Just ordered a 50th Anniversary Sedan (manual in Nitro with mudspats, h/duty towbar, tint, boot liner and alarm). Deal depends on them sourcing a manual in Nitro - not making 50th any more and only a few Nitros left. Can anyone tell me if the Perimeter Alarm has it's own siren and proper chirps on open/close or does it just use the car horn? Website says it has battery backup but doesnt say about siren and of couse the dealer has NFI. If it is just the horn I will delete this and look aftermarket. Help appreciated.

Thanks Pete A. Bit confused though- given the 19 is lots wider than the space saver, surely your floor is raised over the std?

Hi Been a member here for years but have been away for a long time. I bought a manual BA XR6T new in 2003 - kept it for 2.5 yrs then sold it to a mate. He still owns it so I still get to drive it occasionally! Since then I've had a Mazda 6MPS, a Liberty Heritage Wagon and currently have a Liberty 3.0 R Spec B wagon. I am looking at buying an XR6T 50th anniversary edition and have a couple of questions that I dont trust the answers from salesmen on: To get the 19" spare, do you need to factory order the car. It looks to me from a pic I've seen that the boot carpet is a different shape to cater for the extra height - is that the case? I would actually like to get both the 19" spare and the space saver so the boot isnt restricted and I can still have the cheap wheel/tyre also. Possible? Anyone done this? Is the ford alarm upgrade OK? Are they still making the 50th packs, or have they all been made already? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies guys. Does anyone know the answers to my questions. Book says to use 15w-40. So would I go for the 15w-50?

Hi guys, I'm sure its been discussed a million times before.... Tried searching with mixed results so... My T is booked in for its 60000 next week. It's only ever had whatever oil ford service put in and that's never worried me cos I dont keep cars much over 2 years. When I booked it in price was $250 odd with "normal" mobil or $360 with Mobil One. A mate is now gonna buy my car and he works for Repco so I thought I'd get the oil through him. So: If I get Mobil One, which viscosity should I get? How many litres do I need (Book say capacity is 7ltrs?)? Does it really cost $110 more than the non-synthetic stuff?? Thanks in advance. SOONNOT2BXR6T. (Maybe 6 MPS.....)

I had a look at the BF recently adn the salesman (that sold me my T 2 yrs ago) said the new wheels "look small" for some reason. I agree.

I think what they mean is the 6 speed manual is what is standard on the T - the 6 speed auto is optional at $1250. I dont think the 4 speed is available. A write up on the BF/6 speed: http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...n-bf-review.htm

You must find those straight roads boring though!

No sedate driving!! I got 28000 from my first set, which I thoughty was pretty good (Liberty RX lasted < 20000 each time), and current set have done 22000 and are stuffed. I dont light em up at all - the fronts wear quicker than the rears. Plenty of hills driving (daily).

I am also considering selling both BA's to buy a Lib GT or B spec wagon and possibly a classic muscle car for investment/weekends.The 6 speed and bilstein suspension in the B versus slightly more go from the turbo but only 5 speed is an interesting dilemma.Test drive will tell.Yeah I paid 48k for my turbo Nov 03 inc orc and trade-in value I guess is between 25- 27k with 22,000 km up which is not real good.Seems the Subarus have the best retained values this side of a Mercedes Benz.Where's the best Subie deals in Adelaide?-Eblens is the closest to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Havent got down to talking turkey yet Mr X. Hey richdave, seen you on MRT (I'm bbcrowdog). I'm in the same boat as you, considering GT or RB wagons (along with a host of other cars!!). My T is Sept 03, blueprint, manual, prem sound, 50000kms. Havent actually had my car priced yet, but my guesstimate is they'll offer about 25000, esp with the release of the BF. A mate of mine is gonna buy mine when I'm ready to trade, but my balloon is still 31500ish so I'll have to wait a while. Resale is about the only thing putting me off getting another T. My last car was a MY01 Liberty RX. Paid 37000, payout at nearly 3 years was 13500 and I sold it for 22000 (70000kms). I'll be happy just to break even this time http://www.redbook.com.au/vehiclesearch/pr...sp?key=FORD03BO

No, not as yet...Im having trouble locating it. But it comes and goes. I have pulled the cover off and had a good look inside and theres nothong there...It has settled down abit though. I have a big gut feeling it has something to do with the glove box. The thing that annoys me is when you turn the radio off to hear the turbo, I hear the rattle. It just annoys me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I originally thought my rattle was coming from the airbag area too. Possibly the same as yours!? See my previous post.
