  1. Dean, What did you do with the gearbox ie strength? What happened to the old one? Mick. ← Hi Mick, My old one lost 3rd gear (as the T5 does with too much power). I have had the gears replaced with hardened straight cut gears. Regz Dean
  2. Brian/Craig, thanks again for your replies. Craig, I am looking forward to going out again, I think with some trial/error I will run the 12 second pass. First thing first, I need to get the 60ft down and I need to get some better tyres then the NS/2's that I am running now (nankang). Brian, no I am only running unichip at this stage, have not moved to edit yet. You right, being able to move rev limits etc will help with a better time......not sure if I want to throw more money into the car to go to edit....something I need to consider. Out of curiosity, have you run your car since and what times did you get. I think you would be a better person for me to compare with rather then craig considering your driving a manual. Regz Dean
  3. Thank you for your reply Geea.....I dont think I did that bad, if I recal correctly Brian also ran about a 13.1 with more power......So I guess im doing something right. I was told by a number of the guys at the track last wednesday that there is no way I can run a 12 second pass with a T5 box.....I tend to disagree with that one and feel that if I can get traction, I will get the time. I will go out again shortly to give it another go and will post up my results when this happens. PS, JEFF !!!!! Last time I trust a GT driver who tells me....."29 PSI is a good seting for your tyres" !!!!! pooooffffttttttaaaaaa farken !!!!!! Regz Dean
  4. Just a question for you Geea.......Just thinking about your remark about 120mph out of 300rwkw and what Steve was saying about experience. Obviously a statement like this (experience) would apply to somebody like me more then the majority here, seeing as though my T is a manual, and with a 2.3 60ft I think its fair to say that I need a lot more practice before I run a good time. Anyhow, in your opinion, what would you say a manual with 300rwkw should run regarding mph.......I only managed 112mph, 2.3 60ft and et of 13.1 ........ also, that was on street tyres in street trim (ie, nothing taken out, spare tyre and sub box still in boot etc)......oh, before I forget, its a T5, not the T56. Any info you could post would be much appreciated. Also, if any of you manual guys can post about how you launch your cars, especially if your 60ft is better then mine, that would also be much appreciate. Regs, Dean
  5. This is interesting, cause Spiro managed 270 from mine before I needed the system changed. Good to know that its capable of more, thanks for that info mate. ← the 3" xforce with cat replacement has seen 400rwkw and better everyday driveability the 3.5 when available with the twin dump and metal cat not the current normal cat made to look like a metal cat will be awsome!!!! ← DW.....even though Xforce may make the split pipe used in my car, we have scrapped the split pipe for the 4" pipe that's currently on the car. Spiro has confirmed it has had a positive effect on the car when it was last tuned and there was a power gain. Regz Dean ← well there you go maybe he knows better then! but why did he have to change the 3" exhaust at 270 rwkw? is the 3" xforce exhaust no good then? news to me! your contridicting your self with your posts!!!! the xforce exhaust is why I stopped making my exhausts as they are the best value for money on the market! like the cooler I'm all about value for money!!! must be the tight wog in me!!! you will never see me recomend a 4" dump from 2.5" turbine wheel 3.5" is overkill!!! granted it may flow more but for eg why have 1000cfm capacity when your engine is only capable of 500cfm per say!!!! think about it!!!! ← Spiro only confirmed the results on the Dyno, as I mentioned in previous posts its actually Bestmufflers who designed the systems that Xforce then started production of. Im not a mechanic, nor a tuner......Im just telling you things that I have heard whilst my car was being tested on. Why the car produced no more then 270kw, I dont know....that be Spiro's department. Why the 4" pipe was recommended, that was Chris from Bestmufflers.......who designed the system's recommendation. If you recall a while back, I posted a number of dyno sheets with results of various setups.....these where not dyno'd at Autotech it was done else where. Autotech took over when I started modding the car (as you recall, the whole purpose of my initial testing with the 3" system was to see how much power we could get out of a std T before modding it). Anyhow.....I cannot give you a technical answer, as my speciality is computers, not cars..... for a technical summary you would have to call Spiro or Chris.

  7. Hi XR6ISM, Did it cost you much to upgrade your T5?? ← To be honest with you, I still havent paid for it so I dont know how much it will cost me. Once I have the pricing finalised etc I will post up some details on what I have done to the box, and what other options are available.

