Classic, I knew there was no way I was the only one in this boat!!! Just a little update. After finally getting called to pick up the F6-310, I called my mate and let him know the good news. He said he was going to be over my way, so could he drop into the dealership as I picked it up. I said no probs, come on over. So I'm getting the grand tour of my new beast, and about half way through my mate turns up, looking more than a little glum. His first comment...'It's only a six!' to which I reply 'How many Kw's you got big fella?' and I get a sheepish '290' :-) I'm thinking this is a prime opportunity to take the piss out of him for real. I'm standing at the front passenger side whilst Grant from Alto is in the drivers seat running me through a few of the features. My mates standing over by the drivers door looking over Grants shoulder. I looked at the inside running board and notice the 'Ford Performance Vehicle' in black and politely ask my mate... "Hey? Is there a silver panel on the running board there that says "Ford Performance Vehicle?" Without skipping a beat he replies "Yeah man, for sure...there's one here alright!" After about five seconds he realised I was taking the piss as obviously his XR8 is NOT an FPV. I can only wish I'd had a camera in my hand as he looked up, funny as f#$$.

O.K - guilty of getting 'stuck behind the wheel!' Picked the F6 up on Friday night from Alto, and have barely left the drivers seat since. Beautiful weather for it too...pouring with rain Friday and all day Saturday, so what better time to get a black car filthy (hence the lack of pictures - must clean crap off, black and shows EVERYTHING). Unleashing 310Kw's after coming out of a stock BA MkII XR6T was something to behold. I've got to tell you my overall impressions are great (and let's face it - I ordered one of these puppies after sitting in the drivers seat of one of the press cars - I didn't actually take it for a test drive - wasn't allowed! ). Quite a smooth & sticky ride (considering the Dunlops), plenty of power (it's like 'squeeeeeeeze the trigger boy...don't pull it!), Ford's upgraded ICC is a lot better than past models, bluetooth with the iPhone and seperate iPod integration (had to make sure something was playing on the iPod before the car recognised it?!?!) are brilliant. Can understand the questions that have been raised here lately about the lack of decent side-bolsters on the F6 seats - you do tend to lean through corners and slide a little on the seat. Got to drive it in the dry on Sunday and today, and it's a smooth and silky thing!!! Anyone that's yet to take delivery - you are in for a treat! All in all - definitely worth the wait, grinning from ear to ear...cheers Ford and FPV - you've produced a winner!!! By the way...the pics are coming...gotta get camera...clean car...stop driving!!!

Well, well, well...it's a miserable day in Sydney, about 14 degrees and pissing down...but I'm smiling! I just got a call from Gavin at Alto...the F6 is on a truck on it's way to the dealership, I'm picking it up at 4PM!!! I can't really believe it...it's been the best part of 4 months and it's finally here. Couldn't have asked for a worse day to get behind the wheel of a 310Kw weapon...think I might have to extend the training wheels for the next couple of days. I'll be sure to post some pics later on tonight.

Hey Smicky Bought it from Gavin, and I've made the last two hairs on his chrome noggin fallout hassling the poor bugger about delivery. Good bunch, and I have to say Gavin did a sensational job on the finance. Answered all my questions, got me a discount off the exisiting Ford finance contract I had to pay out and beat all the major banks on rates.

Called the stock controller at Alto Artarmon today, told my car is on a truck being delivered to the holding yard in Sydney. I may see it by next Wednesday once they have tinted and done all the ancillory crap...guess I can't complain seeing as I ordered it on 1st May!!! Can't wait, going to try not to mod for a good 3 months...if I can help it,

Hi Guys Might be asking a moot question, but keen to know if anyone has taken delivery of their F6 310 yet, and if so do youhave any pics to share? I was advisedby my dealer that my ***weapon*** will be rolling into their showroom by the end of next week (although I am a little dubious).

O.K, two posts in as many hours...when ya break ya cherry you might as well do it properly! This is kind of related to my first post (VW R36 vs F6). Now, we've all got one of these...the mate with the supposed 'better' car. My best mate had been ranting on about the fact his company was supplying him with a new FG XR8 (considering his last vehicle was a Mitsi 360, he was entitled to brag). He knew the R36 was ordered and was keen to rub in the fact that I was traitoring over to VW. I can tell you, I've heard no end of the performance facts, the power, styling and general V8-ness of the XR8 from him. I also forget to tell him that I cancelled the R36 and went with the F6 instead! Although I had mentioned the impending release of the car and was told that "Whatever they'd done to the F6 could be done to the XR8!" He still thinks I'm rolling up to his joint in a new R36, and that the XR8 will make me look like grandma! Might have to post a picture of his face when he sees the new "f$%#ing weapon!" and another of the view from my rear-view mirror as his "grand-daddy V8" gets smoked by Australia's best performing (factory-standard) inline 6.

Colour is Silhouette...was there any other choice? Went with all options except the premium brake package. Changed my mind three weeks ago, but the dealer said it was too late to add the premium brakes as the parts had already been ordered by FPV. Oh well, just need to make sure I've got room to stop!

Hi Guys First post here. Currently driving a BA MKII XR6T with 0 mods (me+mods=bad), and made the decision (what seems like ages ago!!!) to move on up to the new F6. I'll cop a bit of grief for the next statement, but ahhhhh, what the hell! I had originally preordered a new VW Passat R36, liking the Euro styling and interior quality. But something niggled away in the back of my mind, I new the F6 was on its way (this was around April 08) but I had placed my pre order, and had little choice left. I was cruisiing past a Ford delaer around the start of July, who just happened to have the white demo F6 (fresh from testing at Winton) and I let the sales dude convince me to pop on down and take a look. After sitting (read: sitting - not EVEN test driving) in the vehicle, turning it over, having a good squizz at the exterior and noticing that Ford had FINALLY updated the dash, guages, entertainment and sat/nav I was left with a very hard decision. Do I stay with the Blue Blood in the veins, or move away like a RAT BASTARD to european-ness?!?! Well, here I am today, with a cancelled R36 order and a little white piece of paper telling me that I will be the proud owner of a new F6-310 in the next couple of weeks. Wil look forward to cruising with you guys in the near future.
