I am having some major dramas with my ZF in my FG F6. In short the downshift into second (and sometimes other gears) starts with an almighty clunk / bang. When I say starts with I mean it occurs when changing out of 3rd rather than into second if that makes sense. Ie before the flare and before the revs come back up. This usually happens when rolling under light brakes to a stop such as in traffic or to a set of lights etc. It feels like you have ran into something on the road and scares the bejesus out of passengers. The problems started when the car was tuned in December and somehow the ECU was completely deleted and the shop (Who has been very helpful but as yet unable to solve the issue) had to get someone in to fix it before they could start it or tune it. Originally I was advised not to tune the box but when I picked it up the box had a tune in it. Upon reverting the tune back to standard box tune the box went crazy slipping and clunking and free revving. I now suspect the ZF computer was deleted along with the ECU. So far the box has been rebuilt with upgraded everything but it is actually worse than before. The shop has been helpful and apologetic but we are now nine months down the track and the thing is still not right. The latest diagnosis is that the ZF PCM needs to be replaced which apparently costs some ridiculous amount. Does anyone have any advice on where to go from here? James

I was simply intimating that it is no longer so simple as to say a 'falcon' has no chance of cutting the mustard with an exotic sports car. With the new F6 and SC GS/GT the humble taxi has become a true performance vehicle capable of toppling some big names, at least until you get to a corner! I should have had a better segue! Jimmy

I would sign up tomorrow if I could get edge! (I guess this is the new version of ego? Cannot decide on the other colours! I dont like any of them! Sunburst to me looks like it will date quickly. Nitro is a bit of a tinny colour. Lightning Strike does not match the wheels at all and is simply bland. Viper is a bit loud for my tastes? Winter white I have not seen in the flesh. Maybe this will be ok but a white sports car? It would feel like a fleet vehicle? I don't get if they are making it to order why I cannot order one with the paint I want? Jimmy

Hi All, The BF F6 is about to hit the 100k and is already out of warranty. I drove one a couple of months ago and like the handling improvments so I am going to trade it in and buy a new one. Who in Brisbane is doing deals on them? I am looking for an F6 in Ego with Leather and possibly a sunroof. Other than that standard. Any tips? Cheers James

I am not sure of the brand the receipt does not mention it. The shop tells me they are Gasport or something similar. But not having fit them myself I cannot tell you any more. I have done 2000klms on them now, I would imagine they should be bedded in. I have also really noticed you can feel the slots in the disc with really light pedal pressure which is an odd sensation to say the least. I might phone DBA and ask for their suggestion of a pad to mix with the discs. Jimmy

Hi All, I recently replaced the discs on the front of my F6 with DBA 5000 slotted and new pads. I am very dissapointed with the performance. Significantly down on the standard with limited brake feel and significantly less stopping power. The brake shop reckons the pads are sh*t. The supplier of the discs and pads reckons heaps of people run these pads without any problems and if they are performing badly it is likely they were not bedded in correctly. I have never had an issue with pads before on a string of performance vehicles so I am at a loss as to what the go is. Long story short I will replace the pads with new ones that perform better. It is a daily driver and is not race driven but will have 300+ rwKW soon and I like the thing to stop when I ask it to. What do you recommend? Jimmy

My BF F6 just had the 60k service and the discs and pads are almost done for on the front. I have the standard non premium brakes. The Ford pricing on them even trade is crazy. I have searched and found some old posts on the topic but nothing recent, so the question remains: What are the best options to replace the discs and pads, who sells them and how much are they?
