. As for the tint recommended for the rear window, dispite what you have been told, it is standard non metalic (Dyed polyester) tint usually manufactured by 3M automotive, although there are other companies that make it. It does come from the U.S (especially if its 3M). Most tints are imported anyway. It is'nt (or shouldn't be) any more expensive to buy. Some tint Co's may rip you off after filling your head with a good yarn 'cause thay can't be bothered using two films to do your car in the "best" possible way - max heat reduction. There's no such thing as "BA" tint, it's just plain old dyed polyester tint film which Ford dealers (or any reputable Tint Co) are able to source from a variety of tint suppliers. The heat reductin of non metalised tint IS lower than metalised tint. Heres some additional info: Dyed polyester (no metal) will give approximatley 40% heat reduction Dyed polyester with an aluminium base will give approximately 50% heat reduction Metal alloy based films (some with a dye) give approximately 60% heat reduction

    Premium Brakes

According to www.newfalcon.com.au there is no mention of 18" wheels being required for the premium brake package.

    Premium Brakes

Not at all, all contributions welcome Maybe I dont know anything about brakes, but the pic posted looks just like any other Mag with a disk rotor behind it?? Anyway, the question that started this post was along the lines of what do you get and is it worth it. Between a few of us we have determined what you get. I'll leave it up to the individual to decide if it's worth the money. I'm not getting them though...
  15. The audio system will almost certainly have a "mute on call" facility so if you install a car kit you're OK. As for putting the phone audio into the AUX input.....that zing zing digital phone crap noise will be just that little bit louder and you wont like it much I'm guessing (bring back the analog phone). Sounds like a REALLY bad idea for a number of reasons including you may have to select the AUX input 'cause it may not auto sense. Also using a device to switch the speakers about may also cause you a problem 'cause if you leave the stereo outputs unloaded while the speakers are connected to the phone as suggested, the amp output devices may be damaged or shut down and take a while to power up again.
  16. You only have to worry about the rear window. Most, if not all dealers are aware of the problem caused by metalic film on the rear window affecting AM reception, and will put non metalic on that window only with metalic film on the sides. The metalic film has much better heat blocking properties so I'd recommend you get it on the side windows.

    Premium Brakes

And as advised by Ford Customer relationship team today, The Premium brakes are Brembo and the Calipers are 4 piston. So there you have it. Is it worth the $3K? Only you can decide.
  18. OK 2 blokes on holidays with their cars arriving while away...wheres the travel agent? I'm goin' somewhere, anywhere, as long as the Turbo is here when I get back.... Somehow I think I need to book a trip on a slow boat to China and back via Brazil to have my wish come true!
  19. Thankfully I'm in a VT ser II acclaim and I intend purchasing it for the wife so any price reduction works in my favour in this case.... But I'd GLADLY pay an extra grand or so for the Comode if I could get the Turbo sooner.
  20. Which dealer?
  21. Yeah, lucky for me I'm in a company car at the moment. I expect to do another 15 - 20 THOUSAND km's by the time my Turbo arrives. imagine the effect on resale if it was my car and had to sell/trade it. :(

    Hello Everybody!

I believe that FPV do the following: Premium brakes Sunroof exhaust pipes, ducts and airflow devices intercooler 18' wheels (I think) the little badge on the back (I'm guessing here  )
  23. Drove one recently and even took pics, as familyman states they have seperate switch on dash and will light up with parkers or above active.
  24. Ford better get on top of the delivery problems soon. Price increase, delays, production probs. GMH just have to discount the VY a little and they'll have many folks running back.
