You can also try Bestmufflers in Carlton (bestmufflers.com) Chris developed the 3.5 and 4" Xforce systems on my car, so he knows what he is talking about when it comes to the fords.
-
If your not doing so already, wack a pod filter on it and you should get better induction sound.

Here is a section of my reply to this question in the exhaust thread. "Personally, I love the sound out of my car (the fact that its loud).....with a quad system (only 1 muffler), straight cut gears, blow off valve, noisy fuel pump etc, I think its in the top 10 of XR's in terms of noise LOL ... however, with this being said, the screamer was just wrong .... the sound that it made...... no words..... loud doesnt cover it .... nor does LOUD!!!!. This thing was deafining with a horrible note. It lasted a couple days on my car for testing then came off (my point here is that I like noisy cars, but not with the screamer)" As Master G mentioned, good way to get defected, the noise is wrong. From experience, trust me, you dont want this thing on your car.
-
Did you say joins back in ??? Technically speaking....or should I say in ricer terms, a screamer pipe does not join back into the system, hence the term screamer. When you hit boost the car literally screams. Very illegal and if not done correctly (ie, if you dont seal between the 2 sections correctly, seeing as though we have internal wastegates) it will sound crap. This is one of the problems we had, getting a good seal was difficult, which means on idle, you could pick up a touch of an exhaust leak sound. (PS, not refering to a split dump pipe that flow back into the system). Black Thunder, ill send you some pics as requested of the pod setup, I just have to take some for you mate.

Good point, never thought of it that way.....re::backspin. Just a theory I heard a while back when my mates turbo blades went into self destruction. The mechanic at the time blamed it on no release valve and "apparant" back spin.
-
mmmm and look at your turbo blades a couple months later .... you will get back spin, not the best way to get sound. Mate did this, his turbo was gone ... if you run small boost not too muchan issue, but if your running higher boost I wouldnt be doint this About the initial question, the GFB Stealth FX is a direct replacement also ... fits in the factory position and is adjustable.

The screamer pipe itself sounded like crap? ← Yeah it sounded like crap ......everybody that heard it agreed with me ..... to be honest, it got to the point where I was embarrased to give it a squirt cause it sounded that bad .... needless to say, it didnt last long on my car.
-
I had one on my car during the exhaust testing phase, it is VERY loud.....for me to say that its gotta be loud as mine by is made up of loud bits lol .... but all agree'd that it sounded like crap on the car.

What clutch is yours running..... my box gave up at around 320kw, but only after I put the ceramic clutch in the car. ← what happened to your box mate?? I got 304rwkw, and mine seems fine so far.. been running that power since around april or so... mind you, I don't drive it hard. still saving though ← It said bye bye . I did approx 30,000km with the T5 at 300+ rwkw, using a standard clutch, then an extreme organic. The organic died after the 5000km when the car was retuned to just over 320rwkw, and that's when I put the extreme ceramic clutch in .... within weeks I was driving home from work and bang..... there goes 3rd ! ← bugger any symptoms prior to it going bang?? I've done about 10000km on my T5, with upgraded clutch. Did you drive it hard?? I rarely belt it these days, only on the odd occasion. ← No symptoms, it just went. As for driving it hard, not really ... gave it squirts here and there but not thrashing it

Which achievement you talking about? Most $$$ spent on a T. Lol, he doesn't even have that. ← Your right, he doesnt have that, that went to somebody else here. And I believe that car is yet to hit an 11 second pass. If I am mistaken then I withdraw my comment, If I am correct then I suggest we change topics, as there are more powerful cars out there that havent run the times either. End of the day, as long as we all enjoy our cars, who cares! This topic has turned into a bunch of keyboard warriors typing up

Jeff.... what did I tell you when you offered to "Show me what the edit can do"??? I told you the car hasnt been tuned....which is still the case. As for running me on Wednesday, whats the point ? I can tell you now that with the bottle connected you will beat me. Without the bottle....mmmm could be interesting, that would depend on how fast I can shift gears. Either way, for me to run my car id need to get it tuned, buy a set of rims and a set of semi slicks.....to be honest with you, I have financial commitments elsewhere at this point in time, so I cant do it. As for Geoff, Im not 100% but I think he might be teaching a seminar so im not sure if he will be able to make it on a wednesday.....I know he has grading's coming up the school, he will have to confirm that one.

