  4. Still trying to work out plates for my truck, maybe TTD 200 , . There a nice truck mate, though shouldn't be 125k for a Sahara TTD , 98-102K on road . Do what I do and get on the My Plates section on the RTA website and play around with the plate configurator. It will also tell you if that plate is available . (Not sure what state you are in but this facility is available in NSW ) Good luck

  8. Sorry about slow update on outcome. Due to having so much evidence (photos showing multiple obstructions, distances and lack of line of site fom supposed observation point, together with Lidar manual procedures not followed in a number of instances),managed to not only have fine dropped but retain points. Having a good record for the last 10 years probably helped. By memory I think the magistrate called the infringement defective or invalid and eventually it was withdrawn. I had all of my points prior to this incident and the fine was not going to break the bank and in reality it cost more taking time out from my business than paying the fine. Would I do the same again,? If I knew I was in the right.Definitely. Driving a landcruiser now so probably not attracting the police as much now anyway.
  9. Another convert to diesel power, looks to be a bit better than jeeps of past. I thought I might be a bit disappointed with the power of my first new diesel after driving turbo sixes. I was wrong, standard 650nm + chip = 800nm so far and soon to be new exhaust for a bit more. Looks to have a lot of good stuff built in at a low price compared to other vehicles in the same class.Hope to read your review of the new rig after you have it for a while. Read some of the reviews of the new diesel motor and they seem to get a pretty good rap.
  10. Yeah Ben, Tig welding for 35 yrs and started my business 1985 Vessel manufacture/repairs, pipelines, chiller plant pipework and of course stainless mate, usually all purged s/s tube and pipe. Eyes are starting to go + my back, knees and other body parts lately though and trying to go into semi-retirement mode just doing quotes and working the odd shutdown. Unfortunately too much work and not enough decent manpower at the moment. Cheers
  11. Hi Ben, Im not on the forum much and have just seen your thread. Like your work mate and I dont think that frame will break in a hurry, also great attention to detail. Good luck with the build .
  12. If I remember correctly, Lachlan Murdoch was ignored and salesman wouldnt open the door at a Ferrari showroom as he was dressed in old jeans and t-shirt. Just goes to show cant judge by appearance.
  13. Bought my first oil burner at xmas and luvin it. Twin turbo v8 now chipped and sitting at just over 800nm. Surprisingly quick for a near 3 ton vehicle.

  20. I am having problem signing in to the site. I have the 'remember me' box ticked and when I type the first letter of my user name the rest of the name and password would usually appear. What is happening now nine times out of ten when I type the first letter of my user name my old user name(tigwelder) appears (went from tigwelder to tig) Do you need to do some sort of forum exorcism to remove the traces of my old password so it only recognises 'tig'. Thanks, Geoff
