    good work guys how is the ZF coping with the increase in torque? Ive got a xr6t with the same auto but have not modded yet because I was told that the auto uses a seperate pcm module which has to be tuned seperatly? would it be possible for me to mod my BF to say 290-300rwkw, reprogram the ZF or is it capable of handling this sort of power and torque without modding it?

  3. Hi deek, Deek, givin that u have owned both kits can u u say why the nizpro kit is better and have u still got the aps exaust? Also I see that a few people have changed to a high flow cat and dump pipe, would changing both be a good idea or would just changing the cat be good enough? A friend ofd mine has got hold of a typhoon cooler for me and powder coated it black, would I see a increase in performance if I were to put it on before the mods?

  5. Hello every1, Ive recently bought a BF xr6t with the ZF6speed auto, have done close to 3000kms now and I can confidently say the engine has been run-in well by my run-in procedure. The auto has freed up a little more since new and the whole car feels very smooth and better than when I bought it... anyway back to my point, I was looking at the various upgrade kits available and through the feed back on this site HPF and Nizpro both get a good mention. the power I was looking to acheive with mods was about 280-290rwkw which is plenty for me as I dont want to do the internals just yet, The kit I was looking at was the Venom 1.5 from HPF as it looks like a good kit by doing the injectors, valve springs at the same time as the edit. What I would like to know is of anybody that has this kit and the power figures they received when it was installed, also does Nizpro or Aps offer a kit in the same category as the HPF one. which would be the best kit to get power wise but also engine and turbo reliability are important because I plan on keeping the car for a while. On a final note has anyone got on top of the ZF6peed PCM yet and should I wait till more testing is done? Im in coburg so any of these tuners is a viable option. Regards Mark
  6. I realise that the peak torque that ZF6 would be able to handle would substantially higher than the 600nm its rated for.. but at what cost? Im looking to have something that is tuned reliably without having to worry that the torque will fry the box.. My dad owns a Jaguar S-type R and it has the same ZF6 speed as the BF does, not sure on it torque output but it has 300fwkw. Does anyone have any info reagarding the reliability of the ZF6 because alot of euro cars have this same auto and deal with much higher torque and power loadings reagards Mark
  7. Hi all, Im in the process of running in my BF XR6T, have done 900kms so far. This being my second T all I can say it is a dream to drive, I got the ZF 6speed auto as 1 of my options My questions are related to the modding potential of the BF and the 6speed auto. The mods that I am considering are as follows: 1. Custom Edit 2. Bigger injectors 3. Valve springs Im not looking to have a monster all I want is about 280-290rwkw, and have the car tuned for mid-range torque, what torque figures should I expect with power such as I have descibed? Would I need to have the auto modded to cope with the increase in power and torque? Also considering the power that im after is there any mods that I have missed and should consider? Who is the best tuner around? Ive heard lots of good things bout HPF and Nizpro.. im in Melbourne Any advice to steer me in the right direction would be gratly appreciated! regards Mark

I think its the best colour that ford have brought out! the 6speed auto is standard on the BF XR6T and XR8, if u get another model BF its a $1250 option.. but there are two diffrent 6speed boxes, the premium model falcons get the high torque capactity box, also performance brakes are standard aswell, I took one of their demos for a spin today and the auto is sweet let me tell u! I had a T5 in my other T and have always been a manual man, but this ZF auto is the smoothest shifting auto ive ever driven. coming from a phase2 kit I kinda miss the power but the auto more than makes up it.. its going to be a November build so I can expect it within 3weeks cheers Mark
  9. Well after 5 long months of not owning my own car I finally placed an order for a BF XR6T with the ZF 6speed auto... Those who can remember me I wrote off my 1st T in June on the tullamarine freeway was lucky to work out of that f*ckin accident I tell ya.. the deal Lightning Strike BF XR6T 6speed auto 18'wheels premimum sound and the dealer options I got were.. front+rear mudguards bonnet protector XR mats dashmat foglight guards all up $50000 drive away the actual dealer was Courtney& Patterson in Melb.. and the guy I spoke to was Ross, I reccomend any1 in the market to buying a new car to speak to give him a call cos he was very professional and told you everything pretty straight Now the hard part is actually waiting fot it to get built, only 2 weeks approx, but since ive waited 5 months it should'nt be a problem!
  10. Jesus, is this fate or what... I did the exact same thing this morning on the tullamarine freeway at about 6:15am.. My car is completely f*cked from the back end, total write off. I was entering the freeway at about 90 in third gear and sped up 2 get ahead of a truck that was goin a bit faster. next thin I knew when I hit 300rpm the back end kicked out spun in front of the truck then kept spinning another 3 time b4 I cannoned into the wall at about 100kmh.. I completely sh*t myself and I think I blacked out for a few seconds when I hit the wall, then I came to a complete stop just near the emergency lane.. 3 cars stopped and came over 2 see if I was ok.. well I think I am! just a sore neck now from whiplash.. within minutes my uncle was there 2 goin 2 work aswell as the police, ambulance and fire brigade.. the citylink patrol truck also rocked up.. anyways at home now least I didnt have 2 go in2 work and im deciding what I should get when the insurunce pays me out.. police took my details but no statement so I dont think im going 2 get charged.. im just thankful im ok and nobody else got hurt.. well there goes my 5 speed xr6t with an apsphase2 kit down the drain.. I supponse I can scanvenge the unchip and maybe the fuelpump and the injectors.. as far as the exaust.. it was pushed up in2 the rear passenger compartment.. I would just like 2 add for all u young blokes out there that are thinking of buying a highpowered car such an xr6t or similar.. just be careful im only 24 and today I thoght I was going 2 die regards Mark sorry guys I dont know how 2 link differtent posts.. this is from another post in chit chat basically what happened.. anyway im ok, the sore neck is gone and and finally gettin on with insurance side of things.. the assessor gets out there on monday and by all accounts so far its going to be repaired.. ofcouse as soon as it does im gettin rid of it anyway.