so like did you use that POV to subtly brag about your time? ← No, I think he is trying to say that everybody is tired of listening to Jeff talk MG took his car out to have a bit of fun and test the current setup ...... the day was fairly warm, he didnt have much traction and there was an issue with shift points that will be sorted out shortly. Maybe he needs to go out a few more times to get the hang of it, maybe he put too much heat in the tyres, maybe not enough ..... end of the day its all experiance. Im sure the guys here who ran a good time needed a bit of practice to get there and those who say they didnt are full of . Jeff .... why dont you run MG on STREET LEGAL tune then we'll see who's car has the balls and whos car should be hiding in the corner with its tail between its legs !!! Maybe Im wrong, maybe yours is quicker then his, but end of the day, NOS is like using steroids .... you might as well cheat / take the easy way out. What you fail to understand is MG can run his car as is on the track and on the street. So can you .... however if you get pulled over with the bottle connected your going to get pumped up the

Ive blown my drive shaft once with standard T5 and now once with my modded TF (straight cut gears). Its no so much the box in my case, both times it happened as I spun through a bump. As soon as the ass end came down, bang ..... but other then that, box has been in the car now for a good 10k km's, no problems what so ever.
-
Awsome dump pipe that one, good thing your happy with it, took a long time to get it developed and right. Have had that on my car for about 6 or 7 months now with no problems what so ever.
-
ebs_4l ..... I have had my T5 rebuild with stronger gear set......Straight cut gears. It was done through Spiro at Autotech ...... have to say, car has never felt stronger, my only problem now is drive shafts LOL I have to say, I cant complain about the T5. Mine lasted about 40k km's at over 300rwkw.
-
I havent heard one like mine yet, but like I said, when your ready let me know and you can decide for yourself LOL MG, you love it.....dont you wish your car was an orchestra of sound like mine

Hey Ozzy how you doing mate? The exhaust system on my car is as mentioned on Chris's (Bestmufflers) website...that is, 4" dump pipe, 4" metal substraight cat, single 3.5" with a single high flow muffler in the middle, over the diff then it breaks into dual 2.5", then further into the quad pipes. At the moment you can get the quad system, however the 4" pipe is still not available through Xforce. Bestmufflers can supply you the quad system however the dump pipe would be a split dump pipe (from memory, 3" dump with 1.7" wastegate pipe). I found this pipe to be fairly good however to be honest it is more restrictive then the 4" pipe. Alternatively, you can supply your own 4" pipe and Bestmufflers will fit up the rest of the quad system for you. To give you an idea on pricing, (please note, price will differ if you supply your own dump pipe as this price includes the dump pipe) you would be looking at $2000 for a Stainless system with a high flow cat. Add $300 if your after the metal substraight cat. Anyhow mate, if you want to hear what the car sounds like, send me a PM and we can organise to meet up one day/night......Im located around the Liverpool area. Regards, Dean
-
The split dump pipe design is good, however you will more then likely find that a 3.5" dump (single) will do the job better. I actually went from a 3" split pipe (with a 1.7" wastegate pipe) to a 4" pipe and gained 20rwkw off the bat. Furthermore, in my opinion the design of that dump pipe will not be that effective. To have effective gas flow, you would want to gradually introduce the gasses back into the system.....ie, the split pipe should come in at an angle rather then on the side. My 2cents worth
-
937, if your after tips on either side, perhaps compare prices with the Xforce systems. The herrods systsms are good, however I guess it all depends on how deep your pocket it.
-
SSHHHH Don't say it too loudly, or Jeff might pipe up again. *Has anyone got a box that will fit him in it?* ← mmmmm wog car park tunes......I think I have to get me one LOL Where is Jeff, havent seen him fire up in a while. Welcome to the forums guys.
-
You are probably looking at around 14rwkw gain if you go a 3" system .... not sure what configuration the Redbak system is. If you do a search on my posts, you will find a few long posts I've put up with dyno figures on a stock car then various exhaust mods. Regz Dean

LOL whiny is an understatement......the thing is LOUD !!!!! It doesnt bother me though to be honest, the only issue I have is a rattle through my gear stick which will be fixed this weekend when I replace the gear stick with a shortened one. Um, as for the 14th ...... I dont know, ill have to see how I go with work....depends if I can duck out early.
