Internal Fan Stays On Full With Ignition Off
400KwXr6t replied to NEV2XS's topic in Electrics Workshop
Yeah there is a step by step on here how to do it. On my phone so finding the link a bit hard. But I know it is good and detailed. And involves a few steps of " have a beer" so it's my kind of tutorial. -
Internal Fan Stays On Full With Ignition Off

Yeah mine has like a rattle. Sounds like a coin somewhere. It's road speed dependent. Had most of it apart but can't find anything. May be a flap come loose or something. The fan goes flat out randomly then all works ok. It's weired and annoying its intermittent. Just when I get motivation to change the him it comes good and I don't touch it. It seems like it does it if I put the fan to full, like the variable resistor sticks or shorts to earth. Think I'll give the fan changeout a go. Seems easier than the him. Oh and the filter you seem to forget about gets pretty gross. Recommend people have a look at it. -

Yeah for some reason the fan and him has power all the time. So guess the him gets a bad earth In it that is random. The only way I can stop mine is pull the 40A fuse or the fan connection under the glovebox. Bought a him off eBay for $150 so I can have a play with the old one and have a backup if I stuff it up. Anyone opened a him module before? -

I have same problem. I disconnect the fan under the glove box which is easier than the fuse in the bonnet. Got a him module off eBay for 150 but haven't fitted it yet so don't know I this will fix it. Interested I someone comes up with a fix. I'm the same bout 2 years on a 2002 ba and does it randomly. -

Tyre pressure gauge maybe. With reg turned right down. An old inner tube inflated to a set psi could do it to with the gauge in line. -

Cheers. Link didn't work but will look it up when I'm home. I saw an aftermarket one in street machine that looked ok and wondered if anyone knew the price. The website I looked at didn't list it. And too lazy to ring them.

Driving Interstate - Fuel Requirements
400KwXr6t replied to dave8888's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Nullabor road house was the only place that I had to detune to 95 for. Had a couple of Jerry's too for piece of mind. Every where else I got 98. That was 3 years ago though. -
If they want it bad enough a tilt tray will rock up and just pull it up and off they go. Maybe some if the south African anti car jacking things. Like flame throwers that shoot up the doors.

Could be shocks. The rubber bush flogs out. If it does it over bumps this could be it.