I just wrote off my T this morning on the tulla freeway, have to wait until next week until I know if the assessor writes it off, but its pretty much f*cked ill post some pics next week just 2 show how bad it is.   13. yeah im ok man , was very shaky this morning but apart from that ive just got a sore neck.. im hoping 2 post pictures when I go back 2 the panel beaters on tuesday and after the assessor has a look at it.. I should be ok but I got him 2 change the 2 back tyres cos they were bald.. just in case right now im just crusing the forums 2 see what I should get. I want another T, cant go backwards now!

  15. yeah good kill man.. but really, in a roll on against a modded T they have no chance, the instant torque when u have 270rwkw and over is very hard to run down.. ive raced countless modded Ls1's and never lost 2 any of them. every Expensive Daewoo driver that drives a SS thinks hes mark skaife and they've got the fastest car on the road. I myself have got about 280rwkw and my T5 is still holding up ok.. ive raced heaps of imports.. 180sx's, 200's, gtst skylines, silvias and rexes and have beaten all of them.. the only evenly matched races ive had so far r with an older modded 911turbo and my mates 05sti which he has spent close to 20grand on, both of these races were neck and neck.. regards mark

  17. just thought id let the boys know what happened in this encouter I had with the new VZ. would have been about 4am sunday morning I was driving home on the tulla freeway (melb 4 those interstate) when this very nice looking hsv flew past me.. I was just crusing at this point, then the banana slows to bout 100kmh 2 let catch up.. now I couldnt stuffed having a run, got nothing 2 prove knowing I got a stage2 kit from APS, but this guy asked 4 it.. so here we r just cruising side by side and this clown signals 2 me to boot it . OK! if that's what u want bro, now I thought theres now way he could be stock being the cocky *unt he was.. and starting from 100kmh I thought the 6.0lt would have the edge.. now ive got a t5 so I started from 4th about 300rpm, few seconds I hear the big v8 wind up but it getting softer not louder! stayed in 4th all the way 2 180kmh and busted him by about 3 car lengths, we both got off on the moreland road exit and copped the red, sh*t that thing goes alright he said, yeah it goes alrite I replied.. I asked him what he had done 2 his car and he was stock, still not bad 4 a 4lt destroying a 6lt top end, I need phase3 now! Mark

Ive got the the aps phase2 kit and it boogies, heaps of people can attest to that.. what I would like 2 ask is what is the performance difference between say 270kw at the wheels which is what ive got and about 620nm of torque as compared 2 your 325kw.. whats it like in real world terms, in a roll on from say 100kmh? cheers Mark
  19. its black, and it had a huge front mount on it, yeah I think eastern subs.. it makes big horses, ive seen a dyno clip of it.. but also it makes heaps of torque which is more important in races, I mean my car makes about 620nm and its got about 270kw at the wheels.. my car destroyed a vx GTS top end, so this thing has balls cheers Mark
  20. Hi Boostn, welcome 2 the forums Id like 2 add 2 this discussion about the power of the phase2 setup for the xr6t, I myself have got the kit and only 1 car has ever actually beaten me.. I know how fast a wrx, in the hands of a good driver can launch so I dont usually bother on takeoff, but in a roll on from second gear I blow nealy everything on the road.. by the way my car has the T5 and the only thing ive done is put redline synthetic gear oil in it and it has held up so far.. but I will b getting the T56 as soon as ford release it. current kill list VY SS- ls1 edit and exaust.. roll on from 50 upto bout 110, was pulling away stongly from him 03 STI- bigger turbo, cooler, injectors, fuel pump the works.. think he had just over 200 at the wheels.. had three runs on the freeway much closer than the VY, beat him every time but his car was quick.. I also dusted heaps of other cars, a few skylines, 180s, countless mario's in vl's and a worked vs clubbie. the only car that killed me was supercharged vx clubbie, this thing had like 400kw at the wheels and heaps of torque, but it was a monster if any1 else has raced this car let us know, its in melbourne cheers Mark

Ive got a 5speed T with an aps phase2 kit, ive found that very few cars can actually keep up in a roll on.. about a week ago had a run against a vy 285kw clubbie on the highway smashed him 3 times b4 he got the picture Ive found that my sweet spot is in second gear at about 2800rpm.. I think its the amount of torque that makes our T's very hard 2 run down even on the highway. mark

I saw u about 2 weeks ago at calder when u were running low 13's, im just about 2 get phase 2 installed from aps.. had the phase 1 upgrade 4 about 6months, did peter mention that your valve springs needed 2 be upgraded when your got phase 3? also did u have any street encounters with your phase 2 and did u stick it 2 them? :banghead:
