  1. It just goes to show that it is all about marketing. The "I can see all my Facebook friends on one tank" add has got them queuing up to buy the diesel. It had me thinking about it too. But after doing the sums, after 10 years of ownership of the diesel, I would have been $2200 worse off than keeping my current 2006 model Terra Turbo. I thought hmmm I might go see all my Facebook friends in my Terra Turbo. I would also have lost 100 KW of power in the process. They would have been way better off putting the Liquid injection 195 KW LPG engine in the new Territory. Then they could have advertised "I can see all of my Facebook friends for $50" Instead of the current $109 it costs to fill the current diesel territory. Yes that is correct. Current diesel price is $1.46 x 75 L = $109.50. Ford amaze me with their marketing decisions.
  2. I find that with my Terra Turbo the throttle spends most of its time at a position that would probably have it running on LPG. I don't think that even for normal overtaking that it would flick over to Petrol. The TT has a lot of grunt even at low throttle levels. I have heard that Petrol would only kick in when you are giving it a shot of boy racer. The TT now costs me around $120 in premium unleaded to travel around 400 Ks local driving compared to my AU falcon Wagons $40 for 400 ks under the same conditions. I would imagine that my TT would cost around $50 for 400 ks on LPG if I decide to convert it to LPG. The hardest decision is still the do I convert and loose my spare wheel dilemma. Still have not come up with a satisfactory solution to this problem with my 7 seater.
  3. Thanks for your reply MJK. I have the same trouble with my second car, an AU falcon Wagon (read shopping trolley). It is fitted with LPG plus a dickie seat, so I loose the spare. I have been travelling with no spare for 18 months until 1 night (Murphy was working night shift) I copped a blowout on near brand new tyres. I was 5 Klms from home and the tyre had a 25mm gash in it and a right off. I drove it home at about 20 KPH. Thankfully the alloy rim was fine and tyre had to be replaced anyway. I have seen one person with a Terra sporting a bracket on the back ala Nissan Patrol style with the spare hanging off it, but it looked so fugly that you would chew your arm off if you woke up hugging it. I am not real keen on putting roof racks on it either, it spoils the look of the Terra Turbo (IMHO). So no real solution with the 7 seater by the looks. The other thing that I wanted to ask is that I have heard that the LPG Terra and XR6 Turbos are set up to flick over to Petrol when you plant the foot. Is this correct?
  4. I have a Territory Turbo (Non Ghia) It is a 7 seater. Can I fit this kit to mine without loosing the spare or fixing the spare in an ugly location?
