  1. Motors produced from 06/06 onwards are the same. that's when the part numbers change...
  2. What they said...They are excellent value for money. I have yet to experience brake fade. In fact, warm them up and they work better. You have a couple of options as I see it. Remember that the rear PBR callipers in their kit are the same as the standard callipers but painted red though you get a slotted rotor. Why pay for a new calliper that's the same as yours except red? You can paint it yourself. You can buy the all the gear required for the front standalone. The C6 calliper, braided lines, braided line bracket from Ford and something like DBA 4000 slotted rotors. I got that stuff for under $1300. So for the rears you could: 1. Fit the Territory rears as they have massive rotors (larger than the front PBR's in fact) and the callipers are larger and at a very reasonable price. 2. Get a slotted rotor for the standard calliper and paint it red.
  3. Yep. Maybe 45 minutes. Backfired at about 4000rpm under WOT and bent that rod. Unlucky? Maybe. But it seems it's a bit of pot luck with the way these mass-produced motors are turned out.
  4. Yeah original BA bottom end on stock power until a 10psi generic went in, causing that slight bend in that conrod. But that main bearing wear is most probaby due to poor engine assembly, bad line bore etc. As I said, ALL of the main bearings displayed this wear pattern. This isn't something that happened by running a generic tune for an hour. The engine had a mere 55000 on it...
  5. Took these pics of my motor. Take a look at that main and how its worn - you can see copper!. All of the mains were worn in this manner though this is the worst. No I know why they have to shut Geelong down producing stuff like this. 55000 kms and the thing is close to failure.
  6. Nice yuleh, but it looks like I can still get a feeler guage under that sill...
  7. Kinda reminds me of whales gracefully swiming in the depths of the ocean, speaking to eachother in wonderful low tones. Except replace the whales with the worst looking barge-arse pox cars I've ever seen, the ocean with crap and the low tones with ricer tones.
  8. how cute, pass a tissue please... This is Oscar and he is a 9 years old bitsa. Dont know what breeds but some Pomeranian, perhaps some Corgi? Anyone care to guess?
  9. I think that's correct. I fitted them to my BA head which went on to a brand new but stock Typhoon short motor and there is a noticable difference from about 4000 rpm up. Pulls much harder than before.
  10. A couple of months back it was wet and I came through a roundabout at around 70 kay in 2nd (tippy). On the exit I squeezed the pedal (not too hard I thought) but soon found the arse end coming around to say hello to the front end. I got that tunnel vision thing happening and all I saw was impending late-night stop at an an empty bus stop. I managed to straighten her out but I reckon if it wasn't for the PBR's and slotted DBA's I might have been saying hello to some expensive damage. Glad you are all ok dude.
  11. RIP SCRIBR's brain cells.
  12. Yeah I have 105mm ground clearance and it there are driveways at the local shops I can no longer use. The front went down 25mm and the rear went down 40mm. I think you would be safe dropping the front by 15mm. and the rear as needed...
  13. I did Luke but these are the Envy MKIII where yours are MKII. They are very similar but mine have more of the "fake" studs and a machined lip instead of a chrome lip but the center is the same. They ended up being within my price range and as a bonus, they look good on the car The suspension is a Tein Supersport "performance" coilover setup so the springs come with the dampers. They are height and dampening (rebound too) adjustable. The dampening adjustment can be made from inside the car if you spend an extra $800 (fitted) for the EDFC (electronic controller). I will definately be doing this as it allows you to go from stiff to soft and anywhere in between by pressing a button or two. I also got Whiteline sway bars and a camber caster kit. I just did a highway drive in it and the setup is great. For how flat it all keeps the car and how well it puts the car where you want it with the right attitude, it still has a VERY good ride. Firm but smooth. You have to lower your car dude- it's a must with nice wheels!
  14. Thanks boys. I like them heaps. They do have a decent dish for a 8.5. But they just, and I mean just, clear the front brake calipers by about 1mm. I might also have some rubbage if I go around a corner quick or get too many fatties in the boot I mean back seat. With 105mm ground clearance, I wouldn't want it any lower. It's already a bugger on mildly steep driveways, speed humps etc. Rock on
  15. Got the gear on now and I have to say I love it. The suspension - too firm? NOT! And that's with a 14 front and 10 rear setting. The Teins are awesome fellas. And so are the guys at <freeplug>Centerline Suspension in Lipton Drive Thomastown (ask for Chris)</freeplug>. Seriously, those guys know what they're talking about and the kit and setup is everything they described it as. Though firmer, the car is actually smoother even with the 19's having a much lower profile. And the wheels suite the car to death as well I reckon. Awesome and so was the service and advice from <freeplug>Tyepower in Reservoir (ask for Ray)</freeplug>. A family business with family values. Thanks boys. Here are some pics.
  16. Nice description thanks. I haven't got the EDFC yet but am looking around for one. Do you know which variant you're running? The standard and the performance? I'm getting the performance which is 15% stiffer apparently. The guys at Centerline think the standard are too soft on the soft setting and not stiff enough on the stiffest setting so they recommended the performance version. I heard you had Koni coilovers on your old blue car? True? How do they compare? So do you know which model you got? The standard or performance? The latter is 15% stiffer.
  17. But be prepared! Running the 10psi generic will put all sorts of new strain on downstream components. Clutch, CV's, diff, axles, bushes etc will all feel the wrath of 600Nm of metal twisting torque. If I was you I would start with a stronger clucth yuleh. Me mate just got a fully organic twin plate felafal clutch and I can thouroughly recommend one of these units to anyone. It was really good until we got hungry and had to eat it. Call Habibi at Madleb Motors and Clutch Emporium. Tabouli & Humus CSC extra.
  18. Ok boys, just dropped it off at centerline suspension in Thomastown. Should be ready this arvo by about 3. Will post pics as they come to hand. Can't wait!
  19. Get some coilovers!
  20. If you have that much belief in your product then well done Kev. Personally, I think this is a good thing and should be taken in the spirit it's given. IE, Kev thinks (or knows) he has a product that is better than a competitors, and is willing to back it up. So Kev, will you also provide the "Plaz stuff" for free along with my order?
  21. OMG! Did the humus core come out yuleh? Sik. I'm getting 8. I'l drill a couple of extra holes in the head just to fit the extra ones yuleh.
  22. It also happened to me and to many others - look around. If you run generics without regapping and without sticking it on a dyno, you're taking a stupid risk. Spending a few bucks can potentially save you thousands. When I blew mine, I didn't hear any pinging either. I had the 10 psi in for no more than 45 minutes before it backfired under full throttle and bent 2 rods. If you do break it, expect to spend somewhere around 4k to get it back to stock. Dont forget if you do blow it and have to get a new motor, specify the Tzatziki injected variant as this is superior to the lesser Tabouli injection. The science lies in that Tzatziki lubricates the cylinders about 90% better than Tabouli, causing less friction.
  23. Yeah setup is what can make a product seem good or bad. With the 16 posy dampening adjustments, I'm fairly confident I can find a happy medium setting for everyday driving. 2 days to go!
  24. What do you mean by "terrible" in corners? Too stiff? Too soft? I know the "old" Teins were very stiff, too stiff for Aussie conditions. These Teins have been redesigned specifically for Australia and are supposed to be quite a bit softer now thanks to re-valving. The guys at Centerline Suspension love them! They say that eventhough Bilsteins are an excellent unit, they don't compare to the new Teins. I guess I'll know soon enough.
