  1. not quickly, no, and it's not cracked, it's "leaking through the seams" to quote the service manager.
  2. I should point out that I don't think this is an issue with the dealer at all, I've had no real problem with them. And to clarify, ford will pay 60% parts and labour for the radiator replacement. The brakes are my problem, they won't do anything about that. The way I look at the brakes is that I knew there were shudder problems when I bought the car new. I hoped that over the warranty period ford would come up with a fix, If not, I'd put on an after market solution myself once out of the warranty period. Which is now. I figured I could have bought the premium brakes at the start, but thought I might be better off with an after market solution when the time came. Anyway, I'll give the dealer a call and get them to go ahead. Thanks for the replies fellas
  3. That's what I was wondering - I can kind of understand that a radiator is deteriorating just sitting there...
  4. Hi guys. My 1st post here, please be gentle I have an October 03 XR6T which has just clocked over 48,000. Yeah I know, that's really bugger all. This is the first service where it's been out of warranty, and so it's time for me to pay, through the nose it looks like. 2 items came up this time : * The old favourite, brake shudder - on-car machining required but now at my cost * and one out of the blue - the radiator needs replacing - it's leaking through the seams Now if I'd had a rock or something go through the radiator, I'd be pissed off, but this is not the case. The service dude assured me it wasn't leaking through a hole, but through the seams. They advised me to call ford customer relations, which I did and they said they would 'review the situation'. I got a call today and they told me in the interest of them being nice (or some such comment), they would cover 60% of the parts and labor required. I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed. The vehicle has not done a huge number of miles, and it's been serviced by the book by the dealer who sold me the vehicle. Are my expectations too high, should I just accept their good will jesture? How long should a radiator last? Should I take it further? Tonight I started to look back over the service sheets to see what work had been carried out under warranty. I am concerned - it's constant and now it's going to cost me...
