  1. So the lease on the "T" is drawing to a close and my company policy excludes a sedan so SLOJAM has to go. The wife has a company car on a 4yr lease so I cant even give it to her I can either take the company car - A Magna VR wagon or its 2005 replacement which is rumored to be awd. No matter how many bells and whistles it may have its still a Magna and sub 200kW. The other option is a car allowance but I must have an "approved" car - which means it will have to be either a station wagon, 4WD, or people mover style of vehicle. I have considered the following Crewman SS but at 5.3 mt long and as ugly as hell...No XR6T Ute with canopy - probably get it past the boss but with 2 kids gotta have 3 seats...No (blame SWIMBO) Adventra LX8 - possibility but I hear they are very thirsty..... Territory Ghia AWD, big step down in power and 2100kg not to mention the ride/handeling with the high centre of gravity.....still a possibility though. Subaru Liberty GT. Good performance but a bit squeezy in side and the price...Ouch! Volvo V70R - way out of my price range Audi A4 Wagon - The good one is too expensive Expensive Daewoo Berlina V8 Wagon with leather and sport suspension if possible - the hot favorite so far. What I'd really like is a "T" variant of the Ford wagon with IRS rather than the cart springs that are a hang over from 1903 or a FPV Territory Ghia with either a turbo or V8 motor and modded suspension to lower the ride height considerably and improve the handeling..... They are dreams so lets get back to reality. Over to you guys now to give me your advice/options/thoughts Ken - No changing jobs, loosing the kids or SWIMBO while tempting are NOT valid options.
  2. mmmm....Those were the days..... :o :o
  3. Open your console lid and there are little slots where the coins go so they dont rattle around. I find it pretty handy and clever because you don't hear the things rattling around. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah the little slots are there...but not the right size for many of the Aussie coins. Perhaps a Yankee quarter fits perfectly???
  4. I've had 2 radiators replaced FOC so far
  5. Heres another quirk. As some have probably noticed, if the window "disable" switch is on (to stop the kids from playing for example) and you try to wind a window up from the Drivers control's and your kid presses the rear window switch to down, the window stops. Frustrating as hell when you are trying to close 'em.... Today with 2 kids in the rear, I discovered that with the window disable switch on, if I try to wind either rear window up and BOTH kids press their switch to down, the window opposite to the one I am trying to raise lowers! Is my system faulty or is the logic for the windows dumb?
  6. replaced all of 'em wear is not relevant because they are faulty.....I'd done 50K on mine now have shiney new Dunlop SP3000's all round
  7. Same, so far Matt is looking after me quite well
  8. OK OK I made a mistake.... Dunlops.... WTF was I thinking.... I was so excited to be posting again
  9. I have some rust developing in one of the rear doors of my "T" My friendly dealer has arranged repair and is providing a loan car. Anyone else had rust issues?
  10. Had my car in for it's second radiator replacement (that's another story..) and was told that my tyres were subject to a recall. My car is a Feb 03 build The dealer arranged replacement at no cost.

  13. Just curious what sort of milage other members are getting from their factory fitted 17" tyres.
  14. Wouldnt it be easier to just say get to the Calder and drive, then turn left at the CASTLEMAINE exit (If you hit Harcourt you missed it - dont worry you can turn left there and come back in from the other side) and drive till you see the welcome to Castlemaine population 7000 sign?? I will at this stage be an unconfirmed starter..... I would be comming from Bayswater so happy to meet anywhere thereabouts or between there and the Westgatefwy Shell.
  15. Hey Cro, not much I can say given all the previous posts but I am glad you are OK...in relative terms. That could have been very nasty. Cant wait to see the pics of the new beast what ever it ensd up being. Take care.
  16. Well that probably explains where my BA wiring thread went to......
  17. And he means it.... Had my car in a few day back and after a throttle body clean and a s/w update the car drives like a new one....even noticed the fuel consumption has improved....
  18. Ummm... racist? Not sure what you take "ricer" to mean but I though it meant anyone regardless of race colour etc that "tarted" up their car in a "particular" way..... Feel free to correct me here......
  19. I had a similar problem on my PC recently....I installed the drive into another system and made it a slave drive. It turned out that the boot sector was stuffed as was the OS but the file structure was still intact so I was able to access the data and recover all files on it. Good luck.
