  1. Hey guys. Just needed to vent some anger so I figured I may as well post up and see how all you guys went with simular problems/resolutions. My XR6T has 7500Kms on it, and so far I have experianced: * Rough Idle (ford claims they have re-calibrated the computer at 3k service) * Exhaust sounds like its missing on idle * Crunching in 5th gear at high revs * Diff clunking when changing gears * Clicking sound from my steering when turning the wheel * Vibration when driving at 80Km + Its funny how such an advanced car (compared to my 95 model XR8) has so many more problems then what my XR8 had at 156000 Kms. I think this is the LAST ford I ever buy, and frankly, I should have stuck to my initial idea of buying a Skyline GTR. PS, doesnt help that last night I foolishly raced a GT-P and got CHOPPED Anyhow, catch ya all later, sorry to b**ch to you all
  2. Scotty and Vik, comment noted HAHAHAH but the chopsticks are good for one reason. Every time I give a WRX driver a bit of a CHHHH, they run me........poor bastards, they always loose (have we got a post on cars that have fallen to the ALLMIGHTY T) ?? Nah, its not all that loud, ill get over it, initially I wanted a turbo for the sound, ive been a V8 man till now. I think its just a stage till I get it out of the system Vik, mine is manual, so I dont need the tran cooler. As for the oil cooler, where would that go, what does that do, how much does it cost, where can I get it done, and does anybody have any pics of how it looks ??? (sorry about the 21 questions) Thanks for all your help guys, I feel much better now knowing that this is normal behaviour for a turbo
  3. Hi guys hows it going? Im not sure if this has been posted before, so sorry if it has, but its my first turbo car that I have owned and im concered about the turbo getting hot. Has anybody experianced their turbo going red hot after giving the car a few good/hard high speed hits? Is this normal, bad, something to be worried about, something to ignore? Any info you guys can give me would be much appreciated. Whilst im at it, for all you guys with BOV out there, do you think the BOV would make a difference with heat on the turbo (if its full vented) and have you noticed any loss in drivability (smoothness of powerband, speed, pulling power etc) Thanks for your help guys Dean
  4. I test drove both the 8 and the T when I went in for my test Comming from an EF XR8 I was looking forward to driving the XR8 thinking that id walk away with one. Instead I drove the T and thought to myself "Im buying one" I was really impressed with the fact it lost traction in 3rd gear when I put my foot down in the wet (my XR8 never did that). What a car.......smooth, powerfull, full of features, comfortable......id recomment it to anybody
  5. XR8 gearbox in the 6 would be great, but what would be the implications on the Diff and Tailshaft ?? Would these need to be replaced also ?

    Wanted For Wedding

Dude, why phantom..........why not blue print, you can find sh*t loads of blue print ones !!!
  7. XRCISM - I wanted those........oh well, my mate gave me a different idea so I ended up not persuing it. I was actually thinking about talking to the RTA to see if they can contact the owner and tell them that they have somebody interested in buying them, but I dont think the RTA can do that cause of privacy. SIXFAN - Other then Manual and Phantom, ive got premium sound, leather, side air bags, scuff plates, floor mates, sports wheel and tinted windows - then my own add ins include paint protection, plates, filter and most recent, and nice ricey BOV (which is fully adjustable to plum back, so I can get rid of the noise whenever I like )
  8. HAHAHA Plonky im a member there because my friends dragged me into it, otherwise, im a ford man.......my first car was a ED Station wagon, then a EF Fairmont, next was my fav (of the past cars) EF XR8, and last but not least, the XR6 Turbo........lol does that qualify as skippy enough for you guys XRCISM, do you by any chance have those number plates, I was looking for them when I got my car but they are taken :(
  9. HAHAHAHAAHA Yeah, you guys are too nice. Im also a member of the Skylinesnsw forums and we give the newbies alot of sh*t sometimes! HAHAHAHHAHA are you sure you dont know me from somewhere else, how did you know about my leather thong...........I even have matching leather in my XR just for kicks
  10. Im personally using BP Ultimate. My XR8 used to like Optimax, but I heard they changed the fuel a bit and its not as good as when it came out.