  9. Good night, it was great to go out and do some runs.......even though Jeff ........mate slap in the head ......... set my tyre pressure to 29PSI.....I was wondering why I had no traction !!! Anyhow, I didnt hit my goal, which was a 12 second pass but I did get a new PB of 13.1. During the night my best 60ft was 2.3 (that needs to come down) and 111.9mph. First time out with the new gear box also, so a bit of practise with shifting is needed. The 2nd to 3rd shift is fairly slow.
  10. I guess it depends on who's dyno and how it was tuned. With the 3" test system on Spiro's dyno the car made 270rwkw before Spiro said I need a bigger exhaust system. At this stage Chris (from Best mufflers) made up the 3.5" system which when put on the dyno jumped straight to 290. With some extra tuning we left it on 303rwkw. You can find out info on: http://www.bestmufflers.com/Information/Cu...yno_Results.htm Regz Dean
  11. Thanks, XR6ISM If that's the case it's a fantastic buy!!! Chooka ← It is and you will get a power increase also. When these systems were tested on my car by Bestmufflers (who then send them on to Xforce to start production of the kits), my car gained 14rwkw when standard with the 3" system. The only draw back is that this system will not run more then 270rwkw. The 3.5" system has no problems with holding 300+ rwkw.

I used to use Semi Synthetic but have changed to Mobile 1 full synthetic.
  13. Hi Chooka, Yes, the system does come with the Cat. Jordak, all I know about the cats is that they are Hi flow metalic substraight, one a 3" the other a 3.5". I do not have specs on flow rates etc.
  14. that's whats on my car, you wont regret it, awsome exhaust system
  15. Just be carefull when changing the cat, my car had issues when I tested various exhaust system with the computer sh*tting itself and dropping power/cutting out ..... If the system is to free flowing you will find your boost will spike (as mine did)
  16. I had the Xtreme organic in my car, cost me about 1100 or so. Held the power well, however it didnt like more power. I am not running a ceramic that is holding just over 320 without any issues. PS, if you go a ceramic on a std box, expect your box to have issues as mine did. Now im running a Stregthened T5 with hardened gears.
  17. Sounds good, depends if I get my car back, its off the road at the moment. Ill let you guys know asap
  18. Funny coming from someone still running a uni-jip ← dont you get tired of the same old !!! Bloody GT drivers, buy a real performance caar ← Here we go again, My Turbos better than a GT Bla bla bla, Ive had both and would have a GT anyday or maybe an F6 one day. The XR6 Turbo is not the only so called perfomance car around, take your eye patch off maybe ← F6 or XR6.....isnt it really the same thing - only kitted up ?? LOL bloody GT drivers Relax mate, im just taking the piss out of Jeff !! Brian, you are right, it is illegal to leave the car unlocked or running when you leave the car. Mine is set to 30seconds so by the time I get my things, lock up and start walking away, it turns off.....its never really left alone to ide for minutes after minutes.

  20. I have one running in my car, however as the guys have mentioned it is not required. The only reason I have one in mine is: a) It was given to me as a bday present b) I dont like turning my car off whilst the turbo is glowing (ie, after a squirt). Rather then sitting in my car waiting, I can lock it up and leave it on TT. Regs Dean
  21. AKA Helmholtz resonator - see here for a general explanation, and here for an in-depth acoustic engineering type answer ← LOL Dude, I was being sarcastic cause I've got a straight through system on mine.....actually I lie, only one muffler http://www.bestmufflers.com.au/Information...yno_Results.htm Thanks for the link though, twas an interesting read
  22. Hot dog ??? Whats that ??? I just got rid of mine all together, only 1 muffler through the whole system.....but then again, people tell me im tone deaf....I like'm loud
  23. Hi Mal, The box is around 6900 plus clutch plus fitting if im not mistaken ???
  24. Phase 3 should get you around 330rwkw, Im running 320rwkw on a phase 2 with a phase 3 cooler. My cars clicked over 53k km's and the engine is still fine. PS, you can go more with phase 3 (power wise) however you probably wouldnt want to go further on a standard engine. My opinion anyway.
  25. Thanks for the info Brian, Ill have to go through it all again. Does anybody know if there is a difference in times at the creek between the 5 and 6 speed. From my understand, what you guys say is that the gearing would be relatively unchanged. So is it correct to assume the time should be the same also? Further, is it correct to assume that 5th and 6th are overdrive gears? Not to sure when it comes to gear boxes hence why I ask the questions.
