  1. at work we use an ultrascan scan tool that costs around 12000 it does all vehicle thou, it uses a CAN system interpreter to commun icate with ALL the BA systems, most cheap ones only extract codes on the dedicated OBD2 data line, using the tool we have and the CAN module we can read all systems codes, data, programming and manual opperation of just about anything. I wonder wether u could do the same with a similar module setup, where u would get one for private use is anopther question!!!! cheers
  2. when I got mine from the dealers they had normal unleaded in it and it pinged, I run 95 premium as my work fuel card is for caltex and in adelaide caltex doesnt have 98 and I get no pinging at all, it has more go and I recon it is more economical as well. I wonder weather changing the cat back exhaust would reduce back presure and cause higher boost, this may be y it is much more noticable with normal unleaded? cheers
  3. the Phillips blue vision park light globes r LEGAL and they produce a white light. all "coloured" parkers r ILLEGAL however. Narva also sell "condoms" that u fit over the globe to change the colour they r about 50cents each and avalible in most colours. cheers
  4. Hi all just a quick question my T has the premium sound with colour screen is it possible to change the background colurs? it is grey by day and black by night. is there a function to change these colours in the software? cheers Mike
  5. Hi all Just updating you I got the XR back yesterday and it is Perfect- Adrian Brian Crash(ford dealer) did a superb job of the repair you would never know it happened. Looks great drivers great I'm Over the moon. I would highly recomend them to anyone in adelaide as a specialised ford repaired. Not the cheapest but by far the best. the poor insurance company had to cough up 15000 bucks AB's used over 200 brand new ford parts. what a job thanks to all that replied. cheers Mike
  6. p.s the pic is prior to the accident obviously and the colour is venom its just a bad pic
  7. He all I think this is only my second post Its a shame its a sad one :( thing is, I have an xr6T and its my pride and joy... anyway last Wednesday I was coming home from work and I pulled out to cross two lanes of traffic to fast and the back end slid out, I over corrected and when I grabbed the road it went head first into a small tree. I hit dead in the middle of the front bar at about 20kms the front is pushed back to the engine, bumper, bonnet, intercooler, rad, rad fans and lower chassis cross member(under radiator) and upper radiator support are all stuffed, anyway it is at the crash shop now and they are in the process of quoting the insurance company, anyway my question is: has anyone had similar damage, and is it repairable or will they right the car off? I love this car and I really want them to repair it and I couldn't bare the thought of getting a differ ant one! also if repaired would you ever be able to tell the difference? cheers Mike :(
  8. Hi Guys the reason that the vehicle wont run is because the ICC is an Electronic Module in the vehicles CAN Network- the CAN net work(communication area network) is a 2 wire system that all the vehicle infomation is sent on(like a phone line) between the modules. The problem is that the wires go from one unit to the other, when one unit is removed this "chain" is broken and the system cannot function. ABS TCC BCM ECU etc are all part of this system, and for instance say the ECU needed immobiliser info from the BCM for start up, it cant recieve it if the chain is brokeen. Its complicated but I tried to explain it as easy as possible. Cheers Mike
  9. The abs module ison the left of the engine bay, it is a bosch system and every time to start the car at some stage it will do a self test. which includes the flowing: A solenoid and valve check and it will also run the pump motor and do a pressure test. this may be the noise, it is quite audible in mine. cheers
  10. Hi all This is my first post I have just purchased a Vixen Red XRT6 LOVE IT much better handeling than my previous patrol LOL anyway in answer to your question mate they are adjustable unscrew the 3 plastic screws on the inner guard and peel it back a little get a light and u will see on the back of the fog light a white plastic rod. turning this turns a adjuster at the top. easy. The best way to aim is to park in the shed 6 ft from the wall turn fogs on. hold a piece of wood or simillar 12" from light and mark the focal point(brightest point) then move the wood to the wall(6ft away) and adjust the light so that the point u marked lines up with the focal point at this distance. I supose if this doesn't work for u them just aim them down a bit till you are happy. Note to all: I am an auto electrician in adelaide So for any special advice feel free to PM Me Love the Forum cheers Mike (hope ive helped)
