    so as of tonight... I'm a step closer to gettin into a BF1.. have come to an agreement with a guy wanting to buy.>> just waiting on inspection and deposit for it to be a definate..
  4. so guys.. whats with all the hype about the ZF 6 speed?? its almost enough to make me go out and buy one!! having only driven the 6 speed manual I have no idea.. but if all goes well I maybe up for a BF series soon enough. So wats so good about the ZF?? I'm an absolute fan of manuals, feels like I have more control over the car..

    sorry, wasnt clear.. the point of the post was basically..>> BF 1's could have the stronger bottom end right?? And and 08/06 build would fall into that category right?

    Hi everyone With regard to BF mk1's, what was the final build date in 2006 before BF2 started?? Is it possible that BF1's got typhoon bottom end. Only reason I ask is I have found a BF1 at a good price with a claimed build date of 8/06...

  10. After searching last night, I couldnt find a difinitive answer to my question. Roughly how much would it cost to have rods installed in a BA mk2?? Would you suggest anything else to help stregthen bottom end? Bearings? I dont want massive power, I just want it to be able to handle the power that a standard bottom end would be at its limits. Suggestions on brands??

  16. Is that on a standard BA bottom end? I dont/ wont drive like a maniac when I get a tune but would like to know when I give it a boot that it wont sh*t itself!.. hehe

  19. I'm pretty sure BFII's are late 06 dated mate; if I'm wrong someone will definately correct me!! As for valve springs, in your later model falcons I dont think they're as much of an issue as in the BAMK1's and II's. Although, going through some threads people with BAMK2 standard valve springs are pulling good power and some aren't. Long short of it all, its a worth while mod because you cant tell if you need them or not until you start tuning and they've come down alot in price lately as well! Hope this helps:)

  22. So I have been looking round; now just thinking BF2 turbo or late model BF T. Insurance will be affordable! I'm only really wanting the stronger bottom end, BA typhoon was comparable in price that's all. Wheres all the manual BF's? can only find auto's, for those that have them, how good are the ZF6 speeds?

  25. HI everyone Just after your thoughts and opinions. Currently I have a BA MK2 turbo ute(late 04 but first registered 05) and have recently been looking at the BA MK2 typhoons. Would it be a worthwhile upgrade? or will the value of the typhoons continue to drop considerably? As for modifying the typhoon, I'd only be looking at 330 or so rwKw. that's pretty safe in a BA typhoon isn't it? Also, typhoon owners; what is insurance like on an FPV? who insures them? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys/girls
