  3. turns out melted rear turbine bearing cage, no damage to anything else, excessive heat. cost $610 to fix, new bearing pack, expensive lesson although all fixed up now.
  4. but they do sound very cool...lol
  5. scored metal meaning the bearing surfaces? not the housings/wheels? any ruff ideas on price... thanks for the help
  6. point taken, expensive lesson, pretty much new chra? 1100-1400 ish arnt they? I was under the opinion that the centers couldnt be repair/rebuild like bush bearings?
  7. very nice, look sh*t hot, wonder how thick they are.
  8. couldnt see there being any huge gains, not like its mounted on top of the enigne like a wrx is
  9. good chance it would be cheaper too sell your current car and just buy a manual.
  10. I understand they are there for a reason too keep the center cool but the water doesnt provide lubrication for any moving parts, and past turbos iv owned didnt have any water lines.
  11. yes the oil lines were, im not an idiot kinda just caught up in the whole madden test voyage thing
  12. just been running around with my gt35 fitted up, dummied it up, withno water lines(yet to be made) got kinda carried away and drove around for good hour or so. came home and have noticed that the turbo is very noisy when the car is turned off, also the it wont spin over and nicely as it used to feels alot rougher. still sh*t all shaft play and no in-out shaft play, just wondering what damage iv done hopefully I have just shat a brand new turbo! still boosting up fine and making great power no contact or damage to compressor wheel or anything, hopeing I havent melted my bearing packs or something due to lack of water cooling?
  13. yeah just the stock standard xr6 turbo spec compressor housing, im looking to down size from my .70, to hopefully increase spool up and make it easier to plumb up and air box, 3" vs 4"
  14. just wondering where id be able to find a .50 compressor housing do ford sell them seperate or would garrett be able to supply me with one? whats the cost on one of these any ideas thanks
  15. dont want to sell your .50 cover do you?
  16. nah mines got a .70 front brought it off here about 2 years ago for my vn v6, thought maybe that a smaller front cover maybe of some use to me considering iv got less displacement to start with and doesnt really see full boost to about 3200-3500rpm.
  17. interesting thread, so your able to simply switch from .50 to .70 with no mods to the turbo? apart from the intake and perhaps the mount of the actuator? whats a .50 compressor cover worth...?
  18. AUTObahn even sell these now personally they looks terrible, and for the cost hardly seems worth it.
  19. very impressive very very
  20. as what others have said if the oil cant get away your in trouble as it can burn and cause damage to the bearings etc, also you really want the oil to get back as fast as u can due to lots of oil being pumped there at high rpm situations
  21. agree is bleed valve
  22. I honestly wouldnt trust any boost gauge as far as I could throw it. use a dyno if you want to know how much boost/vacume you have
  23. why not use a bleed valve? that goes in the t piece of the accuator line? or is this a no go for xr6 turbos? im pretty sure you can also mod the accuator arm so it holds longer and produces more boost
  24. I dont see the attraction to x police cars? they dont get a nice running in like "normal cars" I think ud be better off buying an x goverment car insteed
