  2. My mums partner has just bought a Mercury Silver XR ute. He wanted the "T" but the SIX month wait put him off so the N/A version should arrive in a few weeks.

  5. I saw a Blueprint BA XR on the eastbound lane of the Eastern Freeway (melb) this morning. He had some poor fella on the side of the road. I looked for the turbo badge but could not see it....but I was driving the other way
  6. just about to hit the 5000k mark and the trip computer is showing 14.8l/100km. Manual calculation works out to be 14.6l/100km. BTW I have just started running PULP all the time so It will be interesting to see the results. One owner I know has experienced 10% better fuel economy on PULP in a Merc and is hoping for same results in the Turbo
  7. how much? what are they like compared to standard?

  10. Here is one of mine at "Final" what ever that realy means
  11. And just to make things interesting, at the 3000k service my wife asked the service team to check out the AM reception since it is CRAP. The service mamanger tells her that the tint is metalic on the rear window and will need replacement........and here I was beileving that dye based tint was installed on the car
  12. you wouldn't be taking the p!ss outa me would you
  13. Just discovered that a fella 3 doors down has an Acid Rush XR6T. Just couldn't help myself...had to knock on his door and introduce myself.....and give him a Forum calling card  The wife thinks I'm sick! The more the merrier I say.
  14. You would be correct here. The Ute does not have T/C fitted Refer to the Ford website specs: Ute Specs
  15. almost 5000km and no problems except that the wife wants to drtive it all the time.....
  16. Theoretically...YES But to be honest I have never heard of anyone actually being done for it
  17. hmmm...don't think this is quite accurate. I believe that the cameras etc have a specified 3kph tolerance so if you are doing 3kph over the specified limit you wont get a ticket, but if, for example you are doing 64kph in a 60kph zone you could theoretically be done for 1kph over. In Mondies case if they booked him at 106kph the actual reading was probably 109kph then the 3kph tolerance was deducted. Having said that, I am with you all the way, these SILLY speed limits and tight tolerances are NOTHING more that a tax by another means. FWIW - while in the US most folks drove at least 10MPH over the limit! I was in a car that actually passed a radar setup at over 10MPH above the limit...no reaction. It would be interesting to compare the road toll per capita between the US and Australia.
  18. I use verbatim CD-R disks without problems...I have not used any CD-RW so cannot comment.
  19. If I read this correctly, you had the pollen filter fitted after delivery??
  20. My Feb03 build has a socket on the LH side but I have not yet located the one on the RH side. I'll re read the posts and have another go...  FWIW - I have Premim sound
  21. At a guess that would have been mine....was it's rego SLOJAM?
  22. True enough for those who are going to flog their car on the race track....but lets face it most of us are just driving around town with the occasional squirt here and there. IMO the suspension is just great for a standard production car and quite respectable for the price. BTW good luck convincing the folks to buy you an XR6T
  23. I'm with optus at home on cable and it is great. I also have optus for local phone and pay TV so there are some savings to be had there. When I was shopping around for cable internet connection, Telstra did not offer any discounts for bundling and were more expensive. Things may have changes since though. Does this mean we will have D/L limits once our current contracts expire?
  24. Still in the US...leaving tonite. Yeah the yanks were very impressed with the look (took pics of my baby to show off.. ) and description/specs. 240kw...huh whats that.... 322HP.....wow that's b**chin for a standard car! Most cars here on the road are smaller than the "BIG" Aussie 2 and front wheel drive. Their excuse is they are more stable on the snow/ice..... I also saw the "New" Pontiac GTO being advertised. GMH have made the Monaro look like crap for the US market. But I'm guessing by the cars on the road the yanks like it that way...
  25. thanks mate, finally someone who agrees with me.....
